I was on yahoo messenger boards then on Don Henry the Vampire Website before getting word of this place by an old lady friend on mine that went by the name of Countess. Please do share with us all on how you came here thank you.
I was on a place one called
Vampire social. Then, they started
Shutting down. Like how vampire
Freaks are going to do in feb.

I joined a book forum by a specific author. I'm not that good at reading, go figure, I love romantic novels. The book series was called Vampire Kisses.
I enjoyed their forums because I had people to connect to. Unfortunately I was young and trolls were bigger back then. So I took things personally and didn't like it there anymore.
I wanted to find another "vampire " forum but I didn't want to get into the roleplaying scene. To be honest, I was kicked out of other "vampire " forums for not being a believer.
Vampire freaks I didn't join believe it or not, till years later. I felt like it hit too close to home with the amount of people who lived nearby me. I was afraid of stalkers.
Vampire Rave gave me comfort and new friends. Now I'm not so anonymous.
I am still in the same place as I was before, seeking knowledge.
I have to agree with Doru post. Same place... seeking knowledge.
1995 - 2001 Undernet IRC chat channel #vampires.
1999 - 2002 VampireRadio.com
2002 - 2006 Acrimony.org
2005 - Present VampireRave.com
It's hard for me to say when I was first on the "Internet". I got online in 1985 with a 300 baud modem. At this time there were only BBS's (bulletin board systems). This modem was so slow, I could read faster than the text appeared on the screen.
In the late 80s the BBS's started to interconnect. Around this time I gained access to the University of Michigan intranet. It was connected to other universities.. so I could "hop" to other networks. This was the very early Internet, but it wasn't called the Internet until around 1991. Prior to '91, the Internet was virtually 100% textual, and very very slow.
I was on Yahoo for year before finding VR. The chatrooms on Yahoo, allowed me to meet friends all over the world and share stories and information. The vampire world was far more "lurkish" at that point. When I found VR, I had stepped away from my vampire roots for a number of years. I guess you can never just walk away.

books, several tribal face book groups i agree with Doru seeking knowledge and wow the last month has been a real learning month - the forgotten
I found this place bc a friend sugested it to me when VF shut down ^^
Was here from way before, come back once in a while. Was on Facebook and all that social media junk before that.Find this way more chill
I was in the yahoo graveyard chat as winglessangel.
Then my buddies and I went to There.com.
I made my way here around 2004 or 2005 off and on.
I came from VampireFreaks, but a long time ago I was on VampireRave. I'm also on GoneGothic and GothWire.
I don't even remember how I stumbled upon VR and that scares me a bit :) my original account was BleedingTear, I think it was around 2006.
Before this I was on herzeleid, a Rammstein fan page where you could have an account and read forums. And of course, as many more, on Yahoo Messenger and MSN.
My first contact with the internet was on the internet as well, on a fee IRC channels. Never joined vampire freaks or other vampire communities besides this one.
Oh and of course, I was living my teen life and now I'm just adulting around :)
I came from VampireFreaks. This place seems really awesome so far.
I hadn't really searched for any sites or societies to be part of the Rave was introduced to me by a close friend who thought that I would like the place. I am still keeping my head down and in books still learning I guess.
I was creating a website on Vampires on geocities. I am not sure if they are still running that domain. Research led me here. Those were the days, really.
I was merely floating about on random vampire forums...neither here nor there til I caught wind of this place :) now I'm all about learning.
I was just out lost in the world. Stumbled upon the site and stuck around for many years before dancing in the stars. Hope I can find what I had before ...
Small yuku forum called Blood and Roses, catered to OVC and helping others learn. DrinkDeeplyandDream was another I frequented as well as Smoke and Mirrors- Vampire and otherkin forum. It was mostly for friends and meetups, which I am grateful for. I have met some awesome people in person over the years, and this site has brought me new forever friendships:)
Originally I was online at SFNet then as that started to collapse I found Tribe.net then as it started to change, I found this place.
Alone in a dark room, just waiting to meet vampire interested persons? :)
I was on some artist's community website. It was by chance that someone saw my photos and said I might like it here.
Before this site, I didn't really do sites of this kind before. This was totally new to me.
My internet Life has been intetesting, as far as social media goes, I started with aol chat rooms, neopets, doll palace, and eventually myspace when it started. It was my search for vampire fangs and research that landed me on the vampire rave.
Was on a vampire site Drink Deeply and Dream. I also was part of a Yuku group that catered to ovc called Blood and Roses. It was quite interesting as I have met so many good people. Vampire Rave was recommended to me by a friend over a decade ago and lookie I got hookie and I'm, still here:). The way this site evolves is such a wonderful thing. I can't wait to see what the next decade will bring us:)
Friend sent me an invite here almost 11 years ago on a different profile
As she knew had an interest in the supernatural and the occult and thought I would like it here
Most groups forums I belonged to where either PSP or Wiccan pagan groups
A yahoo chatroom called The Graveyard as Winglessangel.
Then here.
I was in person through Meetup before quarantine shut down my state...a whole year ago lol
Watching and studying the patterns of social progression, other than that... going on benders and encouraging others to do the same.

this was my first site like this. years ago. and then life intervened. thought I'd peak around and see what was new. pleasantly surprised how much i miss it.
Oh, heavens... LoL
You could probably name one and I've likely sampled it to some degree. Never stuck around much, though. And even when I did, I seemed to really p*ss people off a lot with my honesty (despite most of them asking me to be just that).
Most of what I did, however, was stick to libraries both online and physical. I've never really been satisfied with what I knew already. I always had/have to "push the envelope" to the point of even making some of the old "RVC" really unhappy with me.
I came here from VampireFreaks about 15 years ago at the request of my former best friend, MistressNightShade. In that time, I have brought a few people here, such as NightBlossom, the Sire, and others.
Even though the Military keeps me way, I try to return every few years or so, if I can.
I was on a Werewolf site, not many or any mainstream sites for Dragons, and not many sites for many things
Before I came the VR, I was sitting alone in my room, wishing I had somewhere that I could be myself without judgement or ridicule. (my family do not believe that I am a Vampire.)
As far as forums are concerned, this was the first to truly
captivate my attention. Although my social life is very active
and I move around a lot, VR is a place that I find myself
wanting to come back to, again and again. It is a great niche, a
magnificent place to learn and to share knowledge, and it's
community is what makes it so amazing. ~Dee
Idk, I mean I'm on reddit alot and instagram and discord. To be honest i just stumbled upon this website by accident because I was just looking to see if any vampire sites were still up from back then. As a human this site is more friendlier to me than the discord servers I've been on. Then again it's discord
Eff... So this is where I show my age.
I started out on the IRC.
Then there a few year hiatus mostly offline when I was into the local scene. Then AOL, Yahoo & myspace before VR.
I did hunt knowledge to theese kind of things to on different sites. I stumbled on VR by accident and realised it was just what i seeked after ,a place where i could gain knowledge.

Prior to this I was on Vampireafreaks.
This was my second "forum" site.
I found VR in 2005 through the Database- but had ended up enlisting when I was 19 in the army and deleted my original account due to not knowing if I'd ever be able to commit time to the site.
Rejoined a few years later and have been here since.
Chat rooms, The Palace, MySpace...
I was on Otherkin forums for awhile as Silene.
I had a child and have been mostly silent/finding places in RL to hide as we moved around the country.
I found VR by accident recently.
Head buried in books, travelling, doing ghost hunts (before lockdown), then online ghost hunts and getting addicted to watching Ghost Adventures.
I was and still am on the search for knowledge.
I was on many different social platforms. Vampire Freaks, Gone Gothic, GothicsRUs, MyYearbook, Myspace, etc. Used to play Yahoo Games and MSN games like crazy. Had all the messenger apps...Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, and AOL. Used to play SecondLife and RuneScape. I can't remember how I stumbled across VR, I think it was from a Profile on either Myspace or Vampire Freaks.
Was a part of Vampire Freaks then took some time off and when I returned it was reduced to just being a Clothes store.
Found this place and all ready falling in love with it!
The first time I've joined VR was late 2011 I was actually searching up vampire sites then I came across this site while I was at my first job at the time. After deciding I didn't wanna become a member of VR no longer I took time away from the site after 5 years of being apart of VR before I gave up my account to somebody else. Returning again I think it was 2019 I was in my 2 year at my current job and now I'm back who knows if I decide to leave VR again and if it will be for good or not.
I started on the yahoo chats, back when you could name them and have them on any topic at all.
Then they kinda shut that down and here I am!
Though .. to be honest... I haven't a clue how I found this place as opposed to anywhere else I could have landed.
Also forgot to mention I've used yahoo messenger, Facebook, watch YouTube videos which I still do, and play video games again something I would still do. Sucks there's no longer a yahoo messenger also used AOL messenger at the time and MySpace before they were taken down. Just before joining VR I was just finishing school but a year before.
I'm almost certain I was on Vampire Freaks before I joined here, and then other little places I would find here or there. But nothing really substantial until I joined VR. It's definitely the one I've stuck with the longest.
I was in the yahoo graveyard chat as winglessangel.
Then my buddies and I went to There.com.
I made my way here around 2004 or 2005 off and on.
I was a fifteen year old kid when I joined vampire rave. It was early morning, history class, and we had computer lab. Instead of doing our class work a friend of mine showed me this website and I have been here for fifteen years now.
I was a kid before joining vr, and wasn’t on any other social networking websites.Vr was a first for me.
It was usually myspace, AIM,AOL and yahoo messenger for me before I found this site.
I think at the time, I was living with my grandmother when I stumbled upon this site and I joined back in 2006 or 2007 or so
I was come here to find some anserws because one night when I was sleeping some Carpathian vampire spirit visited me I didnt not see him only just felt like touch on my cheek and.... my heart was start beat so fast first time ever in my all whole life then tears was falling down my face i think he was tried to comfort me anyway he was kind to me then any of my family members or peoples who I ever knew my life before in my past and now someway have so deep hurt pain thats why its was so miracle this carpathian vampire spirit was visited me im not cant forget that i wish to know more about vampire spirits example how to contact i will be very thanks and happy if i know that 😳
Still on Immortal Night and Immortal Day. Stumbled upon this site.
It’s kinda like a mall. In its heyday it was likely the absolute pinnacle!
It still could be if there were a great catalyst of Vampyre enthusiastic resurgence. What a wonderful environment! We can hope.
I found out about this site through a friend, but before this I was just in the dark with my books by Farher Sebastiaan

I was on a lot of different forum groups, as well as Vampire Freaks, but I was more into the physical gothic scene in Boston, MA and NYC.
I originally joined here in 2006, but left when I enlisted (didn't think I would have the time) and then rejoined (and stayed) in 2008.
I was on VF, MySpace, In Chatrooms and I was participating in my local scene in Toronto Canada.
I found VR when I was researching vampire websites.
I was on myspace then facebook for a breif moment but I felt like the quality of facebook was a lot less than myspace. So I came to VR 15 years ago. I had always liked the concept. Nothing else out there is like it
Started out on MySpace, wandered over to DeepRealm because I was looking for more of a goth social scene than...whatever MS was in those days. I honestly miss DR so much because the vibes were impeccable. When DR closed down I joined GoneGothic. Then I ended up on VampireFreaks before it shut down. VF was the site that I spent the most time on since it was active the longest.
-books
-myspace
-VampireFreaks off and on
-making art
-here as of yesterday
It seems I missed out on the other gothic websites Achlys. I think social media websites are dying in the customization and cultural sense. Everything is similar to Facebook and more of a streamline for general information. I think VR is one of the last cultural social media websites remaining. I hope it stays for a long time.
Vampire rave along time ago
Instagram
back to Vampire rave
Well, I'd had a vivid dream about a vampire lover and was seeking another perspective on it, so I went to reddit. I had a private message sent to me mentioning this site, so here I am. Other than that, I've been on Reign of Blood for years.
I hate facebook, instagram and snapchat, but I'm occasionally on X (twitter.)
