Each functions in accordance with the guidelines as set forth by the House/Coven Master. Houses and Covens have a number of unique features including a private Forum, News section, and the ability of the Master to send group messages. RETURN TO TOP 2. What is the difference between a House and a Coven? There are 7 Vampire Rave Houses. This number is fixed and will never change. Each House is headed by a Vampire Rave Master Vampire. A Coven is created by a Sire. There are few differences between a House and Coven other than a Coven is created by a Sire, who is not necessarily a Vampire Rave administrator, and a Coven can be disbanded by the Sire at any time. RETURN TO TOP 3. How do I join a House or Coven? A member has no choice as to whether or not they want to be in a specific House or Coven. Members are selected by the House/Coven Master along the following guidelines: RETURN TO TOP 4. Help! I'm in a House/Coven and I hate the Master! Members do not have a choice as to whether or not they want to be in a specific House or Coven. A member can request of their Master that they be traded, however a Master is under no obligation to facilitate such a trade. When a member reaches the Status of Sire they are free to leave any House or Coven. RETURN TO TOP 5. I've been traded! I don't want to be traded! Members do not have a choice as to whether or not they will be traded to another House or Coven. RETURN TO TOP 6. What is the House/Coven Score? The House/Coven Score is a complex mathematical formula that ranks all Houses and Covens. You can find an indepth explanation of how the Score is computed here. RETURN TO TOP 7. What is Favor of the Prince? Favor of the Prince is earned by House or Coven members through a member's level of activity on Vampire Rave. Favor is an important portion of the House/Coven score (34%). After Favor has been earned, it may be traded or given to another House or Coven. It can be considered currency, and is often used to facilitate trades between a House or Coven. All Favor earned by a member belongs to the House or Coven Master. It is up to the Master how Favor will be used. This includes Sire's who have chosen to join a House or Coven versus starting their own Coven. Statistics are maintained showing how much Favor a member has earned. This statistic is not what Favor the member possesses (Their Favor belongs to their Master). However, this statistic is useful for Master's who are considering trading members. Favor is earned in the following manner: Although the primary method of earning favor is through website activity, it is not the only way. The Prince may distribute Favor in any way The Prince deems fit. Often times The Prince is very unfair about how such disbursements are awarded. RETURN TO TOP 8. What are the various House/Coven levels? The are several House/Coven levels that are independent of other areas of Vampire Rave: RETURN TO TOP 9. What are Marks? There are 3 Marks: A Mark awards a member a bonus or penalty to their Status. Mark of the Prince is 10%. Mark of the Master is 5%. Mark of Shame (awarded by the Prince only) is -10%. This means the most a single member can accrue is 15%. This bonus is applied to the member's Status and it is substantial. The higher the level of the member the more significant the bonus. As an example, a level 80 member with Mark of the Prince is instantly bumped to level 88 (80 * 1.1 = 88). The modifier is applied after the Status base score is computed. For more information on Status levels, click here. RETURN TO TOP 10. I'm blind. What does that mean? A Master may choose to blind any member of their House or Coven. When a member is Blind they cannot see the House Forum or News, and they will not receive any House messages. A Master may choose to blind a member for any number of reasons, including problematic members. Who a Master chooses to blind is totally up to the Master. RETURN TO TOP 11. What special exceptions does a Sire have? A Sire may not be forcibly inducted into a House or Coven. A Sire may however petition a House or Coven for membership. Membership must be granted by the House/Coven Master. A Sire can start their own Coven. If a Sire wishes to start their own Coven they must contact The Prince. A Sire can choose to leave any House or Coven at any time. A Sire can also disband their Coven. Because of Master marks, a member can achieve an artificial level of Sire. If that member then leaves a House or Coven they will loose their mark. Their Status is recomputed and their level may drop below Sire. At this point, the member can be forcibly inducted into any House or Coven. If a Sire chooses to leave a House or Coven they should make sure that they will retain their Status of Sire after they leave. 12. What are Alliances? An Alliance is formed between two or more Societies. When Societies align, their favor and members are combined in the computation of Society Standing. Members of an Alliance can freely move between aligned Societies. When you are in a Society that is in an Alliance, you can move freely within the other Alliance Societies. You can access their news page, message archive, chat, polls, forum, and private internal pages just as if you were a regular member. You can also post in their forum or vote in their polls. Here are the general rules of Alliances: Member Societies of the Alliance disappear from the Standings page. There is a singular entry for the Alliance. For Standing computation of the Alliance, all Favor and Members of the Alliance are totaled. RETURN TO TOP |
