While I know I live in a deep Red state, always have, not a surprise to any who know me that I am a Democrat. By parents that was on different sides of the election. Mom was a Dem, while Dad was a Rep. Guess you could say I took after my mother.
Now- she was a wife, mother, woman who owned and managed three business since 1945. Think about that. She could not go to the bank to get a loan without her husband. A fact that she can ran to one time when he was on the road. My father and her went to the bank and, in no uncertain terms, told them if his wife needed a loan- give her the money. While my dad was a Republican, he wasn't against women. Not the controlling of. Yes- he and my mother fought when it came time for the ears to be pierced, or makeup worn... lord the hair dye was a heck of a fuss. But I never felt my father would not stand by my side.
The first time Trump ran- I could see dad voting for him. The change, cleaning out the swamp. Who didn't think that? But I still never voted for him because I just ... like my mother taught us by example, some folks you just can't trust. And to look at the history, the past. What did they do? He is rich, so... but then he inherited that. And how many times did he file bankruptcy? And I watched his TV show- slick. Not my kind of person. And even then, his own words set my alerts off. So, while not a fan of the Democrat- lesser of two.
Now- I agree that he was screwed with the virus. That would have sunk anyone term. I still think he made mistakes, with all his boasting. But talk about a hot topic- in this area ... the churches, business closed down. OH MY GOD the world is ending. You couldn't give the medical staff, Dr's, all the people working to save the sick that help to get a handle on this. To stay in, to watch your church on TV, to not go to the gym. No- it was all about ME ME ME. First time I really noticed a few people in my life that just showed what asses they were. You had Zoom, you had DR offices open, so if "in person" had to be done, non-emergency medical procedures canceled. All those people who back the Blue line, but who pushed the state laws put into effect.
But it did play havoc with the world. Prices, shipping, demand and supply. And the good old Greed. It was not a presidential term anyone would have wanted to handle. But it was his. So, I was fine, disagreeing with his words. Black Life Matters. Now there he was starting to cross the line for me. Yes= attacks, protestors. But you also see the reports it was the ones who stir the pot, had an agenda. Show of strong, take back American started.
Then it was new election. I didn't want to vote for either. But I sure the hell knew the lesser of the two- and went democrat. World started to get semi back to normal, even after the attack of January 6th. The fear of defunding the police did not come true. Nor the taking of guns. All the threats made, none showed. Yes- inflation. But really- after the world events of the Virus, to me you should see it coming. I was more surprised two major grocery store admits to price gouging. Hello $4.00 eggs. Greed. Evil of the good people.
Now we started with, again, none I would vote for. And truth told- I wasn't going to vote till Harris step in. But you knew that would be an uphill battle. Woman, non white. But the education, her experience, the educated way she spoke. We might have someone here. And him? He is not aging well- the rambling shows that. Same promises. Now its woman rights taken, immigrants hauled out of our country, schools board shut down, etc. etc.
While a lot of his 'promises' did not bother me- I'm too old to worry about having kids. I'm white, born in the USA. Not on disability. And I never depended on the social security to pay my bills when I retire. Another lesson taught by both parents. But the social security, Medicare, and the help my disabled brother gets to stay in his home does concern me. But if push comes to shove- he will be fine.
I still did not expect to be here. Facing another 4 years of this con man. And he is a con man. No, he is a good businessman... really? Have you looked at his background? Yes, I got an easy start in my life. But if you think my parents' worth did not increase with the work of the children, you are wrong. Hard work made us all what we have. Blessed but we still earned every bit of it.
But ok, not a con man. Wink Wink. I still was shocked he won. I think of friends who have two little nieces- are they going to have the right to health care as they grow into young women? The ones who say "GOD loves everyone" but still you voted for a man who hates gays, blacks, Latinos, Mexicans, anyone who is not white? The one who will take that government check you get every month. That insurance you go to the doctor so often on. Who to tank the public school after you fought to have your kids taught, treated better? All those I know that are disabled, something he sees as just a drain on the government. Those who back the police- but this man talks about cutting funds and given 'one day of cleaning out". Law and order, I take it, is not as important to you. Maybe just to the white, straight Americans. To those who said "Everything cost too much" but you put the man who wants to raise the tariff by 200%? Who do you think is going to pay that? Learn how a tariff works. And taking the people who rise, harvest, pack, move the food out of our country? Sure... that isn't going to affect the cost at all. Hiring white people at $20.00 an hour will make those eggs cost less. And if you think white folks going to work... those who deal with the world, knows.
Comes down to this- I hope cooler minds are put into place to help Trump. Maybe tamper his goals of the 2025 plan. If not... well... it's going to be hard. Again, in a lot better shape than most, but still, everyone is going to pay in one way or another these next four years. And longer really. So, in a year when it all comes true, when he does enforce that 2025 plan that leads to a dictatorship. No need to vote again, its all-Hitler style that he dreams of... remember who put him in that place of power.
Fear you all who voted for him is getting ready to fuck around and find out. Me? My goal is to just stay away from all the craziness. And the crazy people who took so many of our rights away at the end of this. Really folks- friends, family that voted for him I really do not share the desire to be around you now. The morals have changed. And I am not a bigot, racist, uneducated, all-around piece of shit. True colors are shown, bragging all you want how Trump is MAGA.
But those same people- you need to look at the plan. Really listen to him. I am just going to set back and when your insurance or check is cut in half, just say... Well you voted for him. Or when your daughter cannot do this or that, the care she needs? Huh... well he told you. Jobs cut due to tariffs. Price increasing, inflation even growing more and more.
Fuck around and you're getting ready to find out. Let's see what a year brings us, much less four.
