It has been an exhausting few weeks and an exercise in patience.
The last time I raised puppies was in 2005. I had two kids at home, my son helped, and I had a fenced yard.
The adjustment has reminded me of when my children were babies and I can see why people often reject puppies as destructive and messy.
It isn't fair to the puppies. They are trainable and my schedule is fluid. As long as I can get 4 hours of sleep a night I am good and the last couple of weeks I have actually adopted more animalistic sleeping patterns of just dozing during down time. I can do that though. My husband is even indulging in an hour nap when he gets home from work.
I have no regrets though.
