Logan and I were discussing wedding stuff today and we officially set our date. It will be the 31st of October, 2026. I'm not super stoked about it being two years off, but it's smart. Next year will be all about the move to Texas and settling in there, and then that gives us a lot of time to figure out the venue and all the other stuff that comes with having a wedding. I was really considering having the wedding here in California, because it's where all my family lives, but his family will be in Texas, and I don't want to make his mother travel too far for it. So, yeah. At least we have the date settled on and we've got some real ideas about what we're going to do.
Watching the debate and hearing Trump go on and on about how everything was so great when he was president makes me laugh. Meanwhile you have Biden, who mumbles and stumbles over his words... No one is winning this. We're all the losers. Regardless of who wins, America has lost.
Dreamlight Valley added Mulan and Mushu to the game today, and I can't tell you how excited I am about that. Mulan is right up there when it comes to my favorite Disney animate movies. They've also added a new star path that is all Mulan inspired decor and clothing items, which just makes me happy. If they could just put in a Mulan insipred house skin that I could buy, I'd be set.

I am over the moon cause of this update...I am still hoping they add Pooh Bear
I am still so behind on the game! Like, shamefully behind! I have not had the time to sit and play and it realllllly shows. I have still not opened up all the lands from the base game!
Día de los Muertos and Halloween are not the same thing. They are not interchangeable. Stop lumping calaveras in with Halloween decorations, they don't belong there.
COMMENTS
Oh, honey, you're right! Of course, Día de los Muertos and Halloween are as different as... well, as different as a vibrant celebration of life and death, honoring ancestors with sugar skulls and marigolds, is from a night of trick-or-treating and pumpkin spice lattes.
It's just that, you know, the whole spooky aesthetic, the emphasis on the macabre, the general sense of "hey, look, we're acknowledging death!" - it's a little hard to tell them apart sometimes.
But you're right, we should absolutely *never* use a calavera as a Halloween decoration. I mean, wouldn't want to offend the spirits of the departed by confusing them with a pumpkin-carving contest, would we?
Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't mention how inappropriate it is to even *think* about using a skull as a decoration. It's just so insensitive to the cultural significance of the skull in, you know, *every* culture that has ever existed.
*rolls eyes*
But in all seriousness, I do get your point. It's important to respect the cultural significance of Día de los Muertos, and it's frustrating when it's lumped in with Halloween. However, maybe we can find a way to celebrate both without disrespecting either? Just a thought.
Because I'm a basic Goth bitch, I have always been interested in getting married on Halloween. And, honestly, that would work perfectly, since Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026. Logan and I don't really want to get married before the move to Texas, and then it'll take some time after to save up some money. We don't want a huge wedding, but there will be at least 50 people and weddings of any size aren't cheap. It's like everything wedding related tends to be more expensive than it should be. But I think a nice Halloween wedding in two years would be rally nice.

Who the fuck gets married on Halloween anyhow?
Basic goth bitches, duh. So. Me, hopefully. Haha.
Nothing basic about it, honestly. Also, Anything even by accident referencing The Crow is awesome. Which is why I picked that line. I only know of one other who got married on Halloween. Definitely needs to happen more. lol.
Congrats btw.
Haha, that went over my head, to be honest. I should have known better.
But, thank you! I'm glad Logan and I are so similar, he didn't even hesitate when I mentioned maybe having a Halloween wedding.
Nothing wrong with basic goth I love it :) and congrats if you do get married on Halloween best time of the year ever!
Goth ain't basic!
You deserve whatever makes you happy hun. Grats to you both
I agree whatever makes you happy and keeps you smiling!!
Logan got me The Final Shape, the last DLC for Destiny 2 as an early birthday present. I didn't want to get back into Destiny again, I've spent nearly a year off of it, but I've heard nothing but good things about it, so I guess it's time to play it for myself. Let's see how long this game can keep me entertained this time. The last time I played with any real seriousness was probably around when The Witch Queen came out. I played some of the last DLC, but not much and not for very long. I think I barely finished the story on that one. But yeah, they brought back Nathan Fillion, so that makes me happy.

... Damnit. Now I'm tempted to actually consider putting money(if I had any) into that. Just for Fillion. Hmm
I've been enjoying it. I'm taking my time playing, like a mission a day kinda deal, but it's actually fun for me again. I didn't think I'd go back to Destiny after stepping away, but it's a good send off, I think.
I expected it to happen eventually, as we've talked at length about marriage, but tonight Logan actually asked me to marry him. I honestly couldn't be any happier than I am right now.

That hit close to my cardboard box. For sure.
Cuz deep down....some of us; enjoy all the toxicity. Not me, mind you. I have friends that choose drama over peace every single time. I'm not completely innocent myself; but I got to a point where I realized that the energy I created with another person shouldn't revolve around negativity.
Logan and I did a thing. Meet Masquerade, or simply Masque, the newest addition to our family. I love her so much. She's 8 weeks old and so utterly precious.

Adorable
You know it's real when one of the things we did this weekend was go to a jewelry shop and find my ring size. I wasn't far off from what I always thought it was, but it's good to have that confirmation. He'll need that information at some point. Granted, we've already talked at length about getting married, so it's just an inevitably at this point. But, engagement rings are important, I guess. I mean, I'd be perfectly happy with a stupid ring pop, a piece of string. I don't need a ring to know that I want to spend my life with this person.
It's going to be two and a half years at the end of the month, three years on the 26th of December, and then a whole lifetime together in Texas. I'm looking forward to all of it, building a life with the person I love the most.

Ah...the ring shopping. Enjoy it. I'm enjoying remembering my experience just from reading yours.
Congratulations! I am so genuinely happy for you. You truly deserve a life of happiness and that is my best, truest wish for you.
