I am always fascinated with creative people. I love seeing the world through the eyes of someone who creates beauty from the most ordinary of things. These kind of people seem to just know how to make us gasp in awe at their artwork. Someone we all know as a brilliant photographer here on VR is Morrigon Master Vamp and House Master of La Bella Oscuridad. I really wanted to find out if she had been born with a lens in her hand, if she was vampire or human, and if her puppies were up for sale...
I had arranged to meet with Morrigon at her latest photoshoot. I knew that she worked with painted models so I hoped I'd get to see some of the preparation involved (a naked model too of course), and maybe if I was lucky, learn a little about Morrigon herself...
As soon as I entered the studio, a beautiful sleek, chocolatey-haired creature sashayed towards me - a little short maybe but all the same quite the supermodel....I looked into the most beautiful brown eyes and fell in love just a little then. I offered my hand, got snaffled by the wetest nose, and grinned...Morrigon was nowhere to be seen at that moment but Pai had left his adoring model-friends to welcome me and more importantly, check if I had brought any treats.
Just then, Morrigon appeared from the midst of models and props and so I asked my first question: Who is Morrigon?
"Morrigon is Sarah, (first admission of real name during interview - ever) just an average person who grew up in a little town. I was born in Minnesota but spent most of my life in Wisconsin on a horse farm. I love MST3K, nachos, and rum. (Yes of COURSE at the same time...)"
I also wanted to know about VR-Morrigon. What does the VR experience mean to you, and what makes you a good Master Vamp?
"The VR Experience is truly about the people I make connections with here. I joined because I was interested in the folklore of Vampires and stayed because of the wonderful people. I was offered the position of the Master Vamp and I had serious doubts I would actually be good at it. I have a temper, a hard time letting go of issues and I'm terrible at shutting up. Getting to be a MV really helped me become more professional in general".
That lead me on to my next burning question...what, if anything about VR makes you (i) mad, (ii) sad, or (iii) bad?
"Mad: People who waste time rebelling against VR staff instead of going out and confronting actual life issues. We're not the machine you're trying to fight, we're just normal geeks who sign on to a site.
Sad: When people who have never spoken to me express their fear of me.
Bad: When Birra signs on and I see his smexy avatar on my friends list. I may be bad, but I feel... Good".
Well, who wouldn't feel good with an avatar like that...I laughed with Morrigon, I could see she wasn't bad at all. I mean, how could someone who makes things so beautiful have any badness about them? What really interested me about Morrigon though, was her ability to capture stunning moments on film. I wanted to know more about her photography and some of the techniques she used. I particularily wanted to know about the painting of models and the rich dark colours she was using at the moment. Where do your ideas come from, what inspires you at the moment?
"A lot of times models approach me with very general ideas and we put a concept together that way. Otherwise, I come up with ideas by observing what's around me. Art galleries, music, movies, and work by other photo artists inspire me constantly. A favorite inspiration technique is to pick a song and try to visualize what the song sounds like, and then make a shoot around that".
...and if I could give you your ideal photoshoot, what would that be? Anything is possible...
"We're planning on constructing a large temporary wall in the studio which will allow me to paint, wallpaper, or any other crazy stuff I'd like to do for a backdrop. That will definitely be ideal for me. Otherwise, I would love to work with a very talented fashion designer who makes unique clothing. To have an endless supply of costumes would be amazing. Many of the garments worn by models in my current images were donated or loaned to me by friends, family and fans".
I could see instantly that here was someone who strived for perfection in what she did and constantly surpassed even that. I also loved how Morrigon could take something ordinary and make it extraordinary. My interview had come to an end but before I left the studio, I had one last question. Can I have a puppy?...but I already knew the answer to that, I had to try 'cause these darned puppies were just sweet as pie.
"Unfortunately, all puppies are spoken for :(. I always advise people to check out http://www.drna.org/ - Dachshund Rescue of North America if they would like a dachshund and to help a furry friend in need. The Buffalo Dachshund Club, which we are members of, donates money to the cause".
Shame about the puppies but I was glad to hear that they all had good homes.
Thanks Morrigon!
**UPDATE: Morrigon is currently working on how to make a scabby toe look good with lighting and the perfect scarf...if anyone could do it, Morrigon could.

Some time ago, I really needed to buy a building for my firm but I did not earn enough cash and couldn't buy something. Thank heaven my mother suggested to try to get the home loans from banks. Thence, I did so and was happy with my consolidation loan.
