Regardless of your faith, how can you not appreciate a holiday with an emphasis on family and merriment? Great article. :)

"I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity."

Rated fairly, in my own opinion.

a lot of holidays actaully come from original solstice and equinox celebrations.... pagans called them sabbats which turned into the sabbath..

http://deoxy.org/time/sabbats/ for a list of the rest of them go there

Christianity as a whole has always kind of consumed religions in the geographical area it conquered for example the lady of Guadalupe or the virgin mary (from Mexico) has a lot in common with an aztec/maztec god that resembles mother their version of mother earth...

the Christians didn't always do this in a good way for example the snake in the eden story is a way to demonize a previous snake worshiping religion in sumaria also, lucifier was actually once the Egyptian male deity of love equivalent to Venus hence the morning star.

No no... that's not the origin of 'The Morning Star'. That passage in Isaiah is not even about Lucifer- but the fall of a Babylonian king. All pharoahs were called The Morning Star back then.
