It seems I have lost my mojo to a bout of influenza. Damn, I never felt anything coming on so quick, and I have lost my voice also. All I have is a squeak, but I have a devoted helper who just brought me Hot Ribena with dissolved asprin. All these small things mean so much to me. Think I'll go rest now.

I have family members living in Bethel, CT USA and currently they are home for vacation. He trains a football team over there and I am really proud of the both of them doing so well. Both of them called by tonight to say bye as they fly back to JFK soon. When they came home to Ireland they just surprised everyone by turning up on our doorsteps one by one! Wee monkeys! But it was such a fantastic Xmas surprise to see loved ones you didnt expect walk in your door! :) I shall miss them both much until they return with the American team to Ireland in July x

Well our thaw has started just as the snow storm hits New York. I shall not miss two feet of snow! but I must say the American made Dodge handled the snow perfectly and I was real happy with its performance :)

I received two beautiful perfumes for Christmas, "Play" by Givenchy and, "Guilty" by Gucci as well as some vouchers for Next and two local restaurants :) Hubby and I are going to Dublin during the holidays also :)

Christmas was awesome... it was my first time to cook a family meal at Christmas, and I aced it! Dad, Mum, my sister and everyone else enjoyed it very much :)

None of us are really fond of turkey, so I did fillet steaks instead with pepper sauce and roast potatoes, with carrots and parsnips cooked with maple syrup. I also had homemade vegetable soup, and traditional christmas pudding with vanilla custard and cognac cream for dessert.

A fun time was had by everyone and the hot mulled wine went down a treat :)

It is a little warmer in Ireland today and the temperature has risen by 7 degrees from -14C to -7C day time temperature..so we must be on our way to a thaw, and getting out of this freaky weather.

Yes, the environment, weather patterns and temperature are all a bit crazy now...we had an earthquake in Cumbria, England yesterday! The full moon was still high in the sky at 10am this morning! And Ireland is shivering under a blanket of snow the way it has never done before..

I am not a bringer of doom, and I do not wave a placard saying the end of the world is nigh..but what the hell is going on?!

We had the moon in the sky at 10am too and the sun was bright over the east...pretty strange I thought.

It sure aint thawing here...the temperature was at around -10 most of the day and still is at 10pm so hopefully it wont drop much more tonight because theres a hard frost on top of all the snow from the beginning of the week and pavements are a nightmare, not to mention how cold it is.

Wrap up warm and keep safe in Eire :)

In view of so many people suffering and struggling to make ends meet this Christmas, I just can't seem to get into the spirit of the holidays at all. :( People have been exploited by loan sharks just so they can have Christmas presents under the tree for their children on Christmas morning, and many people just will not be able to afford presents for their children at all. Men have lost their jobs, and those who are still gainfully employed wonder how long that will last. These are uncertain times :(

Families have been put out of their homes as the country slips deeper into recession and face being homeless this Christmas. Considering all this.. I have not sent out Christmas cards this year but made a donation to a charity instead. I also will be purchasing some beautiful dolls to take to the childrens' home and will distribute gifts to friends of mine in need. I know of one girl I admire for her strength and tenacity. she has a son and a daughter and every time I go to visit there is never any food in the fridge, so it is a forgone conclusion there will be no presents for the kids this Christmas.

So, if anyone is reading this and expecting a card.. I have saved the cost of that as part of a charitable donation this Christmas. But I DO wish you all a most wonderful, happy Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.

I feel very strongly about brutual violence towards people, and in particular woman.. no matter what the law says. This video is distressing and depicts a Muslim woman being beat and abused for wearing trousers :( Obslete Sharia law specifically, 'HADD' in my opinion has no place in any culture today.

It is about time the world had its eyes opened and see how badly women are treated in other countries. The amount of men standing around watching and laughing was just as humiliating for her as the whips! Sorry but most men are cowards and they do this to women because they are afraid of them.

xxEmaeraldxx
xxEmaeraldxx
18:25 Dec 15 2010

Yes, it was difficult to watch. The Sudanese woman had a protest march yesterday to their parliment.. I am glad they did as it helped to highlight their plight to the rest of the world. I am also glad that this particular entry had so many views in that maybe the readers can pass the story around and create an awareness as to just how inhumanely woman are treated by men and their governments in these under-developed, un-educated countries to others. There is no room, nor respect for this kind of behaviour in the 21st century.

It is not Christmas yet.. but if I see another bit of Christmas Pudding before then I swear I will throw up! We were out with family today for Christmas dinner at the local hotel. The kids were spoiled brats and annoyed everyone there as they were running wild inbetween all the tables. However, that seems 'normal' behaviour nowadays for young children to do. I would of got a good slap along my legs for doing that when I was a child! Do you think young children are spoiled nowadays ? Have manners been adequately addressed and taught by the parents?

If they were my kids, I would of taken them outside so everyone there could of enjoyed their lunch instead of having to listen to children run amok. Am I being a prud?

Inspired by a sad Moonie and Deity Pussy Production..a poem about the creation of the Vagina. *bows*

THE CREATION OF A VAGINA

Seven wise men with knowledge so fine

Created a pussy to their design.

First was a butcher, smart with wit,

Using a knife, he gave it a slit.

Second was a carpenter, strong and bold,

With a hammer and chisel, he gave it a hole.

Third was a tailor, tall and thin,

By using red velvet, he lined it within.

Fourth was a hunter, short and stout,

With a piece of fox fur, he lined it without.

Fifth was a fisherman, nasty as hell,

He threw in a fish and gave it a smell.

Sixth was a preacher whose name was McGee,

He touched it and blessed it and said it could pee.

Last came a sailor, a dirty little runt,

He sucked it and fucked it and called it a cunt

Everyone has their own points of view, so in that way no-one is wrong, and no-one is right. However, when we have rules and law and if you break that law, then your point of view is wrong even if you think you are in the right. So don't even waste your energy debating it.

My heartfelt condolences have gone out to three main players here on Vampire Rave who have lost their parent during the past six years...

They have all been so courgeous and brave in the face of such personal loss. It can never be easy losing someone tnat was close, and when my parents leave tbis earth, I only hope I can carry myself with as much dignity and grace as they did.

Forever in my thoughts and memory.

Little things, and thoughtfulness means so much more than money can buy. I love my husband dearly because when I fell on Friday he bought me a pair of, "Bearpaws" furry boots with non slip soles to help prevent it happening again. I am just that sort of person who appreciates the thought, and the small things in life that can mean so much...

I had to stay in for much of yesterday, but today I am going to head out to Belfast Christmas Markets with my sister and niece. The market sells some beautiful stocking fillers from continental northern Europe. I also get to wear my new Bearpaws :)

I've been having my share of bad luck over the past few days as I fell in the ice and badly injured myself. My right leg and arm are severely bruised, and I can hide the small facial one with a bit of make-up. My back and shoulder is sore for some reason too.

It could of been worse like a fracture, or broken bones and I would of been horrified if that had of happened. If I had of been heavy then I certaintly would of had fractures with the impact I took.

Anyway.. it is all in a lifetimes experience, I would rather take a fall like that than my car slipping in the ice. Thanks be for the 4 x 4 Dodge .. I still have that jeep that hubby got to keep me safe on the road. It's been a real investment.

So, thank God for small mercy's and no broken bones.. Gym, and my trainer session is cancelled for the weekend though.
