It's no news that girls usually feel inconfident about their bodies, to a different degree (from "I want bigger boobs" to "omg, I an 6 feet tall and 140 lbs, and I am a fat cow"). I am no different, so a friend of mine insisted we watch that british show called "how to look good naked". It's basically all about body confidence, and looking gorgeous at any size, and all that. But the problem is, I just couldn't wrap my mind around it. Say, if I see someone size 12, and she is beautiful - I would aknowledge that and definately would not think of her as fat. BUT, being a size 4 myself I just think "omg, I am a fat cow, don't even think of those cookies". It's like, it is easy to see beauty in other people, but really hard to actually apply that same view to yourself. I just don't get it, why does this happen?

Women tend to think less of their looks, while men tend to think more of theirs...go figure.

We are always the most critical of ourselves. I am a size 4 too, but I have had 4 kids, and have a little flabby belly. C-cection didn't help. So sometimes not eating that cookie is good. Just remember to splurge once in awhile or you'll go bust and eat the whole package! I've done it, so now I have a cookie now and then! lol

So the band is called Crank Witch, and the song name is Battle Beyond. I can listen to this song, sit still and feel my soul dancing it's ass off.

It it funny that chances are, I will hate the song in a couple of days? =)

So here is a theory (I'm sure it was proposed already, but I'll just throw it out there anyway): when humans are scared, the body produces adrenaline (oh really? ;)), which jump-starts sceletal muscle activity, heart beat and brain activity. Almost like some kind of in-vetro produced stimulant drug. Now, maybe those vampires who like to appear out of nowhere and do all other kinds of scary things before they bite into their victims are just poor little adrenaline junkies, looking for their fix along with the meal... Kind of like bears, who scare their meal to the point when the victim shits their pants, so that the guts don't taste all that nasty. Oh smart evil preditors =)

I know hunters swear that if an animal is frightened before it is killed, then meat gets ruined and ends up with a bitter terrible taste.

I heard about that too - that's part of the reason Kosher meat comes from an animal killed a certain way with a very sharp blade...

I was just watching way too many vampire movies in combo with drug-themed movies, and it occured to me that hey, adrenaline gland used to be an illigal drug source =)

Best meal for the hot summer.

Take a banana, 3 ice cubes, a handful of whichever frozen berries you have, add about a cup of milk and a splash of whatever flavored syrop you might have (sugar or maple will do). Blend it, pour it, suck it dry and run to the kitchen for more.

I know, I know, it's just a good old smoothie. But seriously, I've been living off those for a couple of weeks now. Smoothies and popsicles, because nothing else sounds even remotely reasonable to consume at this heat. Can't wait for winter to come

Protein powder sounds good - I turn out to never get enough of protein anyway. Now, for the oil - does it affect the taste? I probably should just go surf some specific forums and not torture you with questions =)

Ok, last question - would cranberry juice coagulate the yogurt?

The flax oil doesnt effect the taste at all, its just super healthy for you. As far as cranberry juice, im not sure, but if i had to guess id say no. :)

A birthday from hell

A cozy, friendly party in honor of a friend turning 21 gone so obviouly wrong, please don't even get me started on it.

The question is, why do some nice, intellegent people turn into complete pigs with no sence of self control after just a few drinks? Come on, either know your limit, or behave yourself when drunk, isn't it a common sense?

Ratings

01:52 Aug 05 2011
Times Read: 577

So far I had about 30 minutes of VR experience, and the first thing that happened to amuse me is the rating system. I have an account on LJ, and that is about the only social network I ever joined in my life, so the fact that I had to make my profile as presentable as possible the very first minutes of my membership just shocked me.

I mean, how do I rate someone's profile? Especially on a 1-10 scale? I assume that 5 is "OK", and 8 is "good", leaving 10 for "mind blowing" and 1 for "I threw up when I saw your profile". The problem is, I'm low maintanense - every profile I've seen so far was good =)

Now, if the ratings do not matter, then why are they even here on the website? I guess they do matter to some. Anyway, I can only speak for myself here - I am not going to get involved in the activity, so accurately described in russian internet slang as "дрочить на рейтинг". I'll just send my love to everyone =)

Ratings do matter as far as your score is concerned, you can go Here to see what I mean.

Rate a profile by what you think it deserves. I myself rate by what a profile has in it.

We all rate in different ways. A lot of members just hand out 10's. In the end a rate is just a rate. For me it's all about enjoying my time here. If I get a low rate i would like to know why, just so I can find a way to improve my profile. How you rate is entirely up to you. Some people take the rating system far too seriously... After all, in the big picture it's only a number. Getting high scores only really matter if you want to progress through the level system quickly. Good luck on your VR journey and have fun :)

Its all about the game. It is a game. Everyone has their own rating ideas and some of them are lame but that is the diversity of people here from 13 up and all walks of life. Some rate on whether they think your journal is in good order as well and a lot of extras which isn't really apart of it. I rate only on effort. If it shows a lot of effort put in then they will get a 10. The reason is that my taste might not be someone else's and also age factors. I don't try to judge but rate for the overall. If I hate it I don't hand out 1s, I move on and rate it later after the person gets a lot of bad ratings and the lights come on that no one wants to hear a bunch of whining and threats or sexual orientation information. Some worry about spelling and I do too but if it is slight I don't. I have made typos on my profiles so I spend time reading it and reading it again and making corrections. So I guess after you read the manual and see what is involved you will be able to judge how you want to use those numbers.

Most rate right away because the precentages of members on VR affect levels so they want to get it out of the way as soon as they can, otherwise the people pile up. You will see when you are here for awhile.

I don't think the ratings really matter, I always saw them as an incentive to visit other members' profiles.

Why are you so stupid?

01:29 Aug 05 2011
Times Read: 580

No, not You, of course. It's me, the one who is stupid. You see, when I was a kid and then a young teenager, I was so thrilled about my unique qualities, style and manners - but growing up and getting to know this world more just showed me that I copied all my characteristics from the sources I was not even aware of. Sure I was born with some of them, but still - I feel like a big fat copycat. Big Fat Copycat, that should've been my nickname, but it's too late now!

I guess it's just one of the sides of the infamous growing up process - realization that you are nothing new nor unique. Just have got to deal with that now, don't I?
