The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Last thursday I had my first session volunteering at the local cat shelter. It was amazing. There were five feral cats (more like semi-feral now) and it was really awesome trying to get them to play. One even came and sniffed my hand. I wanted to pet it but I knew it probably wouldn't like it so I didn't. One of the feral cats apparently was having a really hard time adjusting to being around people and I was told that she never comes out from under the couch. But she did. She marched right out and sat in the middle of the floor and just looked at me as the asking me what the hell my problem was. I'd like to think that it was because of my amazing cat loving abilties that made her feel comfortable being out in the open with people around, but it's probably more due to the fact that she's been around people for a while now and that just happened to be the moment when she decided to see what was up with us people folks. The other eight cats were really cute too. One of them, Austin, had small fracture in his hind foot, so we had to watch out for him. He kept getting adventurous ideas and kept jumping up on things. We had to keep putting him down because when he jumped off, there's no way he'd be able to not put weight on his hurt foot. And there was an 11 month old kitty there too. She was such a goof! She was pretty much just a baby herself, but apparently she had kittens already. and that was a few months ago when she was even younger! That's so sad! Another one of the cats had six toes on both of his back paws. He was really friendly and playful.

I guess this means I'm doomed. I'm totally on my way to becoming a cat lady. I haven'tbeen able to talk about anything other than cats since I've been there. I can't wait to go back!
