Boop.
I'm bored. Quick, someone give me an idea for a background, and I'll make it just for you.
*I prefer space related stuff, if possible. :]
Examples:
BAM!, BAM!, BAM!, and BAM!
First one to comment here wins.

First one to comment.
Something with...blues, or oranges, and maybe something like a giant cthulhu head, or something crazy, just stuff.
Best idea ever right there.
Challenge:
Find and read a description from a lovecraft story of one of his monsters, and then design that monster based on your intepretation of the design.
Damn.
Based on your interpretation of the description.
Yeah.
That's it.
Sorry.
No. Something orange and peaceful with a buddha statue, or Ganesha or something.
Okay. I'm done commenting.
Sorry.
Damn,Wormwings beat me to it. I was thinking Saturn. Saturn looks soo beautiful in starscapes or space shots.
So.. uh.. the uniforms that were designed for the US.. Did anyone else think they looked kind of stereotypical of France? Like, that would be something you'd find being worn in France? And, they didn't have the flag on them at all, which is rather.. What the hell were they thinking when the designed that? They were stupid, is what I'm getting at.
COMMENTS
Just goes to show you, were losing our patriotism. Of course this could be revenge for the statue of liberty jokes.
That's what happens when you let Ralph-Lauren design outfits.
They looked like the were all at a polo game or something, but then again, that's all he designs...
The term my mother used was "Flight attendants for Air France." And, it fits..
Yeah they did have the French look to them but what is worse is, they weren't made in America. They were made in China!
They were made in America. The US Senate found out that the designer wanted them made in China and threw a fit, demanding they were made in the US.
The uniform reminded me of the Navy. :P
The French were waving double sides French-English flags, too, which was confusing. And there were English Green Berets wearing... berets...
Updated the look of the profile. I used the lighter version of the image. Now, I just have to figure out what I want to put as far as information goes. This is the real hard part, I have to re-write what was essentially perfect as far as going into who I am. All because some jackass had to steal my words.
COMMENTS
You are a brilliant young women and I am sure a mind like yours will figure something out. The look is fantastic by the way dear.
I think I'm going to redo the profile. Again. I want my blues back. I like the shades of green, but I think I need to go back to blue. I miss the serene feeling that the blue shades give me. Plus, it's time to re-write things. It's long overdo, I think.
Do you know how you can tell that I am not interested in talking to you? I send one or two word replies. It's my way of maintaining some semblance of politeness while waiting for you to get the hint. So.. Get the hint already.
I'm growing out my nails after kicking a life long habit of biting them. They've gotten fairly long in the last year or so, and they make my hands look nice and like a lady when I have them all done up and painted and such. But, I broke my left thumb nail last night, or maybe it was this morning. I don't exactly know. But now, that's where my attention is constantly drawn to. All my other nails are nice, and long, and pretty, and then there's my thumb. And it looks like crap. I have to stop getting so worked up about broken nails, I swear. When it happens I act like it's the end of the world and it'll never grow back. But, it's a big deal to me, I guess. After twenty-something years of biting them, having them grow out is something major. And I like things uniform, and the same. And with one stupid nail being broken down the the quick, it throws everything off. It is so very annoying.
So, December 14th needs to get here. And it needs to get here, like, now.
COMMENTS
Amen. It just needs to come a few days earlier for my birthday. :D
HOBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIT! ♥ I've been waiting so long for this. I didn't expect it for another year - they kept putting it back.
Haha, you've made my day.
Watching Priest. I know the movie wasn't a real hit in theatres, but I am rather enjoying it. It's interesting.
Ha!
It started with this:
COMMENTS
Haha, yes!
I didn't say anything, but last night we played copious amounts of rap music while watching your avatar/squid man dance. I was held in rapture by the graceful movements of the elder God.
I might have changed the avatars for my four profiles to Doctor Who related gifs.. Just maybe. Because I'm a nerd like that.
But, dancing Ood, ftw!
We were supposed to be seeing the goddamn Batman tonight at midnight, but, sadly, that won't be happening. -tear- No Dark Knight for me. But, that's cool, we'll be going this weekend. It's not a big deal to miss it on opening night.
Updated the portfolio a bit. Added some newer (though most aren't new at all) images and updated some of the captions for some pieces. I may add more as I find other stuff worth putting in there.
Gah! I can't believe I forgot to watch The Closer on Monday. Thank goodness for DVRs, so I can watch it now. It's really going to suck when this show ends. But.. There is Major Crimes coming to replace it. It's got all the characters we love, minus Kyra Sedgwick and such. So, that should be interesting and totally worth a watch.
For someone who claims to be so "smart" and "accomplished," you sure do misspell a lot of simple words.
Watched Transformers: Dark of the Moon, or whatever the stupid title is. Boredom makes me do stupid, stupid things. That is so two and a half hours of my life I will never be getting back. Completely wasted. And the plot holes, oh my goodness the plot holes! I think Michael Bay gave up on actual stories for these movies at this point. It's all Autobot/Decepticon death matches for the whole duration of the film.
The End of Time special where Ten regeneragtes into Eleven always makes me cry. It's almost as bad as when Ten had to say goodbye to Rose. But, it's one of my favorite episodes, well technically, two of my favorite episodes if you don't count both parts as one. But, damn, is it a tear jerker. First you really feel for the Master, and the torment he's delt with his whole existance at the hands of the Time Lords, and then when the Doctor goes to say goodbies to everyone, and then his last line, "I don't want to go." It gets me every single time. This is why I love Doctor Who. It's more than the sets and the stories and the actors. It's the fantastic writing and the way it's so easy to fall in love with the characters. With each regeneration it's sad to see the pervious version go. I think I need some Torchwood to cheer myself up a bit.
Have you ever noticed.. Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares in Britian is so vastly different than its American counterpart. The British version is so polite and respectful, whereas the American version is full of drama and cursing and yelling at everyone. Sure says a lot about what Americans want from their television shows.
It would be so typical of me to pick the more depressing songs by Chameleon Circuit as my favorites. Right now I am listening to The Sound of Drums, and I swear, I want to cry. I was never a fan of the Master, but this song, it paints him in a new light for me. I want to just give him a hug. I guess it doesn't help that I am in this weird mood tonight.
Oh, and if you don't know who Chameleon Circuit is, and you're a fan of Doctor Who, go youtube them right now. They are an amazing band that was brought to my attention only recently by someone awesome, and I have fallen in love with their music. They consider it "trock" or, Time Lord rock, and really, they are fantastic. Truly fantastic.
You know what Netflix needs? Daria.
COMMENTS
Ooo I loved that show.
I have a ton of them recorded.
Now I gotta dig them out.
Oh, sleep, why must you elude me so? I would love nothing more than to sink into your embrace. And yet, you're staying always just out of reach. When I think you're ready to give in and steal me away, you quickly change your mind and start the game once more.
I think when the sun comes up I am going to have to go get some of the stuff that was suggested to me earlier. I am dead tired, but can't find the switch to turn everything off, and sleep is a fickle mistress, it seems.
COMMENTS
Melatonin...it works pretty well, but you should only take it right before bed, otherwise you'll wind up passing out on the floor, heh.
Hope you get some sleep soon, my Alice. =^.^=
Yeah, that's what was suggested to me.
After watching some (more. LOTS MORE) Torchwood today, I just have to say.. Screw every romance story in the history of ever. Jack Harkness and Ianto Jones win. They. Win. Everything.
Steamboy! I seriously love this movie. Steampunk is just the most fascinating genre/subculture.
I've been on a major Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Gibli kick today. I sat down and watched most of the movies I own that he's done. Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Howl's Moving Castle. Apparently my copy of Princess Mononoke is damaged, so I guess I'll have to get a new version of that. But yeah, his movies are the absolute best. I love the stories and the art. If only more films and filmmakers were like him and his.
So.. I think sleep hates me. Either that or I have thrown my inner clock all kinds of off. I toss and turn until three or four in the morning, then sleep restlessly until about nine. It's not working for me anymore. I think I may have to look into getting some over the counter sleep aids.
COMMENTS
If you haven't before, I'd suggest trying melatonin first. For me, it works much better than anything else I've tried. And it doesn't have the problems with developing a tolerance, grogginess, etc. that most sleep aids have.
sounds like me lol
This is going on my profile, forever. Why? Because, fuck you, David. ORIGIN, EXILED, FALSExCURE, xXLEGIONXx, or whatever the fuck else you want to call yourself. You stole my words, so you get a special place on the profile you copied. Petty? Probably. But, meh, what can you do? Sometimes you've just got to get it all out there.
If you feel like you've read my profile before, or at least, bit and pieces seem to be familiar, it's probably because you have. There's a member, who apparently is so enamored with me that he had to go and copy my profile. Sometimes verbatim. And then, he has the gall to deny it and claim it's merely coincidence. Yeah, see how many people actually buy that nonsense. He's taken all that I am and twisted it into some sick mockery. He's made it a joke. The member in question is xXLEGIONXx. But, he also goes by ORIGIN, EXILED, FALSExCURE, and every profile that's in his Coven, Midnight Symphony. He's got other profiles aside from the ones I've named off here, so don't be fooled. I mean, who steals someone else's profile and then claims that that isn't the case? That their profile is so similar because the English language is limited and repetitive? That's the worst excuse in the history of bad excuses. The English language is far from limited, there are so many ways to say something. So, when a number of sentences from my profile are found on his, word for word, or nearly so, that's really quite telling. I was going to just rate him all the time, posting a comment that showed him for what he was, but sadly, he's blocked me. Apparently he can't handle the truth. So instead, he gets this special place on the very profile he copied. I suppose that's good enough.
What's this? Oh, only the comment I left, showing what he is. Before he blocked me, of course. I suppose it's smart that I thought ahead and saved it. :]
COMMENTS
...Can't say I'm surprised by his actions...but in letting him push you far enough to do this, aren't you concerned he'll see it as some sort of win?
Glad you feel better :)
What a crazy asshole.
I still don't understand why he would do that LOL I guess the world of vr will never know o.O
I,m sorry this happened to you hon, and we both know its not gonna change some people on here just do not have any imagination so they are unable to write something for themselves and they end up stealing other profile words . I hope you get this resolved .
You won't reply because you're mad that I figured it all out? You can play stupid all you'd like, but if you know what to look for, you're pretty easy to spot. You don't need Admin powers to know who exactly the profile belongs to. After that first message I had it nailed down. You're not as crafty as you think you are, buddy.
I don't know why you stole my profile, and really, I don't care. If you want to screw with me, so be it. I can't stop you, and I can't make you change things. Just know, I know the truth about you. I thought we were okay, but at heart you're nothing but a liar. Trusting you was my fault. Silly me. But, no more. Say what you will, spout whatever excuses you want, play whatever part you so desire. It's the internet after all, be whoever the hell you want to be, but leave me out of it. I want no part. And, I think you're beyond low for what you've done. There's no redemption.
Comic-Con in San Diego.. I should so be there right now.
COMMENTS
I'm going here in NOLA in November.
So jealous. Our Comic-Con's over here are dodgy as. We never get anyone interesting.
I had to do this, I had to compare the two profiles.
COMMENTS
Yep,thats just a little creepy.
...This is...disturbing.
I promise I have no desire or plans to get into a long debate or drawn out battle over this but I feel the need to at least comment, to defend myself somewhat, if you will.
You came to my profile last night and at first rated me highly, even though you noticed similarity. You brushed it off as perhaps you being self-centered. I'm starting to see why you may have thought that.
You see even in the vastness of human language, even more so with English, there are limits. As I told you last night it still has it's limitations and repetition.
Simply take a look around us at 90 % of the profiles here. In each one you will see like styles and phrases. The way people word things and form concepts, even down to the nature of ones layouts are often "copies" of one another.
But now you come back and re-rate me low and accuse me of stealing "your" words, to twist them for some unseen sick pleasure. To create as you say a crappy copy. A bit harsh but I hold no grudge against you for it. We are all entitled to our own perceptions and ego's. I just find it odd that out of so much there you only really find or at the least take note of 12 small sentences or sentence parts.
I wish you the best but have no plans to change or rewrite my profile because it has coincidental similarity with yours or for that matter many others here on this site and countless others around the world. I do thank you however for taking the time to read it so in depth, its indeed a rarity anymore.
So this is...coincidence?
A million monkeys with a million typewriters, I suppose?
Exactly my line of thinking. There's no coincidence about this, despite what's said.
xXLEGIONXx: Language has it's limitations and repetition? My gosh... English is far from limited- and if you are as intelligent as you are speaking/typing, you know this very well. You can express something countless different ways. But here you are expressing at least 12 things *exactly* the same as another VR member using the same words. If this were a VR article it would have been suspended for plagiarism- and if this were a college essay, you would have gotten an F and kicked out of the University for breaking the code of ethics. Period.
COMMENTS
They do seem very similar to me. Just reworded a bit.
It seems like the wordings were re-phrased ... hmm ... Im hoping its a coincidence.
That awkward moment when you find someone else's profile that reads almost exactly like your own. What weirdness is this?
COMMENTS
Could it be your other account hehe ;>
Ha, unless I took on a whole new personality other than my normal self. And created a new profile without my knowledge.
Homemade queso plus homemade tortilla chips makes for the Best. Lunch. Ever.
Right now, sleep sounds like the best idea I have ever had ever. This heat is killing me and it's making me so freaking lazy. Can we have winter back, please? I am totally over summer.
COMMENTS
...I hear that. My A/C broke down this morning...yeesh.
Sleep well! :)
I know what you mean here in Merced its super hot too only a few hours from u, this heat is to much
General observation, a whole lot of the member base here seem to be idiots. Just right, flat out idiots.
Example: I saw someone's cam topic, at the end was this gem. NO SKANKS ALLOWED! Yeah, idiots.
COMMENTS
Idiots, indeed. You said it well!
...Nothing surprises me anymore. *sigh*
The final six episodes of The Closer start tonight. I am going to miss this show. It's like House, something I have been watching for years, and now it's ending. And, there aren't many good shows on television anymore, so there's nothing to really replace it.
COMMENTS
I'm going to miss it too :( It's one of the few shows I have been watching since the pilot episode. I've loved all the twists and turns and the characters are so much fun!
I have to say I'm kind of mad that there is only 6 episodes for the last "season." Though I understand not wanting to drag things out forever, but still, only 6 episodes?!
So, the profile has a new look. I love the greens and golds in the background. I really do. I used the darker version, the lighter one I may put on Dream or use on my Mentorship. Now I just have to figure out what I want to write up. Or, if I even want to write up anything new at all. I think I may just be lazy and leave it as it is.
COMMENTS
Both are really nice. :) Lighter for a while, then darker, change it out?
I agree:) ...u do some awesum work:) see which works better with your content? If u don't like it its easy to switch it:)
So, I created this image for my new background. I'm still unsure if I like it or if I'll put it up and use it. It didn't turn out quite like I wanted it to. And, you know, no stealing and blah, blah, blah.
COMMENTS
It's pretty amazing...try it and see:)
It's important that you like the background, obviously, but I loved it, it looks soft and weird, and crazy and Lovecraft. So yeah, it's great.
I think its beautiful , very peaceful .
Got done with a new background, however I am unsure if I actually like the way it looks. I think I shall keep tweaking with things, see if I can satisfy myself. Or I may just scrap it and start all over.
I'm thinking it's time to overhaul the profile. I want to create something that matches the Unnamable in look and feel. I just have to figure out what I want to do for a background. I don't want to use the one I'm using in the Coven, but I think I'll do something similar to it. I love the greens and golds.
I find it odd that people have been coming out of the woodwork messaging me since I changed my main profile image/avatar. It's kinda creepy.. People I haven't heard from for months or years, or well, ever, are sending me messages and being all friendly. And, shocker, all of them are men. I don't know what it is, but it's really awkward. Is my image that misleading, do you people actually think I am nice and really want to talk to you? If I don't make an effort to contact you, it's probably because I could care less. And, it's always the same, they view my profile then my portfolio. There are only ever one or two pictures of myself on any of my profiles for a reason: I don't want you weirdos looking at me.
COMMENTS
Yep, I get bored alot around here because of the very small list of people I talk to, but then again, I don't really have the right to complain because I don't avidly seek to enlarge said list, and I just don't care for most everyone.
As long as I got our forum I'm content really. haha.
That's a nice *fap* picture you got there. *fap* Maybe sometime you'll *fap* want to talk? *fapfap*
How did I just see this comment? He always leaves the best comments, things that make me smile.
"So, you know how this website happens to have a ton of really well, generally unintelligent, savage members? Well, those people will always try to keep stuff started, and will always resort to petty tactics and insults to try and get their way. That's fine, I think what may be even worse than them resorting to these tactics as a sort of desperate attempt at gaining leverage in any given situation is when they sound off and comment on particular things when no one has pushed their buttons. Just as V.R houses a ton of these...people, v.r happens to be home to a very few amazing individuals. Individuals with a capacity for expressing themselves through art, really talented people. People that obsessively poor over the printed word. People that...are just, generally intelligent, talented, and well...human. I don't know man. This comment is starting to get all rambly and not make much sense. Long story short there's a ton of shit on this website, and only a few good members, and you're one of the best. Don't forget that you are important to alot of people, and that you outshine thousands."
For the first time in forever, I actually failed the Acolyte test. By one question. Just goes to show I should never rush through it, and despite what I may believe, I do not know all the answers. Well, I guess I can go 30 days without the title. I still have it on Dream.. I took that test last week with that account and I passed yet failed here. Bad Immy.
COMMENTS
I have blown that test 4 times, and always be 1-2 questions
It's just bad, because I've been an Acolyte for four years or so (not counting the year as a Dominar). So, for me to fail it is pretty sad.
Well kudos to you because u do it in multiple accounts plus Dominar? Wowza...that's awesum:)
People 'round here be crazy. Seriously. Thank goodness there are those few voices of reason.
In other news, I probably won't be around much in the coming days. We're having family over for the holiday which means cleaning the house from top to bottom. Also, my mother is off work until Monday, so we'll probably end up doing stuff on Thursday and Friday. I think I may go visit my uncle Del one of those days, just hang out and help him if he needs it. Plus, I miss Berry, my cousin Robert's beautiful husky. I saw him on Saturday and we played a bit, but I am sure he could use some major attention that my uncle just can't give him right now. So yeah.
So, I got this book, Germ, out from the library today. I started reading through it, it's proving to be quite interesting so far. But, the last person to check it out left a stub from the showing of Amadeus from back in November at Azusa Pacific University in as a bookmark. And now.. this song has been stuck in my head all day. There really was no decade quite like the '80s when it came to music. Rock me, Amadeus!
Hit up the library and got some collections of Lovecraft stories. My Lovecraft collection is just about nonexistent. I really should remedy that. But, I've got nowhere else to shove books right now. My bookshelf and the top of my dresser are just exploding with books right now. I could pack away some of the ones I don't read often, but, that means packing up my books, and I just don't do that. unless I really have to. I also got one called Germ, it sounded interesting, so we'll see how that goes.
I had to give up on reading Anne Rice's new book,The Wolf Gift. As much as I wanted to enjoy it, because she's a fantastic writer, I just couldn't get into it. I don't know why, the book itself, or rather, what I read of it, wasn't bad or boring. I guess it just wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe I'll attempt to read it again at a later date, but for now it just didn't cut it with me. It may also be because I was still caught up in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire. I need the next book, and I need it now!

You can always go digital with a kindel
That would involve having to buy an e-reader. Plus, I am not a big fan of those. I'd rather have the physical book. I can't stare at a screen for hours on end, I much prefer type on paper. It's less straining on my eyes. And, there's nothing like holding a book in your hands.
I have the complete lovecraft collection in one book, and five or six small anthologies that contain certain sets of his stories, and I have a couple of books of stories written by people that received help from him. I love anything Lovecraft.
I bought the Interview With the Vampire, and another book by Anne Rice, but I've never read anything by her and someone mentioned how horrible those books are so I'm apprehensive about trying to read them. Good thing is though, I bought them from a second hand book store for like a dollar. haha.
We should be complete nerds about the Lovecraft thing and pick the same story to read at the same exact time and then gush about it. ha.
Mostly joking...*shifty eyes*

With all the Doctor Who fans running around here, you'd think someone would recognize a few lines from the show. I keep getting messages about my kismet.. It's weird. Well, to set the record straight..
COMMENTS
I've never seen a single episode of that show, but I feel as if I might like it a little.
Never?!? My goodness, how is that possible? You should watch it. It's a fantastic science-fiction show. The best, actually. The best ever. If you have Netflix, they stream the episodes from the reboot in 2005 up until last season. :]
Oh, so you don't like books then? :)
I prefer and Doctor before the 90's, the older shows just have an air about them.
Absolutely! The older shows, from the '60s, '70s, and 80s and such were awesome! But, it's so hard to find all of them to watch online. And, some of the best versions of the Doctor came before the 2005 reboot. Four (Baker) is my absolute favorite out of the eleven.
