Haha, so many people have looked at my profile after reading the journal post about me losing Dominar. I haven't lost it yet, but Images has sent word to Cancer. Silly people.

Bye bye Dominar.

It's all for the best, I think. Right now I can't pretend to be interested in VR anymore. I have other things to focus on. It was fun while it lasted, and maybe in the future I can pick it up again if I feel like I used to about this place. But right now, right now I just can't focus on things here.

I'm finding it hard to care about anything right now. Especially anything related to VampireRave. I have to wonder why I've invested so much of my life, my time, into this stupid site. I mean, what's the reward? A silly title on a silly website. Yeah, I'm really going places. I think three years, ten months and some-odd days is enough. It's time to remember what really counts, and it sure as hell isn't this place.

Deletion may be forthcoming. Or, maybe I'll just give the account away, because of the whole lifetime membership thing. I'll need to think on this.

All moved in, and I've got internet again! All that's left to do is unpack everything, and then stencil my bedroom, and we'll be all set.

I won't be back at full capacity until everything's been unpacked, which may take two or three more days. But, I'll be able to pop in and check on things around here. :]

It just started to rain pretty hard, and, every few minutes there's a clap of thunder. My cats are going nuts, they're really frightened by the noise. Mongo just climbed into the cabinet under the sink in my bathroom, and Ishtar is under the blanket right next to me, shaking every time there's a noise. Only Aphrodite seems to be unfazed by the noise. It's rather funny.

I was seriously thrilled that the Saints won the game yesterday. Not because I'm a fan of them, or the sport in general, but because they really deserved it. New Orleans really deserved the win for all that they've had to deal with in the past handful of years.

But anyway, moving on, since it's over with and done now. Only four more days stuck in this crap apartment. I'm really excited to get into the new place. Though, this week is going to suck. There's still so much to pack, it's unbelievable who much crap is in this tiny apartment. I will probably be without internet Friday, since the guy won't be able to install until Saturday, not that I would have been able to get on anyway, what with unpacking and such.

So yeah.. yay Saints, and yay new townhouse! :]

This is my favorite song from The Prince of Egypt, Deliver Us. The woman who sings the part of Moses' mother, Ofra Haza, I love her voice. Enjoy the beautiful music.

And Matthew, go watch the movie. Now! :]

Awesome flick! I have it on DVD, saw it in the theater when it came out- my husband and I were on leave and it was my first time in Miami. That movie reminds me of that- my first trip to meet my in-laws :P

You know, while I haven't been Christian for quite a number of years, I do still enjoy the stories, and from time to time, I can be seen reading my copy of the bible. But, people really get weird when they see me watching movies like The Prince of Egypt. It's all, "I thought you were atheist. Why are you watching something like that when you don't believe it?" Why? Because the stories are interesting to me. And the way the story of Moses is presented in The Prince of Egypt, I love it. I really do. My dad had taken my brother and I to see it in the threatre when it first came out. I was still questioning things then, and the movie made a huge impression on me.

I don't believe it, no. I find it far fetched to think that there is a god, and s/he allowed such miracles as the burning bush, and the parting of the Red Sea. But, it doesn't mean I can't enjoy the stories, the lessons to be learned. And, The Prince of Egypt is a truly beautifully done film. The music, the art, the voice acting, Dreamworks amazed me when they came out with it.

So, why is it so bad that I watch the film? That I still read the Book? That, even to this day I listen to gospel music? I may not believe in the subject matter, but it doesn't mean I can't appreciate it.

I have no clue why you're an atheist or why anyone would be but it's none of my biz. However, I do agree with you that you can watch whatever you want. I mean I'm sure you watch either horror or sci-fi flicks, you don't believe those do you? The Bible is filled with amazing stories and even if you don't believe in God they still hold lessons for everyone and make a really great read.

As for that movie specifically, it was great. Loved the animation and music.

And about the subject matter, there's been a lot of evidence recently that Moses and the plagues of Egypt's all really did happen or easily could have happened (including the parting of the Sea of Reeds, not Red Sea, that was a simple mistranslation of 1 letter). Now, I believe God used natural phenomenon to cause them but they are explainable without him as well.

You can appreciate whatever you want. screw the ones that try to put you in a label. i do find it interesting that when someone says they are an atheist, people cannot resist bringing up so called proof in their comments to this journal entry. Live and let live people.

To prevent any more confusion about my comment. The proof (proof shouldn't be ignored by anyone with a brain) I was referring to, as stated, was dealing with Moses and the plagues. I didn't bring 'proof' of God or anything else.

A lot of people think that this particular story is nothing but a fairy tale and I was simply stating that it wasn't. There was a guy named Moses, there was a place called Egypt, it had a Pharaoh who knew Moses and at that time several plagues and other tragedies did in fact happen as told by the Bible. The Old Testament may hold no spiritual significance for a lot of people but it does describe a ton of actual real life events, many of them have evidence...such as Moses.

I hope the owner of this journal could see that (and since she's a smart chick I'm sure she did).

I was reading Neil Gaiman's Smoke and Mirrors last night. I've read through this collection of short stories and poems many a time over the years, I just love the way he writes. Anyway, I stumbled upon my favorite poem by him, titled Vampire Sestina, and, I figured I'd share it here with you.

Vampire Sestina by Neil Gaiman

I wait here at the boundaries of dream,

all shadow-wrapped. The dark air tastes of night,

so cold and crisp, and I wait for my love.

The moon has bleached the color from her stone.

She'll come, and then we'll stalk this pretty world

alive to darkness and the tang of blood.

It is a lonely game, the quest for blood,

but still, a body's got the right to dream

and I'd not give it up for all the world.

The moon has leeched the darkness from the night.

I stand in shadows, staring at her stone:

Undead, my lover . . . O, undead my love?

I dreamt you while I slept today and love

meant more to me than life -- meant more than blood.

The sunlight sought me, deep beneath my stone,

more dead than any corpse but still a-dream

until I woke as vapor into night

and sunset forced me out into the world.

For many centuries I've walked the world

dispensing something that resembled love --

a stolen kiss, then back into the night

contented by the life and by the blood.

And come the morning I was just a dream,

cold body chilling underneath a stone.

I said I would not hurt you. Am I stone

to leave you prey to time and to the world?

I offered you a truth beyond your dreams

while all you had to offer was your love.

I told you not to worry and that blood

tastes sweeter on the wing and late at night.

Sometimes my lovers rise to walk the night . . .

Sometimes they lie, cold corpse beneath a stone,

and never know the joys of bed and blood,

of walking through the shadows of the world;

instead they rot to maggots. O my love

they whispered you had risen, in my dream.

I've waited by your stone for half the night

but you won't leave your dream to hunt for blood.

Good night, my love. I offered you the world.
