When in fact- the only real power you have is to hit the little red box on the top right hand side.

Kat Von D speaks out following controversy over lipstick called 'underage red'.



Been reading this story- and how stupid is it? She had a fuss before on her names and I have to say it was stupid back then.



I mean- really? Under age red.



You don't want your kid to wear *shocked* red lipstick- then don't buy it. Or is they buy it- make them return it.



My Mom? She argued with my dad so I could dye my hair at 13 or 14 years old. She let me get my ears pierced- and I still to this day only have one hole in each year- at the same age if not younger against my dad wishes. But once he got over the 'shock' of it- as Dad's do- he was fine with it. Never spoke of it again.



Now- if I said I wanted a tat or lip pierce, I know both of them would of said "No, no way." Come on- they was born in the late 1920's. You could only push so far.



And red lipstick? Hell yes I wore it. It is a freaking color... Not like I wore fishnets stocking and hoe shorts with it. And hold on to your crucifix- I even wore red nail polish at that age. Jeans, black sweater, red on the lips and nails was flat out pretty. And I felt beautiful wearing it.



You read about all the issues teens have these days, is the shade of lipstick going to harm you? Is it and it alone going to get you with child at age 12? Is it and it alone going to make you take drugs? No.



Is the beauty of a nice red lipstick going to help you? Get you noticed? Build up that confidence? Show you what it is like to be yourself, and not let anyone else tell you what you should and shouldn't be wearing? I think so.



Good lord the things people pick on today. I thank the gods for my parents every time I read such stupid things going on in life.

I've been reading about the controversy surrounding this lipstick as well too. I think it's silly how people are fit throwing over the name of this shade, when there are much worse lipstick names out there.

What is the name even supposed to imply? It's not called "Child Vagina" so people need to just chill out.



Lack of education and self respect are what hurts teens these days, not red lipstick.

My dad was against all kinds of things and still is, but my mom was so...understanding, and while making sure I knew it wasn't exactly something she approved of she still wanted me to be happy. Thanks to my mom I was able to dye my hair, and get facial/lobe piercings and tattoos, and all kinds of things. Granted by the time I was getting tattoos I no longer had to have a parent signature lmao, but still. The fact that some people are outraged by this name is...well, way more shocking than the actual name. It's 2015.

Yeah...I can think of more pressing things to gripe over...

I know that my mom would have given me a big HELL NO to any make-up, tats, or piercings (other than the ears) when I was growing up. The funny thing is - I was never interested in any of it until I hit my mid-twenties, and I still have no tats nor any piercings other than two holes in each ear.

Nerds be like that. LOL

It's likely the name of the shade that has everyone so pissed off. Though what some fail to understand is, it's not the shade of lipstick or anything about the way you present yourself that makes you a delinquent or deviant but the decisions you make. Gah, if only more understood that right there maybe a name like that wouldn't be so "controversial".

If it was "Underage Yellow" nailpolish, not nearly as many people would throw up a fuss about it. Red is really nice. Red could be the rosy, innocent cheeks, the colour of blushing flowers (a metaphor in itself), blood and so many other things.



And considering it's mainly women who wear make-up, which is seen as an exploitation in of itself... yeah - I don't have a problem with it.

I have to have a work rant. So.... yeah.



Just got off the phone with a lady who is trying to get me to do a Code J military job. Now- taking into account it is in a town 50 miles away so.. 100 mile trip. Even with only 1 man needed to do the job, the paper hold baggage container that cost me $45.00. Take in some paper, few cartons, paper pads and the man's labor of $13.00 a hour by the time I pay his insurance, SS in... maybe 4 hours total of driving, packing, getting a weight, marking the box... total of my cost should be about $120.00 min. That is without me making any money- just cost.



She offered me $ 100.00, maybe $125.00 at the most.



I understand you are having issues getting folks to handle jobs. I understand you only have so much to offer for the service that you are asking me of as a provider. I understand all that.



But it is not my goal to lose money. Sorry- but it flat out isn't. I didn't set the rates, nor do I do the jobs anymore that go by these rates. Why? The whole lose money thing. I have cut out as much expense as I can, took phone line out, internet, not paid myself for 3 years. Let go the full time office help years ago... so...There is no more cutting I can do- floating as it is. Have to say last year was a little better, and I got some truck repairs done that wasn't planned on. *is it ever?*





But then I get the call back from customer for Wen job- he has to cancel, can't get off work to come back to town to do the move. The next day work, which was going to be using a pick up to haul items as the driveway is washed out... she canceled.



So here I am- one job they have asked me two times to do that would lose me money, and jobs I want cancel.



Rock- welcome to the hard spot.



Can't win for losing.

Last 17 days we have set records for the amount of snow, and tonight should set records for cold as in -6.



Records on snow? 25 inches.



Not in out town- we got 14 inches on President Day. Then drop in temps that lead it to stay for two weeks. It just melted on Monday/ Tuesday. Wednesday it rained and lead to floods in the area, melted the snow.



Then before sunrise this morning it got cold and we was blessed (?) with 3 to 4 more inches of snow.



o.O



But then it is to be in the 40's by Tuesday so this snow will not stay for two weeks like the last one.



But tonight is record setting cold, so let's see what that brings.

Been lucking here in Indianapolis this year only had like 14 inches of snow all year and wind chill of -27 so mild after last winter.
