I notice these last few months my internet has been a issue. I mean a real pain. Nothing new- so I dealt with unplugging and plugging in the little box, and went on.
Sunday my phone was out. That was new.
And on Wednesday my sister called on my cell phone at Cat's to tell me that my home phone said "Not taking calls." Uhhh... ok.
I get home about bed time to find phone dead, internet gone off line. Even the little lights on the black box wasn't on for those two services.
So come Thursday I called Time Warner and had it out with the guy who got my call. For 160.00 a month- at least it could work. After twice telling him I was at work, could not 'plug in' the laptop, could not reset his little black box- he informs me he would call my cell at 6:00pm that night.
He did. But all my services was working so not much we could 'test' now, is there?
He did inform me he had kept a eye on my account and thru out the day the monitor had drop 5 to 6 times. When I wasn't home even.
So he put in a service call. I expected a week but nope, today. This morning to be exact.
He called, one who knew me because of the above mentioned issues for the past months. He is outside, I waited for him to come in, waited. and waited.
He knocks on the door and come in to me starting the "I don't know what the deal is. The phone is dead at random times, the internet just keeps dropping me..." He listens and says "I have you issues solved."
"Oh?" thinking I will hear the pitch again, the reasons why they tell you every time you call- he shocks me with "Your neighbor was tied into your line. He was stealing your cable, and internet. Your phone in on the internet line so that is what was making it drop." "Uhhh... what?"
lol
Yeap, dude climb on top of the utility/ light pole on the street and put a spliter on it. He should it to me, rusty and in bad shape. "Only way it was found was you having these issues." "How long do you think he has done this?" "About 8 months or so, I guess."
Well- in other words as long as he has lived there.
Fucker.
"Password- you need to put one on it." "I just can't firgure out how to, the router info... no clue where the book is." The man took the time to help me set up a password, so even if the guy was to climb back up on the pole to steal it again- it is locked.
Hey- I live under a hill. No other internet even pulls up on the wifi connection, and that is with my sister's only about 20 feet from me. I told him I just didn't think anyone could use my internet, which he said he would agree as he understood my cell phone even hated this place.
"But he used a cable, safe to say he had done it before."
Well- hope when you come home, with the kids, you find out the free ride has ended.
Have a good weekend- asshole. I know I will as my internet is running faster then it has in months, and my phone is up and running.
Hope you enjoy your weekend, I will.
I tell'ya... reading some of the things on here, from profile to kismets... I should really use my skill at story writing to become the biggest slut on here. lol
Then I think...... Nope.
:)
Just watched The Last Ship- wonderful song that fit the story line. Love when this happens.
Great song- touches the soul. Or at least mine right now in my life.
Nothing like having your maintenance done by a national company on the forklift and the guy hands you a booklet that reads "If you died right now, are you sure you would go to Heaven?" as he ask you to sign the paperwork.
Reading the news this morning- really glad I kept my crappy hospital only health insurance, sliding in under the grandfather act of the Obama Healthcare instead of changing over to the President's plan.
Just don't know why anyone believed it was going to work.
I mean- I liked the whole 'limited' charges, set rates.
But who was going to pay for this? Millions can't afford it- didn't the problems with SSI teach us anything?
*shakes head*

Easily done..... all we have to do is stop invading middle eastern countries and reduce the military budget by 50%. Then again that was on money borrowed from China.
Ha. See- I agree to a point with that. We so need to cut back all we spend and give other countries.
But that is a deep subject, so many ways to see it.
Ever just been afraid of the dark? That was me last night- could not sleep, every little noise waking me when I did. If not the dreams... wow, the dreams.
I mean the waking up, catching your breath, jumping out of bed kind of dreams. The calling of your sisters saying "Can I come sleep with one of you?" kind of night.
Safe to say I spent the night with the light on but still it was a rough night.
My own fault- watching a scary movie right before bed. Just didn't remember Sinister being that creepy.
Dreams are still with me, even as I sit on my office. Under the bright lights, mind you.
See I got called a cunt again, on my comments.
Shame as you are already gone before I found it.
Sucks being on that list of "Never to be allowed" on the site again, isn't it? And all before I ever became an Admin.
That whole 'you made your bed".
But hey- you just keep it coming.
Lord knows you will not take the hint and move along.

I really dislike this time of year. If it isn't the heat, the allergies, and all the light of the day. *Yes, I miss it when it gets dark at 5:00 pm.*
But... what irks me most....
There is nothing ... NOTHING... on TV.
:(
Ahhh... the book on my nightstand is calling me.

I think it is a little tacky to post in House/ Covens in the Alliance you was in as a member- to go into their Forums (the Welcome thread even) and link the new Alliance you went to. As in "Come join.."
Really?
Might just be me but....
Nah.
Tacky.

Luvs you too Rattie. ;) How can I not.. my cute lil fluffy bundle of adorable!
Oh wow. That's more than tacky. That's just classless, period. What is wrong with the world these days??
A few weeks ago a dear friend of our family asked for a favor of me. She handed me a old photo of her and her ex hubby, the father of her two kids, and wanted me to try and 'save' as much as I could as it was a photo of them when they first got married. Thing is- the photo was burnt, had water damage from a home fire years before.
She could tell I wasn't really wanting to do it, as little help could I give it. You want a zit gone, lashes added, smooth skin, balance of light in a photo I am your gal. But this... way over my head.
So I took it, her words of "If nothing else, maybe just our faces." I felt sad for her as this was her history and the man she loves, still, even today.
So I downloaded it onto my computer and gave it another view with a 'I can do this- help her." attitude to only give up. There was nothing I could do for this photo, even a close up of the faces. Shame as she had a lovely dress on, he was in a black suit with a white shirt, tie. And they stood in a living room of a family member.
I went online and found three websites, asking for quotes on restoring damaged photos. One was only $45.00, and his reviews sucked. So I went on to the other two. One did not answer my request and a email got the answer of "No help- can't repair" more or less.
So I waited. The third one sent back a price, and all the repairs she would do. After I got over the shock of the price, knowing my friend would never afford this, I ponder on it. As her daughter has helped us so much with Mom at that time, I went ahead and put it on my credit card.
I have to say- so worth it! The lady sent me back a whole photo. I mean- she finished the dress, the little white gloves showing on her hand that the burned photo only hinted at wrist area. His suit, his long legs, so spot on. The blue of her dress, a sky blue... wonderful. She filled in the background, gave the old radio sitting on the table legs, finished it up.
For this being the only copy, burned, water stained and half of it burnt away- she gave it life.
Well worth the price, even if it takes me two months to pay off the cost. Why? My friend loved it. And her daughter loved it as well. :)
I can't believe the difference between the two. Just stunning how, and I am sure a computer program does it, how it can take half a image and fill it in.
Glad I did it for her, she is such a sweet lady. I had 4 copies made, once for each of them (her, daughter and son) and an extra. That way there will always be a photo floating around.
Glad I and the lady who did the repair could give her back a little of her history, of her wedding, of her love for the man who father her kids.

Aww! Just when I think there are no good hearted folks left here in this world anymore, I go and read this and remember, there really are. Good for you! :-)
So beautiful! I loved reading this- as it is the small things that truly make our memories, and bring us together

Nice, this goes on all too often sadly. In fact, I had to change tie router info due to our WiFi was being toggled with and 'throttled'(pushed past excessive limits to say the least). Our net was going out like fireworks on the 4th. Thankfully I know a few tricks of how to look for theft in a home network.
One thing to do, is if you remember how to get into your router still. Name all your phones/computers/wireless devices something and watch the list of participants. If a strange one logs in. Take note, write it down... and block it. Just make sure that you have made sure it's not one of your devices or anyone you authorized. Some routers are not very forgiving after they block something.
If you need help getting a walkthrough on how to do this with your router, there are numbers on the bottom of it. Google/bing that and add in how to block and monitor traffic. Never pick the first couple links. (the ads) As some can in fact screw you up bad.
