Showing the way...

19:30 Feb 29 2008
Times Read: 1,971

Every night I say a prayer in the hopes that there's a heaven

And every day I'm more confused as the saints turn into sinners

All the heroes and legends I knew as a child have fallen to idols of clay

And I feel this empty place inside so afraid that I've lost my faith

Show me the way, show me the way

Take me tonight to the river

And wash my illusions away

Show me the way

And as I slowly drift to sleep, for a moment dreams are sacred

I close my eyes and know there's peace in a world so filled with hatred

That I wake up each morning and turn on the news to find we've so far to go

And I keep on hoping for a sign, so afraid, I just won't know

Show me the way, Show me the way

Bring me tonight to the mountain

And take my confusion away

And show me the way

And if I see a light, should I believe

Tell me how will I know

Show me the way, show me the way

Take me tonight to the river

And wash my illusions away

Show me the way, show me the way

Give me the strength and the courage

To believe that I'll get there someday

An please show me the way

Every night I say a prayer

In the hopes that there's a heaven...

Styx- Show Me The Way. youtube link to song

How will I know if there is a heaven? People taking action like Joli charity work is a great start in seeing the way.

My day today.

20:44 Feb 28 2008
Times Read: 1,570

Came to work this morning to see a pile of mail that came yesterday, list of phone calls to return I missed yesterday with the snow day. But all is good, I am rested and ready to go. Then Dad asked me “You going to wear that to the funeral?” Well ….poop. I forgot about the funeral for a distant cousin that was today. No- I did not go to the visitation last night, in the cold and snow. But I was told I was going to the funeral today. Jeans, turtleneck, and the old ripped comfortable sweaters I wore was not going to cut it.

Today has been a day of my mother voice in my head. As I ask father why he could not go to the funeral, as it was his side of the family, I hear her voice of “Do as your father tells you.” So at noon I go home and stood in my closet to pick out the outfit.

My mothers voice followed me about “Black, pants is fine as it is this cold. No heels- not a party after all. Take off the makeup and do a more natural look.” I do- black pants that are thin ( to much weight gain to wear the wool black pants- I tried.) Nice unstained and rip dress sweeter, black flats with a small black bag to match. Pull out the pearls of my grandmother.

Taking the makeup off and doing the natural look of a tan shade over the eye, no liner, little blush, and the tan lipstick. I think it looks like a ghost, but I hear mom’s voice of “Time to dress up and a time to dress down.” This is a dress down time. My long black wool coat, and black leather gloves and I am ready.

This was a cousin I never meet, at least I don’t remember him. Dad swears I meet him, talked to him when I was around 12 or so… gosh- then that makes him a close personal friend. (Sorry- snippy day for me) I walk into the funeral home twenty minutes before the service was to start, and I swear I felt the mask slip into place. Of the 60 family members here, I know 4.

Mom’s voice again. “Take your gloves off- rude to shake hands with them on. Don’t stand with your hands clasp in front of you, let them drop to your side. Give a little smile, you are scaring the people away. Say what you have been taught- “Hello. I am XX and XX daughter, and I came to express our families prayers for you during your time of loss.” As it was family, even one I did not know, they missed out on the “Hello. I am XX from XXX, and I just wanted to express my sorrow ….” when it’s a business/customer/rental person. I hate doing those.

To show you it is not me just going over board, I got:

Six- “Why… I did not know who you was it been so long.”

Two- “You are who now?”

Four- “Which one are you? One of the twins?”

Ten or more of “ You sure look like your mother. No wonder I did not know you were family.”

I start to take a seat, thinking it was like school again- back roll, back corner but stop myself as I am taught to sit in the middle. I sit, not crossing my arms over my chest or stomach, but to the sides to present a more open personality. See- my mother taught me well. While this had always been my older sister duty, it fallen to me as she left the family twenty years ago. She always loved it, the attention, the knowing of everyone in town.

I am dreading the service as I am sure it would be a “You are going to hell if you don’t…” Like the last three or four I have been to. So I sit, a small smile on my face, nodding to those who think they know who I am, but not really sure who I am. But that is alright as I have no idea who they are. I just stay quiet and hope no one sits beside me and expect me to chit chat. Then I would have to push my mask on ever tighter, to cover me saying “Leave me alone… do I even know you?”

I have to say- these people, and I know they are family by blood, but…. Not one but two cell phones went off during the service. The second one the guy answered, and sat there talking for a good three minutes as the preacher talked.

And when the preacher steps up to the little platform, that does not signal a race up to the coffin to see him for the last time. It means to shut up and sit down.

And the woman who walked into the service late, walking up to the coffin, then took the time to LOOK at who sent the flower during the service? Lord I was ready to stand up, go to her and grab her by her coat and march her to a pew and throw her ass in a seat and tell her to keep still. I mean… hell’s bells people. Show some respect for the dead. *smiles* I am my mother after all….maybe it was my voice I am hearing in my head, not hers? *light bulb flashes on above the rat's head*

I sat, biting my tongue not to giggle, and turned my ears to the preacher. And I have to it was a lovely service. Now my cousin was not a church going man, but as always people seem to think when you die, you have one. This man is dress in a lovely black suite, a dark printed tie. He is soft spoken, no yelling at the top of his voice. He kept the same tone thru out the service, not raising and fallen as he made his points.

And what wonderful points he made for them to hear as they grieved. How God was a loving, forgiving those who sin. He told of the upcoming reunion when his family came to heaven as he is waiting. He asked God to share in the family and friends sorrow, to lean them a ear if they seek his love. No words of hell, no words of leading the life god set forth in his bible. The words that touched me the most was “God is not one to judge you, he is the one who ask you if you need help. Come to him, speak to him as he is always there for you.” That is a god I can believe in. :)

He goes on and tells stories of the man, stories he had to of gotten from the family during the long illness and days of his death. I learned he always arrived at his neighbors around supper time to visit. He would tell him mother “I love you” every night before he went to bed. How he would help her ‘diet” by eating the last of the cake, so she would not give into temptation. I listen to those stories, and watched the smiles the family and friends had on their faces as he told of this man’s life. Me- even a stranger to him was seeing the caring person he was.

When the mother stood toward the end and went to the coffin, laying over his body as she cried, I felt my heart break at her grief. The pastor stop till family members was able to get her back to her seat, giving her the time she needed. He ended the service with words of (and I am sure I am not getting it word by word) “He is in a better place, not bound by his illness anymore. He waits for you as he is no longer shacked her on earth. We have the job of living as our award waits each and everyone of us. He will be waiting for that day and would ask you to be strong till then.” Have to say- I was crying by the time he was done and I am like a cold fish around people I don’t know, and know even.

You could just feel the peace in the place, and I have to say it was the best service I have ever sit thru at a funeral. Then we filed out, and I stood waiting for the loading of the coffin. A cousin that I do talk with, that I know as his father (my uncle) takes care of our farms, stood beside me and we chatted. You can not mistaken the family as they look so much alike. Black hair, gray or blue eyes, a quick smile. Just common folks who work and stay home.

We talked of our fathers, how they single in on one thing in life- his on the farms he runs, mine on the business. How the family was “just not” social party people. They work and they go home. See- I come by it honestly. Anyway… this is a song they played before the service and I wanted to put it here for a man I don’t remember, but who’s funeral showed me he was loved.

Now for a few more hours of work, then to bed as I get to work tonight on a courier run to Ohio. Let's just hope the puppies stay off the road tongiht. :(

*hugs* Sorry sis for your cousin, even the ones we don't know it's a loss to the family. You got lucky there are only a couple of preachers in this area that will do that kind of calm funeral without trying to "save the souls" of the survivors. I have never felt that was the right thing at a funeral and still get irked at it.

Project Runway.

23:49 Feb 27 2008
Times Read: 1,613

Project Runway final show is tonight. Bravo has sneak peak on the fashion show. I just don't know how Sweet P got in the last four. Her outfits don't drape right, they hang funky... not pretty at all.

Now Rami is a man who knows how to drape. I agree he is unable to walk out of that box, but do you know the skill it takes to drape cloth? And the black gown in his show... damn- that is stunning. I love this man and he is the person I would trust to make something I would wear. Even his day time items are wonderful.

Chris- I don't like the face prints, but the other ones I do like. Betty Davis updated. I love the tan/black short dress and the long black evening gown with the wrap... old style. I have to say this is the best I have seen him, and the feather are hot! I like his work, and see a style I would wear.

The crowd favorite is Christian. Now I just like the guy. Nothing her made on the show was bad, and you knew he would be one of the final four (but five this time) He should be there, he worked his ass off to be there. His clothing for fashion show is....good. I love all the black, and the big hats. My Fair Lady comes to mind on some of his work, but the gown... not so much. A little overboard, and just a little... ugly. The leggings was overdone to me, show us more... would loved to see pants from him.

Jillian is the last one. I had problems with most of her outfit on the show, but have to admit the ones she did for the fashion show are great. Not much on the sharp hats she picked, but her outfits are full of fun shapes. And the gray and red coat that is long in the back, short at the front, I love. The boots I love. The gown was king of plain to the rest of it.

So who would I vote for? I would wear Rami.... but I would vote for Christian and would be shocked if he did not win.

Now to wait and see....

Rat's morning.

16:31 Feb 27 2008
Times Read: 1,628

The radio goes off this morning, waking the Rat from her deep sleep. Rolling over to her back, she opens her eyes slowly as she listens to a old Huey Lewis and the News song. Thinking of the other song by this man, "I want a couple days off" she rolls out of bed to start her day. About five mintures later she steps out of the shower, thinking it has been a long time since she had a dream... not having the energy for a dream...even a day dream... she is surprised by the phone ringing.

Dropping the towel, she runs to catch it, and its is her sister on the line. "What are you doing?" "Well... I just got out of the shower so I am standing her freezing." Rat never sleeps with heat on. "You do know we have snow outside, right?" O.O "Go back to bed, I have already called off the moves, and I have called the guys. I will take the calls at mom's, so stay home."

Rat smiles at the magical word... "Snow" Saying goodbye, she runs to the window and looks out to see the white stuff. Not much, but enough. Rat smiles, the turns the clock radio off, and jumps back into her bed, snuggles under the soft warm sheets and closes her eyes for a nap... a long lovely 4 hour nap. No dream... but a lovely long rest that has been needed.

:) Thank you Snow Gods. Now for some lunch, and SuperNatural DVD as I lay on the couch.

Did she call you a Bastard? Huh??

19:14 Feb 26 2008
Times Read: 1,694

He called you a bitch? Are you fucking kidding me??? Just catching up on your journal… and know I am kicking a dead horse…but I have to say something.

You made a comment on his profile, no bad words or comments out of line, you stated your opinion. You have that right- just like anyone else on this site does. He should of just blocked you, but instead he called you a bitch.

*shakes head* Oh that was a really stupid move. He knew you was not one to take that laying down. Otter will come out fighting as she always does, and always will for this site and its rules. As any woman who is called a bitch should.

Why do people find it so hard to follow the playground rules? I freely admit I have not read all of them, but even I know enough to stay out of trouble. But he, ex sire and all, knows how the VR playground works. Not like he has not been around the swing set a few times… you know?

I joined the House Eternal and Morrigon and I never really spoke. I will tell anyone, as I have her, she use to frighten me…still does to a degree. LOL She just laughed when I told her, and I fell in luvs with her that second. I know woman like this in real life- they are the ones that just makes you go “I like that woman. I want to be that woman when I grow up.”

Now I call her a friend, but I know if I made a ass of myself- she is not above calling me out on it. Thing is…if she did, I would step back and think about what she said. I know her enough to take into account what she was saying, not as an attack, but as help to see it from a different point of view. Might still disagree with her- but I would do it with respect. I don’t have to agree with her to call her a friend. Trust me- some people on this site that I call friends do things I don’t like- but all in all, I know they are good people. Different views make for a interesting friendship. Sheep are not worth knowing.

But what you said about her is so very wrong. She might seem all teeth and claws on the outside, but inside is a caring, loving person who will defend what she loves. If you are on the side of the teeth and claws then you fucking asked for it. (As you did calling her a bitch) But if you are in the cuddly side of her, the playful side, the humor of her crazy mind… then you know the other side I had the pleasure to know.

Morrigon- you keep kicking asses and taking names. And I will keep reading, and respecting you for it. Because if anyone is going to call you a bitch- or any woman a bitch- over a simple comment on a profile online then they deserve to have your sharp tongue turned on them.

OTTER RULES!!

And screw anyone who thinks otherwise.

Boils down to it- you should never called her a bitch. You could of asked her to stay out of it without that ugly name added to it.

Not only my darker side, but the rest of me....

13:55 Feb 26 2008
Times Read: 1,720

I was ready to delete the last two journal entries, but then it hit me- this is my journal, and while I try to keep my personal life private, I am going to let it stand. I made a post of this type a few weeks ago and deleted it afterwards, but this one....

While I don't mind being weak, I hate showing that side of me to anyone. I hate being seen as weak.

But as my life is changing in all ways- I will have days that I cry, that I need to write down my feelings, talk my way thru them.

This is my journal, this is my life. VR is a place to explore the darker side of myself... it needs to be the place I can explore all parts of me. Even those weaker ones. And the fear I had to comments by strangers is not coming about- I feel safe leaving it here, public. Seems only my friends read my journal... *gives all those who think otherwise a "I told you so look" LOL*

Besides- can't see just how strong a person I am unless I see how I step up from my weaker moments to carry on with life. I need to see both sides of myself... that way I can get use to the weaker part as more of it will come out as I deal with life.

:) Guess you guys just get all of it, sorry. But your comments do help. More caring friends a person can not ask for. *hugs*

One of the things about posting in journals, is that you have the ability to go back and see where you were a year ago, what your mindset was and look at it objectively. Also, to see how much you have learned and how far you have come.

You often learn from yourself and others learn from you. *hugs* So, thank you for sharing hon.

I have cried most of the day and I have no idea why. Depression? Weather? My mom illness? I think its all three. Stuff at work is on my mind, but it always is. But I have not had this hopeless feeling in years. Its like so much is pressing against me and I am ready to just bust.

I wish my mom was better. I wish she was not 80 years old and in pain. Sitting at a desk, on a concrete floor for 60 years will play hell on any body. She hurt when she moves, suger, high blood pressure, body that is scared by cancer. She can't hold much in her hands, no strenght.

But her spirit is there. It's in her eyes, in her laughter. Even in her fussing over this and that little thing. She has moments of crying and I think it is her facing she can not do what she wants to anymore. I know of home health care- but Mom is not a person to want strangers around her. Talking about it and you can see the fear in her eyes. Not being brought up again, at least not any time soon. The idea has been put out there.... lets see if she can open herself to it.

She is unable to walk to the bathroom, she is unable to fix her own meals. She needs help dressing and bathing. That must be a hell of a wake up call from running a business by herself, raising 5 kids. When she fell that day a few months ago- she has changed. She seems to be...frighten.

Losing her brother 5 months ago, and her dog of 13 years in the same week hit her hard... I think that is when she changed a little. I think that is when she faced her own death. And when she got afraid.

My sister stays with her during the week, and that will cause problems soon as its my sister who works in the office. If I replace her I will have to deal with the pay of both, as I can not just cut my sister off her income. I might have to take a pay cut, and that is cool.

While I have cried all day, I also have a little anger... as anyone would in this case. I go to Mom's on Sat and stay till Sunday night. I have the work of two at the office, then weekend of sitting with my mom and being with my parents. At 41, that is not what I say my life as...but it is what it is. Just as in twenty years I will be in my mothers shoes...but with no children to take care of me. I need to do something about that- try to get my ass back in shape. Hard to do when you have no time, or energy to do what it takes.

My other sister lives 100 miles away and she is trying to come home on most Sat night, staying until Monday night as she has to be back at her work on Tuesday morning. She is giving up her days off to help. Its hard on her to do that as she has her own life, family, friends.

In a month business is going to kick into high gear and I don't know how we will handle it. If I do not bust before then... I will at that time.

Ok- bed for me as I have to be up at 4:15 am, to be at work at 5:00am. My eyes burn, can't breath and head is ready to pop so much pressure. But I feel at least one more good cry in me, then sleep I hope, if I can calm my mind.

Dearest Rat, you have reached the age that everyone fears. The age of looking at your parents and seeing them fade away...and then ponder your own future.

*hugs the Rat tight* I will tell you something, that hopefully it will get a smile on your face. When I read of you thinking about, who is going to take care of you.... I had a vision.

Cat, all grey and wrinkled, in a wheelchair and Birdy, just as grey, standing beside you with her walker. Cat sitting there hitting you with a cane (that she doesn't use, except to hit you or Birdy), telling you to get out of your damn funk because you guys are going out and hunt up some men.

You laugh because its an ongoing joke, as you all get to the door, see the rain outside and look at each other, then shake your heads.

"Nah some other time." As you all turn back into the house.

Truthfully, you will never be alone dearest....Never.

Giving my two cents.

After reading Sapphire rant about most of the membership of VR, I had to smile. Cancer is the one who you have to give a nod to. I mean… think about it. He made a site that is geared toward levels- of numbers to define who you are. I will let Sapphire rant stand as is as I agree with her, but I want to address some points she made.

The money point of view. You know why I think VR will never be an adult site? Because there would not be enough membership. I would love to see the percentage of members over the age of 18. How big would the membership be if you lost all the children? But I like that its open to all ages, and that the free member can go as far on this site as one who pays for it. What it takes to bring in the members.

When you have a gothic/vampire site-you are going to have these people who want to start drama, and are crazy as a loon. You cater to the emotional challenged younger crowd on the internet by just natural of the site. You expect the membership to have Master’s in …?? Don’t take me wrong- there is some great people on this site, but they are far and few. They are not the norm here. Don't start the- she is calling the goth crazy. I know several gothic people that I would call wonderful people. But you read some of the profiles on here that brag they are gothic. It just gives those who live the life a bad name. Tell me that I am wrong....

Do people even read? The experiment in the forum showed they don’t. The stamps in profile and portfolio show they don’t. I don’t. Very rarely do I read a profile. Why? Because I truly don’t want to know the membership here. If you shine out, and I see a person I think I would like as a friend, I make my way to saying hello and talking to you. I know the types of people this site brings in, and I don’t worry about them.

How do you gain god giving “power” on this site? You rate, post and spend time. That builds up pages viewed, which makes selling ads much easier. Free member or not- we all count toward this goal. Face it folks- this site is not more geared toward learning about Vampire then Food Network is. Maybe when it started out, but have you looked at the forums of late? Stamps cover the database, not comments of the item. I hear from the older members of great debates on subjects and I wish I had been on this site then.

Any site that is gear with numbers- your rating is this, your # ? on this site, you gave me a one and not the ten I deserve, your friends came and gave me ones because we had a fight, you blocked me, my coven is number one, your comments made my journal …. Oh no… no drama making there. Does the site meet a need? Yes. Everyone would have to say how…but if you are here, it’s for a reason, right?

I think the site has lost its bearings, more concern with ratings and being accepted into groups. Is that Cancer’s fault? No. The rating system does add to the problem, leveling up is just adding fuel to the fire. Administrator? No they give there time to help this site. Could you see it without them doing the job they do? Do Coven and House Masters start drama? Yes, but its all about the levels and ratings. But the membership does to, and you know who you are. It is human nature folks taking the way VR is set up. Those numbers mean the world to them. How do you stop it? You can’t. More drama, more pages viewed as members check the journals and talk of it. And that just brings in more money, helping the site grow.

Me? I stay to write in the Hedgewitch, but I can find another place to write. I stay to keep my journal, but I can make a blog anywhere. Friends? Those who I care for know it as they are the ones I talk to. So why do I stay? I stay to use rating to calm and dull my mind. I stay for those rare moments of fun and joy on the site. I stay to watch the drama and to add to it if I am in the mood to. Thing is- I know this is not the Food Network. I know what is here, and I still come back and support this site. Really … If the drama is what you hate only way to end the drama is to leave… not add to it. If you stay- then know its not going to change. Don’t sleep with the dogs and not expect to get fleas.

Now that is only my point of view on this – my opinion. And like ass holes, every one has one. So this is me, showing my ass. lol

“A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.” Quote by Bill Watterson

No press is good press.

“No press is bad press”

I wonder…does that work on VR? I mean… on the membership. Some here are known as assholes. Some deserve the name, others not. But then they are known on the site. Is that the goal?

“No press is bad press.”

Do you act on this site like you do in person? Do you fly off the handle, think people are talking about you? Do you stir shit? Is your opinion the only one that matters? Do you not see the other side of the coin?

“No press is bad press.”

Or are you one who is nice all around? Do you show concern, compassion, and love to those you see as needing it, only to talk about them in private? Is that veneer you have just a little too bright? Are you really that freaking nice? Do you do what is needed to get what you want in life, be as nice as you have to? Do you put on a mask and hope no one sees the real you?

“No press is bad press.”

You see them- the attention whores who just have to be known. They do everything they can to catch your eyes- from forum fights, vamp box comments, to journals that just tempt you to see what is being said. They will not leave a comment along, but take it to heart and just beat it till it is dead. They do not know when to walk away before they are seen as the one who is the being made fun of.

“No press is bad press.”

The ones who advertise being here to help you, share your pain. They want to be known as the good people, the light in the darkness. Those are the ones who frighten me. If you tell me you are that way in real life- then I would never be around you. I like my friends a little more real and honest. I see thru your mask, as I wear one myself. Can’t con a conman.

“No press is bad press.”

If they/yours/my behavior is that way here on this site….what are we like in person? Are we that demanding in person? Are we so dependent on others to give us worth? Do we have to get along with everyone, or keep people at a distance? Do we use our language as a way to make people back off us?

“No press is bad press.”

Maybe we should aim for “No press is good press.” That way we can just be who we are, and not worry about anyone else. But they are what they are, these needs we have. Yours are real, as is mine. I just need to look into seeing if my ‘press’ is me. Maybe others need to do that as well.

“No press is bad press.”

*Sadly I know I will have to put this here, so no one will think I am talking about them alone. This is not aimed toward anyone. Just the way I am feeling of late with what I have seen on the site, and even in my real life. Yes- My journal has ME in it. I guess this was more aimed toward me then anyone else. I see a lot of my own issues in the words above and this is the place I use to explore them. You have chosen to read it. Remember that, will ya? :) *

I agree with you. I myself, really don't care much for what people think of me. I am a "take me as I am" kinda guy...I try to make people laugh because it makes me laugh...and I feel that laughter cures all pain :)

VR has become drama city as of late...and I so hate drama...and I am growing to think VR is in the same category as Jerry Springer...nothing more than mind numbing drivel. The "shit stirring" really needs to come to an end.

VR is beginning to mean less and less of vampire rave and more of virtual retardation.

Thank you for posting this in your journal. It's like a breath of fresh air. I may frequent your journal more often if you don't mind ;)

I think that if a person is rude on-line, they are rude in real life too, or maybe just shy people who really wish to be rude but don't have guts to be so.

The unique thing that makes me different on here then in real life is, that here I hide nothing, or almost nothing.

*rat snorts* Ohh this is just too cute. Sulky0Uya is the member going around giving all the people who rated her whelp profile low with the same rates she got. I have a 6 with the comment of: give you the same rate you gave me enjoy.

Now- let's think on this. I have three other profiles here, for different reasons. One is a level 20, one is a level 16, and the last is a level 14 or 15... thinking 15.

I do not- nor will I rate with these profiles. Trust me- together I might of rated 100 times with all three of these that was not the database/articles.

So today I find SulkyOUya had stop by them and rated them tens. She asked me to rate her back.

*rat gives you a look of Yeah...right... I will get right on that.* It's not even worth getting mean about. Just leave her alone Kay... leave it alone.

Seeing the last ten...

14:05 Feb 22 2008
Times Read: 1,868

Rat watches as the lovely Sentoran goes thur her home, looking for any thing that breaks VR rules. She knows her profile is fine, even did her best with the spelling and grammar. No cuss words, no bad hateful threats. Might have a few mistakes, but it was more then the "Fuck you if you don't like me..." that most have.

The Sentoran moves along to her Portfolio. Rat smiles as there is only nature pictures there, all her work. Very few pictures of humans and all of them are fully covered in clothing. No ass showing on this portfolio- skinny or otherwise. Nothing can be taken as a rule breaker there. Heck- not even a picture of herself in there.

As the Sentoran looks toward the rat, the rat remembers what else the job of Sentoran was. Oh crap. The rat sees her journal, and using her foot, she slowly moves it under the rug as she smiles at the lady before her. "Have I told you how much I love the background on you profile? Really... it is wonderful." The Sentoran looks at the rat, then grins. It was true enough, and this is a woman she had always heard great things of. But rules are rules.. and Rat is guilty of breaking a few.

But the Sentoran turns away, and the Rat gives her journal one last push under the rug, and follows the Sentoran to the door of her VR home. Rat smiles as the Sentoran looks at her, looking around the rat's home one last time... then pats the rat on the head, leaving without comment.

Rat shut her door, leaning back on it with a sigh. These spot checks are hell on a rat. But she lives another day to write as she wishes to, able to explore the part of herself she had kept closed off for so long. VR stays her home away from home.

:)

Listen to a tale of a Cat we know....

She calls me about a hour ago and I answer the phone with a grumpy "Company Name here" and ask me how I am doing. "I am answering phones like crazy- just got a call and the military I was to pick up on Tuesday and Wensday I don't have to do now - but I turned down three freaking jobs next weekl when I could of had them. Thanks for calling me this late to let me know... dickass. Now I will not get one call about a job next week... you know?" She listens to me rant, then tells me school is being let out due to the ice storm that is on the way.

Great- I have a crew still out and its in a location you don't want to be at in a ice storm (top of a hill) We talk a little and she ask if I need anything at the store- milk, eggs?? Ahhhh... the cat always thinking of others. :) Nope- I am set.

But that I would die for some chocolate as I am having a freaking stress day. But not to worry- go get the baby and get home. We are to call each other later tonight.

Fast forward a hour- she and the little one stops by to give me a bag of Hershey's Nuggets, as it is spitting rain outside, and the temp is dropping like a stone. I got chocolate and a visit from them both. Yeah ME! That made my day... really it did. :)

Can we say I love that Cat. *eats another piece of goodness* Bring on the phone calls.... I might even be nice to someone now. LOL

Added the Zoo slide show to my profile with this:

"These are the ladies that I call friends/family on this site, and in real life. I will not dishonor them with the normal online "If you harm them, I will ....." threat as they are more then capable to handle themselves. If you do not believe me, then you have not been on this site long enough to run into them. Hell… a few of them frighten the Rat. It is with great respect and love that I place this here. Sisterhood is a wonderful thing and should always be cherished. Ladies…you are the cheese for this rat. "

I don't put friends list on my profile. Don't really know why- guess I like to keep it private. So I can say this will not be on there long. And I change my profile often but it matchs the background I have on it now, so.... God- can I be anymore vain? I get so matchy matchy Martha Stewart I even make myself sick. lol

Rat lays on her belly, watching the youngest member of the zoo playing in the water. The cute little penguin splashing around as she plays with the fish, seeing the splash color at her neck. The little one too have such passion is Chemical Reaction.

A jaguar roar from behind makes the rat’s fur stand on end. NobodyFallenAngel is one member of the zoo that is unknown to the rat, but she hopes to change that soon.

The newest member comes up the little pool, and the rat gives a sigh of pleasure of the beauty that is the Swan. Miss Emaerald added a touch of class to the zoo. Gracefully floating past she spots a car with the driver on a cell phone to his ear. “Fucktard” comes from her mouth. Rat’s eyes open wide, and she lets out a belly laugh. Such language from a lady…but then, we all have that ability.

I was slacking in giving the new members there welcome to the zoo. Sorry about that guys. Its just a gift that all these woman wished to join the zoo, the group of woman who are on this site to learn, express themselves, and to help when help is needed.

While we might not agree on things- we are adult enough to have our say and move past it. We understand we make mistakes, and have different opinion on events. But we also know the other members of the zoo will help us if we are in need. Here on VR, we are a team that helps each other. In life, we are the people we talk to and seek advice from.

At least it is for me. :)

The Cat and Birdy was over tonight for a full moon rite. Been a long time since we all three have been together, talking. Have to say I miss seeing them, and there is energy between us that was not there before. What it is I don’t know. But we have been friends for years, and we will get thru this because we luvs each other. *rat grins*

Some of the comments made tonight-

How many inches?

That would not be a hand job- more a three finger job.

When in doubt- pinky out.

It’s like licking a lollipop.

How many licks to get to the center of the tootsie roll?

EWWWW!!!

We talked of stoned rats chewing on wires.

We talked of fried stoned rats and the smell they make.

We talked of stoned birds falling off wires.

We talked of stoned birds having the munchies.

And we talked of outy belly buttons. *grins*

And licking them… Mmmmm sexy.

If you want to make the birdy go EWWWWW just bring that up. Lol Trust me- I will use that again at the right moment. *evil grin* All in all a great time, and wish we could spend more time together. And the eclipse of the moon was wonderful to see.

As the darkness covers the light

And the light comes out of the darkness

As will our lives and friendship

So mote it be.

Blessed Be my lovely sisters.

Ohhh and we learned I was the virgin in the group. O.o

Kentucky Derby Legend Euthanized

(AP) - Winning Colors, the 1988 Kentucky Derby winner who was the last filly to win the race, has died, Gainesway thoroughbred farm said Monday. She was 23.

The roan mare was euthanized Sunday after a bout with colic and buried at Greentree Farm, which is now part of Gainesway, Gainesway Vice President Charlie Aker said.

As a 3-year-old, Winning Colors thrilled Derby watchers when she led wire to wire under Gary Stevens, defeating Forty Niner. She also won the Grade I Santa Anita Derby and Santa Anita Oaks that year and finished with eight wins, three seconds and a third. Her earnings totaled $1,526,837, the farm said.

She was the third filly to win the Derby. She left an 2-year-old by Orientate in training and a yearling filly by Mr. Greeley at the farm, Gainesway general manager Neil Howard said.

"The Derby winner always captivates the imagination of the race fan," he said. "But being a filly and beating the colts made it even sweeter."

Sad day in Ky.

“Wanted- woman with a fishing boat. Send picture of the boat”

I made a comment of how cute it was and he asked me why I never married again. I said because I can’t find the right man. He asked me what kind I was looking for and I smiled, saying it would be like this…

“Wanted- Man with a cabin in the woods with a fireplace and a small stream running along the back. Is able and willing to cook, clean, and make me laugh. Has a wild side and a tender side in bed, and able to keep up with my needs. And comes with a mute button. Send picture of the cabin.”

I went to sit with my mother as my sister went to the office to do the quarterly payroll taxes today. I enjoyed the time, talking to Mom as she sat in her recliner, snuggles under a blanket. She looked so fragile. She is flipping the TV and stop on the Discovery Channel show called ‘A Haunting.’ We were in heaven. :)

My sister arrived a few minutes later and I stayed till the show was over as it was one I had not seen. “That is a Poltergeist with it opening cabinet doors and moving things, making the sounds.” “And how it is attached to the child.” My sister just stared at us. “How do you two know that? Even know what a poltergeist is?” Mom and I just smiled at each other. “The shows we watch.” lol

Then the conversation went to use of religion to drive away the spirit. Sister asked if it was always a Catholic priest that did it, as it is on the movies and TV. I looked at mom and said “She so silly. “ Mom tells her no- not every one is Catholic. That most religions have a cleaning ritual or blessings they use to clean out spirits or ghost. Wow- Mom is so good.

Then the discussion started between me and mom- if I was not afraid of god when I was alive- how would it drive me away after I am dead? How do you get the spirit of someone who has no religion? Would you bring in a satanism? Sis stayed out of that one.

The show ended with the family moving out of the rental home, and that started the jokes of “What would we do if they came up and told us they are moving and why?” “Sorry- but the ghost will need to fill out this application.” “He will need to sign here for a credit check.” “Just tell him no remodeling of the home.” “Leave the plumbing alone…no goo.” “Sorry- You have a six months lease so you are paying for six months- don't care who lives there.” “He was not there before you moved in- so take him when you leave.” "Hope you don't want you deposit back... who knows what we have to do to get that out of the home." LOL I mean... what would you say if you was the landlord? And yes- we have one home that a older man died in, and another that had two deaths in it before we brought it.

An afternoon in our family.... :)

What to say about Moonie? She is a goddess, she is a saint. She is a whore and a tease. She is sexy and brazen. She is the woman who can make me laugh, giggle like a five year old, or get me so very hot. ;)

She is the person who can be your best friend if you are lucky, she is the person who tells you like it is. She can tell you to go to hell with a smile on her face, making you look forward to the trip. She is the one you see all proper and prim, and know there is a wild woman hidden inside.

Moonie IS the whole package of what a sexy bunnie should be. And I am damn lucky she lets me call her a friend. :)

What Valentines Day means to me... My Mom and Dad after 53 years.

17:27 Feb 14 2008
Times Read: 2,249

Dad was in the office this morning to see if anything was going on, so I reminded him what today was. He tells me he gave my mother her gift already. Turns out it was a honey bun from the store. lol Mom always brought her own gifts- birthdays, christmas, and valentines. Dad was not home most of them anyway. But she always showed him what "he" brought her when he came home.

To name a few- diamond ring, a car, a dozen moving pads, a tv, couch, and I know of two dollies she always said was her gifts from him. My mother would buy home, work and personal gifts for herself. Meaning- she knew what she could buy, what she needed, and what she had to have. :) She even got what she wanted sometimes. (ring)

But Dad did give gifts. The best gift I have gotten from my father is his strong shoulder to lean on. I do it everyday, and he takes my weight with no problem. When I go off tail spinning he reels me in, telling me to calm down.

I remember a set of red plastic measuring spoons. He came in off the road, and I am sure they came from a truck stop, but that toy still sticks in my mind. Just a set of plastic little spoons meant, and still do, the world to me.

I remember him coming to my high school grad. He had been up for two days, but no one else in the family wanted to come sit in the hot gym for hours to see me walk up there and get that piece of paper. I didn't blame them and told them it was alright. Kind of sad tho. But Dad did. He came in, learned no one else had went, so he showered and I spotted him in the crowd as I sat, waiting for them to get to the W's. :) He did not stay around after it, but it meant the world to me that he did come.

Dad always has a sweet heart- sure he can be grumpy and hateful, but he still has the softer side. And Mom will tell you he still brings her little gifts even today. Like the honeybun. He brings her crossword puzzles books as he knows she loves to do them. He shows her he is thinking of her...and to me that is worth more then any item you can buy. Just last week I watched as he played with her toes as she sat in her recliner chair. :) She just smiled and told him she would kick him if he did not stop.

Reading Images journal got me to thinking of this as this is a song my Dad would sing to when it came on the radio, if we was together, not a workhand with us. And I remember him signing it to her when she would put the 8 track in the stereo player at home. Jonnhy Cash- I walk the line. This is my father, and what I would call a man who loves his wife of 53 years.

It all started with a picture. Loving the color and the rose on white, I fell in love when I saw the little rat. I knew it would be my new background. I either hear a song and build a profile, or a picture... this time it was a little of both.

Then I needed a picture of myself to match the background. I loved the look of the eyes in the shot, so I had to copy it. Thinking I did a ok job on that. Wish I could of made my eye silver tho. But I will learn as I have found laying out profiles is great fun for me. :)

I tried adding more pictures, but it just clash with the background. So Abstract, who I trust, was online and I asked her about it and we both agree it looked better without any pictures- let the background speak for itself. Thank you for your help Ferret, as always. :)

On to the font, the music that I have had playing these last few months as I plan this profile. Yes- months. This one I worked my ass off for. But I have to say.... it's damn nice looking. :) And will be up for a while.

I think. Or until I am bored again. lol

Found these online and they made me go "Ahhhh..how sweet." Going to share. :)

Perfectly Paired Puns

As Valentine's Day approached, I tried to think of an unusual gift for my husband. When I discovered that his favorite red-plaid pants had a broken zipper, I thought I had the "perfect Valentine." I had the pants repaired, and gift-wrapped them. On the package I put a huge red heart on which I printed: "My Heart Pants for You." I was the surprised one, however, when I saw the same heart taped to our formerly empty, but now overflowing, wood box. On it he had written: "Wood You Be My Valentine?"

A Little Nuts About Love

Driving through Southern California, I stopped at a roadside stand that sold fruit, vegetables and crafts. As I went to pay, I noticed the young woman behind the counter was painting a sign. "Why the new sign?" I asked. "My boyfriend didn't approve of the old one," she said. When I glanced at what hung above the counter, I understood. It declared: "Local Honey Dates Nuts"

-- Contributed by Theodore Bologna

Check Out a Romance

I met my husband while I was working in a science library. He came in every week to read the latest journals and eventually decided to take out the librarian instead of the books. After a year and a half of dating, he showed up at the library and started rummaging through my desk. I asked what he was looking for, but he didn't answer. Finally he unearthed one of the rubber stamps I used to identify reference books. "Since I couldn't find the right engagement ring," he said, "this will have to do," and he firmly stamped my hand. Across my knuckles, in capital letters, it read "NOT FOR CIRCULATION."

Sweet Nothings (.com)

My boyfriend and I met online and we'd been dating for over a year. I introduced Hans to my uncle, who was fascinated by the fact that we met over the Internet. He asked Hans what kind of line he had used to pick me up. Ever the geek, Hans naively replied, "I just used a regular 56K modem."

-- Contributed by Anne McConnell

Pastoral Passion

The lingerie store where my aunt works was crowded with shoppers selecting Valentine's Day gifts for their wives. A young businessman came to the register with a lacy black negligee. My aunt noticed that the next customer, an elderly farmer, was holding a long flannel nightgown and kept glancing at the younger man's sexier choice. When it was his turn, the farmer placed the nightgown on the counter. "Would you have anything in black flannel?" He asked.

-- Contributed by Christine A. Pandolfo

9 to 5 Love

My husband, a certified public accountant, works 15-hour days for the first few months of the year. In spite of his hectic schedule, he took time out to order me flowers for Valentine's Day. While pondering what sweet endearment to write on the card, he obviously began thinking of the many hours of work still ahead of him. His note read: "Roses are red, violets are blue. If I weren't thinking of you, I'd probably be through."

-- Contributed by Cindy Wolf

Mower Than a Greeting Card

My friend Mark and I work in a lawn-mower-parts warehouse. Somehow Mark got the idea that his wife did not want a card on Valentine's Day, but when he spoke to her on the phone he discovered she was expecting one. Not having time to buy a card on his way home, Mark was in a quandary. Then he looked at the lawn-mower trade magazines scattered around the office -- and got an idea. Using scissors and glue, he created a card with pictures of mowers, next to which he wrote: "I lawn for you mower and mower each day." Mark's wife loved it. The card immediately graced their refrigerator door.

-- Contributed by Gene Hyde

Irresistable Irony

About a year had passed since my amicable divorce, and I decided it was time to start dating again. Unsure how to begin, I thought I'd scan the personals column of my local newspaper. I came across three men who seemed like they'd be promising candidates. A couple of days later, I was checking my answering machine and discovered a message from my ex-husband. "I was over visiting the kids yesterday," he said. "While I was there I happened to notice you had circled some ads in the paper. Don't bother calling the guy in the second column. I can tell you right now it won't work out. That guy is me."

-- Contributed by Pat Patel

Making the Grade

My high-school English teacher was well known for being a fair, but hard, grader. One day I received a B minus on a theme paper. In hopes of bettering my grade and in the spirit of the valentine season, I sent her an extravagant heart-shaped box of chocolates with the pre-printed inscription: "BE MINE." The following day, I received in return a valentine from the teacher. It read: "Thank you, but it's still BE MINE-US."

-- Contributed by Brad Wilcox

Read All About It

Every Valentine's Day our campus newspaper has a section for student messages. Last year my roommate surprised his girlfriend with roses and dinner at a fancy restaurant. When they returned from their date, she leafed through the paper to see if he had written a note to her. Near the bottom of one page she found: "Bonnie -- What are you looking here for? Aren't dinner and flowers enough? Love, Scott."

-- Contributed by Richard B. Blackwell

Devoted and Determined

During World War II my parents had planned a romantic Valentine's Day wedding. Suddenly my father, then stationed at Camp Edwards in Massachusetts, received orders to prepare to ship out, and all leaves were canceled. Being a young man in love, he went AWOL. He and my mother were married four days earlier than originally planned and he returned to base to an angry sergeant. After hearing the explanation, the sergeant understandingly replied, "Okay, okay!" Then, as an afterthought: "But don't let it happen again!"

Valentines Day Jokes

Things Not to Say on Your Valentine's Date

1. I really don't like this restaurant that much, but I wanted to use this 2-for-1 coupon before it expired.

2. People say I remind them of Eddie Haskell.

3. I used to come here all the time with my ex.

4. I never said you NEED a nose job. I just said it wouldn't hurt to consider it.

5. Could you excuse me? My cat gets lonely if he doesn't hear my voice on the answering machine every hour.

6. I like clay. It's mushy.

7. I really feel that I've grown in the past few years. Used to be I wouldn't have given someone like you a second look.

8. And I won that trophy in the inter-fraternity belching contest.

9. I know you said you don't eat anything with a face. But a good butcher will cut that part off for you if you ask.

Few weeks ago we had to shuttle in a shipment due to the road/driveway to the house was too small for the truck. My father wanted to take his pickup that morning, instead of my old four wheel drive. Ruts and pothole, scraping the bottom of the truck a few times and he regretted that decision.

Its cold, in the teens, and the wind is blowing. Small pickup, about a ½ mile trip too and from the big truck to the home.

First thing the guys found something to be silly about. One unpadded a rocking chair and asked me if he could put it on top of the pickup. “Like the Beverly Hillbillies” Then one looked at me and said “Guess that mean you are riding on top, Granny Clampett.”

And you know the theme song they sung all freaking day as I drove them back and forth.

Ice cold wind, freezing our asses off, and they are singing as loud as they can…

“Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed

A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,

Then one day he was shootin at some food,

And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire,

Kinfolk said Jed move away from there

Said Californy is the place you ought to be

So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly

Hills, that is.

Swimmin pools, movie stars.”

Let’s just say it was a looonnnnngggg day. And I looked up the words to that song, as they did not know all of it. There was a lot of “La la la la… Texas Gold!”

LOL

I was not online much at all Friday, and only found out about it from checking my email later Friday night. When you see a email from VR- you read it, or at least I do. It tells me I need to reset my passwords, using these to log on.

Saturday Morning I reset the two accounts that was effected- a level 13 and 15. My Sire and level 20 was not effected.

I was also wondering if you would be interested in joining the coven of Eternal Darkness? Don't get me wrong we have a great group-- And with you having been around the rave for a bit it would be nice to have someone with your knowledge and expertise among us.

Eternal Darkness has 47 members. We have been in existance since August of last year and are holding strong in 5th place in overall standings and 1st place in Coven standings. We value Honor, loyalty, family, respect, and creativity. We do not forcibly induct anyone, thus everyone who is there is there because they were asked to be there because we found them to be an asset among us, or who has asked to join us. No nice chit chat, no how are you? nothing but a invite into the coven. Thanks- but no thinks. At least Images talked to me several times before I joined her House as a free Sire.

So I send back this:

Message To: NocturnalGoddess

Thank you for the kind offer, but I am very happy in House Eternal and will not be leaving it anytime soon.

:)

I wish you the best on getting the members you want for the Coven.

****

She sent back that she understood and asked me to keep the coven in mind if I ever wanted to change. Also to please add her as a friend.

Why? You can talk to tme first. I have deleted several people off my friends list and only have those who at least talk to me five or six times a year. What have you done?

She found me to be a "you an intriguing person and would like to get to know you."

Funny- you never sent any messages after I said no. Guess I did not stay a intriguing person after that.

*rat climbs for higher ground as the shit piles higher... climbs on Images shoulder and sits, happy*

"You know as a paid member you would of gotten a ten, but that nasty ass message you left I will let my rate (2) stand. By the way- work on the grammar, and the little boxes you have to hit to get the page to open is a pain. Good luck with that attitute."

Found this first thing when I got online. Nice. Blackmailed for a rate seems to be the latest drama whoring shit on this site. I went over to his profile to give him a ear full... but found a paid member. Hells bells- that is a ten from me. But he has a nice profile. Music, some writing that I think is complete bullshit (He is a vampire- you see)

But the lay out is good, the four little boxes you have to hit to even get the page to open is annoying as hell. Why do people do that? Do they think it is cute?

Now... what to send him back?

*sigh*

Not worth the effort. Leave that fight for others on this site.

"Hey Dad," one of my kids asked the other day, "What was your favorite fast food when you were growing up?"

"We didn't have fast food when I was growing up," I informed him. "All the food was slow."

"C'mon, seriously. Where did you eat?"

"It was a place called 'at home,'" I explained. "Grandma cooked every day and when Grandpa got home from work, we sat down together at the dining room table, and if I didn't li ke what she put on my plate I was allowed to sit there until I did like it."

By this time, the kid was laughing so hard I was afraid he was going to suffer serious internal damage, so I didn't tell him the part about how I had to have permission to leave the table. But here are some other things I would have told him about my childhood if I figured his system could have handled it:

Some parents NEVER owned their own house, wore Levis , set foot on a golf course, traveled out of the country or had a credit card. In their later years they had something called a revolving charge card. The card was good only at Sears Roebuck. Or maybe it was Sears AND Roebuck. Either way, there is no Roebuck anymore. Maybe he died.

< /FONT>My parents never drove me to soccer practice. This was mostly because we never had heard of soccer. I had a bicycle that weighed probably 50 pounds, and only had one speed, (slow). We didn't have a television in our house until I was 11, but my grandparents had one before that. It was, of course, black and white, but they bought a piece of colored plastic to cover the screen. The top third was blue, like the sky, and the bottom third was green, like grass. The middle third was red. It was perfect for programs that had scenes of fire trucks riding across someone's lawn on a sunny day. Some people had a lens taped to the front of the TV to make the picture look larger.

< BR>I was 13 before I tasted my first pizza, it was called "pizza pie." When I bit into it, I burned the roof of my mouth and the cheese slid off, swung down, plastered itself against my chin and burned that, too. It's still the best pizza I ever had.

We didn't have a car until I was 15. Before that, the only car in our family was my grandfather's Fo rd. He called it a "machine."

I never had a telephone in my room. The only phone in the house was in the living room and it was on a party line. Before you could dial, you had to listen and make sure some people you didn't know weren't already using the line.

Pizzas were not delivered to our home. But milk was.

All newspapers were delivered by boys and all boys deliver ed newspapers. I delivered a newspaper, six days a week. It cost 7 cents a paper, of which I got to keep 2 cents. I had to get up at 4 AM every morning.. On Saturday, I had to collect the 42 cents from my customers. My favorite customers were the ones who gave me 50 cents and told me to keep the change. My least favorite customers were the ones who seemed to never be home on collection day.

Movie stars kissed with their mouths shut. At least, they did in the movies. Touching someone else's tongue with yours was called French kissing and they didn't do that in movies. I don't know what they did in French movies. French movies were dirty and we weren't allowed to see them.

If you grew up in a generation bef ore there was fa st food, you may want to share some of these memories with your children or grandchildren.. Just don't blame me if they bust a gut laughing.

Growing up isn't what it used to be, is it?

MEMORIES from a friend:

My Dad is cleaning out my grandmother's house (she died in December) and he brought me an old Royal Crown Cola bottle. In the bottle top was a stopper with a bunch of holes in it. I knew immediately what it was, but my daughter had no idea. She tho ught they had tried to make it a salt shaker or something. I knew it as the bottle that sat on the end of the ironing board to "sprinkle" clothes with water because we didn't have steam irons. Man, I am old.

How many do you remember?

Head lights dimmer switches on the floor.

Ignition switches on the dashboard.

Heaters mounted on the inside of the fire wall.

Real ice boxes.

Pant leg clips for bicycles without chain guards.

Soldering irons you heat on a gas burner.

Using hand signals for cars without turn signals.

Older Than Dirt Quiz: Count all the ones that you remember not the ones you were told about Ratings at the bottom.

1. Blackjack chewing gum

2. Wax Coke-shaped bottles with colored sugar water

3. Candy cigarettes

4. Soda pop machines that dispensed glass bottles

5. Coffee shops or diners with tableside juke boxes

6. Home milk delivery in glass bottles with cardboard stoppers

7. Party lines

8. Newsreels before the movie

9. P.F. Flyers

10. Butch wax

11. Telephone numbers with a word prefix (OLive-6933)

12. Peashooters

13. Howdy Doody

14. 45 RPM records

15. S&H Green Stamps

16 Hi-fi's

17. Metal ice trays with lever

18. Mimeograph paper

19 Blue flashbulb

20. Packards

21. Roller skate keys

22. Cork popguns

23. Drive-ins

24. Studebakers

25. Wash tub wringers

If you remembered 0-5 = You're still young

If you remembered 6- 1 0 = You are getting older

If you remembered 11-15 = Don't tell your age,

If you remembered 16-25 = You're older than dirt!

I might be older than dirt but those memories are the best part of my life.

I hit and killed a doggy with my car tonight. I was getting into the left lane to take the bypass that was coming up about half a mile as two cars was coming on me fast, and I did not want to have trouble trying to get over as they passed me.

Turn signal, checked the blind spot, and I moved into the lane, turned off the turn signal and glanced back up and just at that second I saw him just running into the road from my right, running across to the left.

I could not do anything. I could not change lanes as those cars were right on me, and if I went left I would surely hit him. I slam the brakes on but I hit him. I heard the thump, the crack..then the back tire ran over him. I stopped- and see no one was behind me, so the cars must of past as I hit the doggy.

He was a golden color, big. Not fat, but a big dog. No collar. But what if he had been someones pet? What if some child never knows what happen to him, or her?

I put the cars flashers on and got out. I had to see if it was alive- see if I had to shot it to put it out of pain. I could not find him. Blood ...a large amount was on the road. I looked at the grass between the four lanes, but the dead grass about matched his coat. And I could only see a few feet in front of me as no light.

I started to call out "Puppy, talk to me." Nothing. I stood there crying, thinking- was I going to be able to shot it? I knew I wouldn't. I wished so badly he had been anywhere but in front of my car.

Knowing I hit him doing 65 or 70 miles a hour, and the blood stain on the road.. he was dead. I gave it one last cry out for him, but nothing ... no wimper, no noise of movement. I could not find him.

I left, asking the gods to help the puppy.

I have cried all night, and on the way back I had to pass the same spot, just on the other side of the road. I found his body there, in the grass, right on the edge of the road. I don't know if it threw him, or if he crawled that far before he died. From the look of his body I know he did not last long after I hit him.

I am so sorry I killed the doggy. I just hope he wasn't in pain the last few mintues of his life. But I am sure he was.

:(

The fact that you tried to comfort him, the fact that you looked to help him, the fact that technically he wasn't alone in those last moments, should put your heart at ease. Before he died, someone cared. I would have done the same thing sis.

Web cam here I come.

14:38 Feb 04 2008
Times Read: 2,658

A few years ago I remember talking to Birdy about all her computer things. About her mic and web cam. She always told me I would be a web cam whore before it was over. Ok ok…not in that term, but it was what she meant. “Don’t you worry- you will have a web cam before you know it.” I can hear those words in my ears even today. As people who know me, I am not the type of person to have a web cam. Hell- I hate talking on the web, and only a few people on VR has “spoken” to me, and those I trust not to make fun of the way I talk.

Let’s fast forward a few years and have me ordering the second notebook from Dell….

Last week I gotten my new laptop to replace the one the mother board was missing up on. I was trying to do a backup to save a few programs when it went black, and turned itself off. It kept doing this every time I was trying to do a backup. After cussing enough to make every dell tech ears burn, I picked up the phone to call one.

While he helped me to save the items (when a computer tells me its done with a backup- who knew it was not really a backup? Now you have to burn it to a disk.) I was able to add the saved items to my new laptop. As he was putting information about my printer on, I started to look at this new notebook.

And found it to not be the same as the one Connie picked and ordered for me. It’s about a inch smaller, different make number, and does not have my fast loading thing/hardware Cat brought me, even though it runs just as fast. Then I see a spot on the upper casing. I rub the spot, but it would not come off. I asked the guy what it was and he asked me what it looked like. “Black spot right where it closes at, small” He asked if I had a web cam.

O.O

I want it to be clear- I DID NOT order this one. lol

What I learned from this week....

16:27 Feb 02 2008
Times Read: 2,720

Here is what I learned from the experiment on VR

It is no longer a place I use to relax.

While I had started to branch out a little more to people, I learned I really don’t trust many, and was right to.

The ‘clicks’ of people are the norm on this site, even more then I thought before.

I have given VR more power in my own life then it ever should have.

I learned I need to pull back my action on this site, take it back to rating, nothing more to me.

And I can be very gullible to people’s lies.

Time to put the VR monster back in its cage. I have already deleted one account this past week due to not wanting to give this site that much time that I have left after family and work issues. I see another one leaving today.

If you need me for anything, you know where to find me.

I left for some time once, and gosh did I get so much done! You had better believe it . I prioritized what was important in my real life, and behold it wasn't long until I found out just how false those friendships were from those I had met on here, and who I had considered as, "real"

It is difficult to trust second time around now, but I know what/who is real to me. Itt took the extreme to find out.

Party for one.

03:45 Feb 01 2008
Times Read: 2,089

Listen to some music tonight to try and calm the nerves. Been on the edge for the last four or five days. Hell- since Thanksgiving even. Having those days of wanting to just snap at people. The phone rings and I cringe. The office door opens and I just want to yell at the person to get the hell out. I have had all I can take, and don't want anymore.

Mom is still not doing good, this cold weather is hurting both her and dad. The boys hours are cutting back with the weather, and lack of work. I know they have bills piling up and that worries me. I mean- they have familes to take care of.

Hell- my own bills are pilling up at work. Some major repairs on the trucks has hurt the money I had semi saved for the big insurance down payment. Loan for that and its hanging over my head. But at least we have started on the billing. Yeah! I really need to start working on the taxes. I have not even started those yet. *sigh*

Seems like people are pulling at me left and right. Very few people know what is going on in my real life because I don't want the "It will get better" comments. Like a Panther I know said in her journal- this is my pity party. And you know what- fuck you if I want to be here for a while.

But my attitude of late has shown me I need to take care of myself. I need to sleep...not easy to do with the worry. I need to eat right...not easy to do when I am so tired and can not leave the office. I need to workout...not easy to do when I am just ready to crawl in a dark hole at the end of the day, and just enjoy the quiet I can get on the weekends.

When I am stress I don't want people near me. Online is not that bad- I can always turn you off. (sorry- not being mean, but truthful) But in person- fake smile, fake laughter gets old really fast. And I am sick of doing it.

So - pity party for one and no one is invited to it.

:P

And when I am done with my party.... you will know.
