Got to love my family...
Sister "Can you come and help me with some house stuff tonight?"
Me "Uhhhh.... no."
Sister- "You working tonight?"
Me "Nope.. "
Sister *getting a little pissy* "Then why can't you spend a few hours helping me with some cleaning?"
Me "I can help during the day tomorrow. But I got plans for tonight sis."
Sis- "Oh. Well.. what plans?"
Me- "It's a pagan thing."
Sis "OHHHHhhh..... a witchy thing. Nevermind then. Fine, we can do it in the morning, or in the afternoon tomorrow. You go do you thing."
:)
Always support, even if they don't really 'get it'.
Ain't nothing like rolling your Mom around to give her a sponge bath, wash her hair, change nightgown, sheets and etc. in her bed as she is unable to get out of it now.
That was fun.
She tired to bite us. lol And she can still cuss ya out with the best of them. ;)
She had her best "Mommy" voice going with the "I TOLD you I don't want that water on me! Stop doing that!."
:(
But she is all clean, bed fresh, for the next few days. Till she will need it again.
Pressure cooker has a beef roast in it, along with season. Going to pull it out, cut it up as the tatters/ onion/ carrots will be put in the sauce.
Made fresh bread for dipping.
Brussels spouts are going in the oven in the cast iron with a little garlic oil.
Sounds like Sunday dinner for the family. :)
I guess this is a throw back from my childhood. Our company use to be open half a day on Saturday, meaning we worked till about 1 or 2:00 pm by the time it was done and over with. Saturday was usually shopping day so most of the time Saturday was the one night we got to eat out, as by them Mom with her 5 kids had just about reached her limit.
Sunday was sleep in day. Mom would never get out of her nightgown, and either would we. Most days she woke us up cooking a nice brunch. Unless Dad was home, or she had to do something for both set of parents that she took care of, we stayed home.
And she would cook. Something that would make the house smell so good, that made it feel like Sunday. Yes, we went to church, but by the time I was 10 or so and said I didn't want to go, she stop making us. Dad tried to fight her on that but... well- she never agree to pushing something on her children that she didn't think they "needed" to be happy, like meds. lol
So Sunday is still seen as a cooking day for me. :)
And I am still in my nightgown. ;)
COMMENTS
Love a house that smells of cooking, I think it's what makes it a home ... that and the nightgowns :-p
lol So true Blood, so true. :)
That sounds wonderful. :)
Am I the only one who gets turned off by the Gary Busey ad for Amazon TV thingy?
That was real smart marketing...
Not.
COMMENTS
Nope.I disllike it very much as well!
I agree !
No - you're not. That guy has creeped me out for years.
I think Gary Busey has had major brain surgery. Always liked him ever since he starred in 'The Buddy Holly Story.'
From Wikipedia
"On December 4, 1988, Busey was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in which he was not wearing a helmet. His skull was fractured, and doctors feared he suffered permanent brain damage. During the filming of the second season of Celebrity Rehab in 2008, Busey was referred to psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy. Sophy suspected that Busey's brain injury has had a greater effect on him than realized. He described it as essentially weakening his mental "filters" and causing him to speak and act impulsively. Sophy recommended Busey take a medication called Depakote, with which Busey agreed."
And yes, I love that commercial.
I knew of the medical issues he had, but don't see how Amazon thinks he is the right spokesman for this item.
But that is my take, as you prove not everyone's.
I can gift/sell/ share my photos now! :) Ok, some have asked for some prints and I never could understand how to get them order/ ship/ type thing. I mean- I can order prints from a place Otter told me of, and do. But sometimes I couldn't get the size I wanted, it crop wrong. And the way she told me to do it.. well... I am lazy. lol And not willing to put that much work into it. ;)
But now- if the one I ordered easy enough is right- I can offer them to folks. Cost of print only. They also have canvas and other products I am going to look into if this one print comes to me, and I like it enough.
Yeah! Now when folks ask for a copy, I know how to get them to them.
Ok- other then that I have done housework, cleaned the kitchen, and shower is next before I go and try and find Cat to spend the day with her and family.
:)
I really look forward to seeing if this print order comes out. I have to get two ready for the local photo show that is coming up in two weeks. This is the photo I could not get in the size I want, they kept cropping it. It just loses something when you take the top off, or the legs off. It needs it all to be the same. And the face in the curtains... :) Yeap, lets see if this small town is ready for a image like this.
A new Grimm and home made bowl of banana pudding make for a good night. :)
COMMENTS
Damnit, VeeDub. I want pudding now :(
Definitely try to be sure your food is finished before Hannibal begins.
Very true Images. That show... gives me nightmares. Not that its a bad thing. :)
I love both shows, and will also be watching them tonight!
Alas...I only have one over-ripe banana though.
Eating lunch and read on the AOL about a man who bought a home and moved into it. Only to find out later that the land this new home was built on was the land that held the home/ mansion of a man who would let young men live with him, for sex. Seems the men ganged up and killed the man. Now -did they know they had to folk over to get room and food? Or was it rape? I didn't read read that far. But it seems the man's life ended badly.
Not really what I was intrested in. What intrested me was the man who bought this home, and from the age of the story/ tear down of the mansion I would say it wasn't brand new, at a good price. Now he is taking the realtor to court to get his money back and he wants out of the home.
Ok... I know by law if a death/ killing happen in the home you have to tell any buyers. But the land? If a crime/ murder happen on the land, in a home, that is long gone?
I mean-.. *thinks*... if you believe ghost 'stay' and haunt... but then is that going to hold up in court? He said he had family/ friends who will not even come into the home due to the history of the land. And of course he tells of shadows he sees in the home.
Sorry but that would be a hard sell in court. "I want my money back because they sold me a haunted piece of land, judge!" o.O
Do I believe land holds it's history? Ghost? Sure. Same as the homes/ buildings/ hospitals/ etc.
But do I think you should get your money back due to it? No. You can't prove it, you can't show me how it harms you. And I don't think the person who sold you the home was hidding something, and didn't have to tell you.
Hmm... makes you think tho. *goes back to eating*
Back from taking my brother to the Doctors visits. Seems the hits keep coming....
*sigh*
Think I need a drink and bed early for me. Just about had enough today.
I wish for rain. No, I wish for a storm.
One of those wind blowing, trees waving, thunder, lighting in the dark sky kind of storms.
One that makes noise, makes the tin roof pop and crack, the windows shake with each hit of thunder.
I want to sit on my porch and watch the gods let the power just let go.
Yes- I want a storm.
A storm that will match that inside of me.
COMMENTS
That's my kind of weather! >:D
While I don't care for full-blown storms, I do wish that it would rain here.
Salem on WGN- new show to love! :D Way way darker then I expected, which made it a even better.
Woke up early to start the rolls for lunch, and had leftovers from Friday night with a fried egg. Move on to rolls, ham with a Dr. Pepper/ Brown sugar glaze. Roasted brussel sprouts with bacon.
I swear I have done dishes 5 or 6 times this weekend.
But a great meal was had, a visit with family and friends. Great day all around. :)
COMMENTS
Damn...now I'm hungry!
Well sisters did potato salad, and devil eggs. I also added Paula Deen Double Chocolate Gooey Cake. ;)
It was a great time, and everyone had plenty to eat.
If it wasn't for all that washing up I swear I'd cook more.
Really, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon - are you bored? lol, it really sounds yummy, in fairness I have roasted sprouts to but at Xmas!
Came home late last evening, for the third night in a row. Long week- as my kitchen shows. Right at my back door, walking in. Shopping done as the pile of diet Pepsi shows *on sale*, toilet paper and etc all over the counter top. Also the dirty dishes and odds and ends piled up. This is when you know I have had a busy week- it all gets drop in the kitchen/ at the doorway. lol
But I did put on some food.... which is good as for the second day in a row I had no lunch, ate late with the head pounding by the time I got to fixing food. Just wanted tatters and meat, even tho I should of ate some veg. *sigh* Oh well... bad me.
Added some onions, worcestershire sauce finished it off. Am I the only one who never knows how to say that word? Wor-ce-shire... War-ur-aire... Heck, I had to look it up on how to spell it, never mind ever being able to say it. ;)
And note on the kitchen table.... a 'borrow' item from my sister- all new and in the box. ;) But I knew it would take some cleaning, and a good night rest before I ever touched it.
Well kind of. I promised cookies to a guest here so I made the some cherry surgar cookies with chocolate chips. They came out good but made me look forward to trying the standing mixer after sleep/ and cleaning.
Which I had, and did. :D
Came out this morning. In time to make blueberrie muffins and two of the chocolate gooey cakes for Easter and the company we have.
And let me tell ya- this thing is powerful. I got crap everywhere. LOL What I get for trying to answer phones, trying to time everything to run together, and just not taking my time. Shield that came with it sat on my kitchen table, * to help with the power flying every which way, sugar to not turn into a cloud when you add it* sat unused as I forgot it, truth told. lol
Next time I might not make such a mess. Of course I made a mess with a hand mixer too so... heck, who am I kidding. I am a messy cook, always have been. ;)
But still- look forward to this stand mixer for a long long while. :D It is all clean, as well as the kitchen and its floor, sitting ready for our next time of baking or mixing. I see some tatters at some point this upcoming week. ;)
But now a shower to go help the local school band get funding by test driving cars at a car dealer, and time with Cat and her family.
Sunday it is Ham with a brown sugar/ mustard glaze. Rolls, and roasted brussel sprouts with some bacon and cheese. Sisters are making devil eggs and potato salad. All to be ready by 1:00 pm, so it is early to bed for me tonight as the rolls take several hours to rise.
Hope you all have a great weekend, happy Easter.

OMG - LOL!
You need to wear a bio-hazard suit when you cook, woman - lol.
Those taters look good - I like to make a similar dish, but I add onion, bell pepper, an egg, and parmesan cheese. Sometimes I'll add a meat to it, if it's handy!
Great pictures, I actually 'smacked' my lips.
I'd have to bring you over here and take you to Worcestershire where you'd never forget how to announce it ;-)
If it makes you feel better I forgot the shield the first time I needed to use it for a cake too and the mess was everywhere, even had to wash the underneath of the upper cabinets. That's how you know it's got power by how far it flung everything! But I'm really thankful you came out for the kids and to spend some time with us. Glad the Easter dinner went off great but with you cooking I knew it would be good.
Lol glad am not the only one, I even make a mess for a cup of coffee!!!!
Steak and taters as I call it is one of my favorite go to meals- yes, in a cast iron skillet as well. Only I buy the steaks that are on sale, cop them up and add some onions. Always good, and Scott now asks for it after me hearing "I thought we were having steak and mashed potatoes separately".
Just a heads up- next 'SEX" messages gets this answer. Poor Moonie was my 'first.' ;)

Ok Birdy and Cat... it is snowing. Now really- is it that big of a deal? I was out my door at 7:12 am and it was icing out. I had that second of "Wonder if school is out.." as the bus went down our road. So nope, getting in the car to go pick up one of the guys and bring him into work.
Only to have it start snowing by the time I get back... and now it is sticking to the ground.
And as I type this Cat calls, her and her sister telling me they blame me for the snow, my snow voodoo doll to blame. But really it isn't. It is their Brother's fault as I said nothing of snow. They were the ones talking about it Saturday, not me.
But still... it is lovely, falling on the pretty yellow flowers, dogwood trees. :)
Were else but Kentucky can you have this kind of weather? North Dakota ain't got nothing on us. ;)
Me watching Game of Thrones last night...
"Oh what a asshole."
"Freaking evil jerk."
"Ohh... you need to die."
"Can't wait till someone takes your head off..."
0.O
"Wait- NOooooo.... help the SOB someone!"
"But who am I going to hate now?"
"Well .... shit."
LOL
Long day and it is just past noon here. *sigh* Called our health insurance company this morning as they are due today, well really Friday. Anyway- since they did not send me a bill, or even faxed or emailed me one like I have requested for a month- we are at putting it on a credit card.
And of course each policy has to be done, one at a time. Sucky website.. I mean- really? So that flag the card, and they shut it down, declined the three charge. Fuckers...
*sigh* After two hours got that done after calls to them and the credit card company. Asswipes... checks would of been so much easier.
While I was in a raw ass mood I called Time Warner Cable. My bill that I open this morning is 23.00 more then last. Took the dude, who didn't speak english, to switch me over to another one who, while spoke english, he spoke it V e ry s l o w l y. I did say I was at work, right? Tying up my phone? And I had to keep from biting his head off with a "Just fucking tell me what we can do to lower this bill? Stop with the "TWC is here to help.. please wait. Thank you for waiting. Sorry you have to wait..." Good lord that made a few more shades of gray in my hair. lol
So I gave up and went online to deal with it. What did the little chat box tell me? Why- you have to call in to see what 'package deals' I could get now. Sorry but... WTF? Right?
So I did... a hour later my bill is down the $23.00 they added, and I get HBO for the year. Helllloooo Game of Thrones and True Blood. :D Oh- and I get Stars too, never watched it or heard of it but it was in the package so... whatever.
I did enjoy telling the nice lady her "TWC TO GO" didn't work in our area and she needed to stop throwing that out as a perk in packages. She checked, thinking I lies, and yeap, sure enough...not in our area. Just saying- don't lie to folks. Pisses them,...uh..me.. off.
And to work on the internet too. 50/50 that even works. But cheaper then phone internet at local phone company so. Maybe when they 'merge' not sell, as I was corrected this morning, with the new companyt that they sold to- we might get better services. God help if they get more shitty.
Now- that was my morning, going to take another muscle relaxer as my back is cramping up again and I got sink full of dirty dishes, laundry to do tonight. Damn housework just keeps at it no matter what.
But think I will call it a early day- might try and get out of here a few hours earlier today. *cross fingers*
Against TOS? What is against TOS?
If.. IF.. this is the same member- both are paid memberships.
Even IF they are the same person, it doesn't matter. They are not breaking any TOS.
Now- I never looked, don't care either way. It took me looking at the two profiles, seeing paid memberships so...
Be sure a clear TOS is broken before you start calling wolf.
Anyone who thinks a person has two profiles, and both are paid memberships, can see they wasn't breaking any TOS.
No that hard to understand the TOS.
Love muscle relaxers... I really do. :)
And Cat for putting a book on the kindle for me. Finally something to read as I lay in bed, ice pack on my lower back.
And sister who sent me lunch up....
World is good.
Rested yesterday and caught up on movies. Slept in and was doing one last load of laundry this morning when I reached down to pick up a dryer sheet that fell in the floor..... and the back went out, flet the disk slide.
Ouch.
Can't stand up straight. Going to bed with a heat pad, good book.
Be fun to try and do a office move in the morning like this.
Found out two bills I was trying to collect on are going to be paid. One email this morning and the 'audit' on my bill has shown they did not pay it. Duh.... helllO!
And the second on I just got off the phone and the company manager said he would see it was paid within ten days, as soon as I am set up as a vendor.
Wonders of the threat of small claims court does to folks.
Now that just leave one more to collect. That one is going to be the hardest as he moved his office into a building, shut the doors. I got his name but not much else. Landlord is hunting him now as he is late on his rent too.
All in all- Good news! Bad storms coming in so I am going to do the payroll, then head up to Mom's. The sky is dark as night here as I write this...... :D Love it!
Good day. Got Mom to eat all the roast beef off her Aarby's sandwich. Friday goal to get her up and in the living room chair. *cross fingers she is willing to get out of bed*
Take 4 cups Bisquick, 1 cup each of sour cream and 7UP soft drink. Mix together in a bowl as a cast iron skillet heats up in a 425 oven and melt 1/2 stick butter. Use some bisquick on finger, counter top as this is a wet one. Pat it out about a inch thick, I used a glass to cut out a dozen of these. Dip the biscuit in the butter, carefully turn it over to coat top and bottom and cook for 15 minutes. Mmm... one of these with butter, another with a tenderloin was supper. Rest going to the family.
Baked this Sunday- Paula Dean Chocolate Gooey Cake. This is so moist, and good.. Had to give most of it away or I would of ate it all. ;)

I can almost smell it - looks fantastic.
*drools all in your journal* yummy looking! :)
The cake looks so good!
Ain't nothing like coming out of the blue while talking to Cat last evening "Well- I couldn't find a penis today." lol Thing is she didn't bat a lash with that comment. :D She is really not shocked by much anymore.
I mean- she had to point it out to me, twice.
Oh on a image folks.
Do get your mind out of the gutter.
