To My Creator

You offered me a new life,
That dark, cloudy night,
So long ago.
How can I forget the passion,
I saw gleaming in your eyes?
The power of being reborn,
As a hunter of mortals,
Was too great to refuse.
It was not I who had asked,
But you who begged me,
To take the taste,
Of rebirth into darkness.
Like lovers we embraced.
It was you who led me to,
The blood slowly flowing,
Down your bare, gleaming chest.
So I drank greedily,
Feeling the power burn through my veins,
As you moaned with pleasure.
You lifted my head,
And kissed my crimson stained lips.
You held me as my mortal body died,
And new life took its place.
Once the pain of a dying corpse had passed,
And the strength returned,
I looked up at you,
Smiling with renewed faith.
I wept tears of blood,
And you kissed them way,
Reassuring me that,
This was only the beginning.
You then placed a ring on my finger,
Shaped like a newly formed rose bud.
The emeralds and rubies glimmered brightly,
As your eyes did in the dim candle light.
For centuries we were constant companions,
Hunting together,
Living together,
Sleeping together,
Until your death by guilotine.
How I cried for you.
The anquish I felt,
No one could imagine.
Now I must feed alone,
For the fear of losing a creation,
Of my own would send me,
Into a suicidal madness.
You were my creator,
My only true love.
I live so that you can.
Maybe one night,
I shall create another,
Only to keep your bloodline,
From fading from this Earth.
For now I search for others,
You may have created,
So that I may find a place,
Where I can feel safe,
And finally call home.
