It is selfish. They only care about about their need to get vengeance on the other person and not about how it will take a toll on the child involved.
It is sad that the child has to hurt because of this.

It is sad that most people don't stop to think about what they are doing to the child when they down the other parent... I personally don't get it... both people were good enough in the beginning to have a child together and things didn't work out that don't change the opposite person... That just means things didn't work out. So many times I have seen people call the other person names after they break up but they wouldn't have called them those names when they were together so what makes it right just because they aren't together anymore...
