this is only the beginning. there is more to come.
Dusk falls on a small town just outside of Orlando, Florida. The sun turns a red-orange color as it slowly sinks behind the horizon. The sky fades from a vibrant blue to purple and black blanketing the earth as she falls asleep for another nights rest. There is not a cloud in the night sky, the stars are shining beautifully as they twinkle and blink with a wide variety of beautiful florescent colors. The full moon hangs high shining a silver and white spreading its’ light across the land. Children are being tucked into their beds as their moms and dads wish them a good night. Light posts light up the streets for any who may be traveling at night. Nocturnal animals come out to wreak havoc in the city streets. Dogs bark and chase any cars that pass by, and knock over trash cans tearing apart garbage bags that have been left out for the garbage man to pick up early the next morning. Raccoons search through dumpsters, and trash bags stealing scraps of rotten meat and fruit so they eat. It’s a typical night in the city.
The door of a white two story house flies open and a little girl with long brown, no older than six, dashes out onto the front porch, down the steps and into the street. She had on a white skirt, white socks, and black buckle shoes. Her hair blew in the wind behind her as she ran down the street. In her right hand she carried a strawberry lollypop. A black bird lets out a caw as it flies over head stalking the little girl. A man with short black hair, plain white shirt, and blue jeans ran out of the house hot on her trail. “ANNIE!” he screams as he chases the little girl. The bird lets out another loud caw as it flies through the late night sky “ANNIE STOP!” The man shouts again. Ahead of the little girl, a light posts start to flicker violently. “IT’S TOOLATE TO BE DOING THIS, GET BACK HERE!” the man screams in an attempt to get the little girls’ attention. The black bird swoops down and perches its self on the light post ahead of the little girl then lets out another loud caw. “ANNIE STOP!” the man yells one last time. The little girl stops under the light post and watches the light as it blinks on and off repeatedly in a violent pattern. The bird pecks at the light post a few times, flaps its wings and lets out another caw. The little girl turns and licks her lollypop then watches as the man sprints up to her to pick her up. The man approaches the little girl and scoops her up holding her tightly. The bird lets out one last caw then flies away. As the girl is lifted off the ground she watches as her lollypop falls and breaks on the concrete below. “Why are you doing this you know it’s too late to be pulling this kind of stuff?” The man preaches to her. As the man makes his way back to the house, he looks down to see that the color in her skin had faded and her breathing had stopped, his daughter is dead. The bird flies overhead and disappears into the night sky.
i dont know waht to call this yet. but when im done i know ill have a name for it. this is only a prolouge. the next part takes place in modern day. i know wahti want to happen i jsut dont know how to put in word yet.
Winter is a harsh season in the northern hemisphere. The extreme temperature is cold enough to numb all feeling throughout the human body. The cold air makes it hard to breathe; even move and the icy wind only makes it even worse. The fallen snow reflects the sunlight causing blindness and leaves you helpless for days. God forbid you choose to trudge through it, after so long of time the frozen dessert can leave your extremities frost bitten and useless. And the falling snow mixed with the roaring winds feels like needles digging into your skin. And that’s on a good day.
A group of lost travelers make their way through the blinding, icy, white abyss. They’re village has been destroyed by a ruthless tyrant. Despite the harsh frozen temperature, the stench of burning wood permeates the air within the group. They have been lost for day with no food or water and not much clothing to protect them from a frozen death. Days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months as a terrible blizzard rips through the land. Their numbers dwindle from thirty-five to ten. As the numbers get smaller and smaller it felt like there is no way out and death is stalking them with every step they take. As their comrades fall the remaining survivors strip every piece of clothing they can get off of them and wrap it around their bodies layering the clothing to shield themselves from the icy storm. A Scream pierces the air and all moving feat stop. Everyone looks in the direction from which the scream came. One of the surviving travelers is going into labor six weeks early. Six of people in the group grab a body part of the pregnant female and lift her up in an attempt to keep her from falling behind. The group moves faster in hopes to find some kind of refuge not just for them but for the laboring mother to be as well.
The leader of the group, a youthful strapping young man takes charge at the front of the group, keeping them moving and making sure no one is left behind. In the distance he notices a small cloud of smoke. In excitement he gets ahead of everyone to scan the scenery. “Forward-hoe men, At last we find shelter!” he screams. The group moves as fast as they can towards the cloud while carrying the pregnant mother to be. They Approach a giant wall made of stone with gigantic double gates in the center. The Man in front begins pounding on the wall with what little strength he has left. The gates bellow with a loud moan three guards stand in front of the gates. “Please, you have to us. My Klan has been wondering for days without food or water. One of our members is in labor we cannot survive out here.” He begs. The guards give way and let the group in.
As they entered the small village the native villagers took notice and went to their aid. An elder woman living by herself had four rooms including her own. She took the group in and let them stay until they got better. With four people in one room and three in the other two, there’s not much room for personal space, but beggars cant be choosers, After all it is better than being out in that terrible blizzard.
The pregnant woman was in the second room screaming in sheer agony. A young atheticly fit female was cradling her head trying to comfort her as much as she could while dabbing a moist towel on her forehead. The leader of the group was at the other end helping the mother give birth. “PUSH, PUSH!” he screamed “KEEP PUSHING I SEE A HEAD” The mothers scream echoed throughout the house and into the village the poor woman felt like she was being tortured. The woman at her head began to sing
to the young mother.
“If you are lost without a way
You know where to go
Remember everything I say
Remember where to go
Through the trees and over the sees
And passed the great white snow
Before your eyes you’ll soon realize
You have found your way home”
Her singing greatly reduced the pain and comforted the mother to be, and she kept singing.
“I see the shoulders” The man shouts. “ONE MORE BIG PUSHES AND ITLL BE DONE!” The young mother took a few breaths, gathered up as much strength as she could clenched her fists squinted her eyes, ground her teeth, and curled her toes. She put everything she had into this last push, She scream loud, and then heard “THAT’S IT! I SEE THE FEET WE’RE DONE!” the young mother replies “oh, we’re not done yet!” then gave out another ear splitting scream. An eternity passed as the same process was repeated and the second newborn child came into the world. The new mother’s body went limp. She was exhausted. The young lady kept singing. People from outside the elderly woman’s house brought food and water to young mother and help clean the new born children.
“They are boy.” A makeshift nurse said as she handed the new mother her children. She began crying as she held one child in her arms, She looked down at the child in her left arm “hello victor” she kissed his forehead. Then looked at the child in her right arm “hello Reiken” and kissed him on the forehead. It felt as if everyone in the village was in the room pushing one another out of the way to get a glimpse of the new born children. The young mother cried with tears of joy. She smiled ear to ear at her babies wither her teeth glowing a pearly white. She looked up at everyone with those same glowing white teeth and tears streaming down her cheeks
With all the good energy and all the cheerful chatting and clamoring it just didn’t seem to feel quite right. It slowly started to get quiet and the young mother’s smile slowly faded away. The strapping young man took notice and went to her side. “What is it? What is wrong?” the mother replied “She’s here….” The man ran out the front door. “GUARDS, GUARDS! BLOCK THE GATES DEFEND THE FRONT WALL!” He screamed. “What is the meaning of this? The commanding guard shouted. “You have to block the gates and evil entity is coming you must defend the wall!” “ARCHERS!” the guard shouted. All the guards took position. The archers stood high on their posts with bow and arrows ready. The village was silent. It seemed as if time its self had stopped moving. After a while the guards began to relax and go back to their usual routine. “Ok sir very funny go back inside” The guard said. “NO! You don’t understand SHE’S HERE!” Then a shockwave followed by a loud explosion ripped through the village shaking it to its very core. The front wall was cover in smoke and a man riding a horse came barreling through the smoke with his sword drawn high. He rushed passed the first guard and swung down with a mighty thrust and cut the unsuspecting guards head off. More men followed him on horseback and on foot.
The young man had to push and thrust his way through a scared, scrambling mob of villagers pushing over one another trying to get of the house to their homes and families. After so much effort he wasn’t getting very far. He stopped and bellowed with a thunderous voice “GET OUT OF MY WAY!” the people quickly cleared a path “thank you” the young man said politely. He sprinted to the young mother’s room and poked his head in the door “We have to get you out of here NOW!” he grabbed the two babies and handed one to the young woman. “COME ON!” the man grabbed the mothers arm to pull her up and run but she resisted “I will only slow you down. I have done what I needed to do it is up to you to make sure they survive.” She yells. “Are you sure of this?” The man asks. “YES, NOW GO!” both the young man and woman ran out the door with a baby in one and a sword in the other.
The streets reeked of chaos. Houses burned, people were slaughtered like animals. No one was safe, woman, children…. elderly. Fiery arrows looked like raining fire balls of an apocalyptic ending. The young man and woman dodged, ducked, and fought their way through the chaotic village. Archers fire arrows as if they were modern day machine guns aiming for the men on horseback. Dozens of horses ran wild in a desperate attempt escape the madness. Both the young man and woman grabbed the first horse they saw and dashed strait for the crumbled gate. Enemy knights launched arrows, spears, blades, rocks, and anything else they could find to throw at them in an attempt to stop them from leaving the village. “Head for the mountains she will never find you there.” The man shouted “One day we will meet up again my love I promise!” He added. They crossed the gates, split into two different directions and disappeared into the icy white abyss.
Just as quickly as it started, the chaos had stopped. The small village quieted down. The stench of smoke and burning wood filled the village air. Children were crying. People lay lifeless in the streets; it looked like an apocalyptic nightmare. As gloomy as it was a cold chill ran through the village. The sound of crushing rock, and twigs snaping was heard clearly. Foot steps echoed off the walls of what was left of the houses. The foot steps were heading toward the house the elderly lady used to live in. The crushing rocks turned into thuds on a wooden floor. The new mother listened clearly as the foot steps entered her room. She looked up and the figure stand before her. It was like looking in a mirror. She had pale white skin, long flowing black hair, and eyes that could hypnotize the moon. “Sibyl my dear sister, how good it is to see you.” She said sarcastically with a fake smile and sweet tone. The she lowered her voice and her smile turned into a smirk. “I can smell you rotten stench a mile away.” She looked around the room “Where are they? Where are the children?” The mother sat silent. “TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE!” the woman demanded. “You’re too late. They’re gone.” The mother replied. The evil woman drew her sword. “Then I guess I’ll have to find them, then won’t I?” She held her sword high above her head, and swung down with a mighty thrust. A loud thud echoed off the bedroom walls as the mothers head rolled across the floor.
The woman sheathed her sword and walked back out the front door and turned to one of her knights that stood beside the entrance waiting for farther commands. AS she exited the house she stopped turned and looked at the knight. “Burn the village to the ground, leave no one alive” She commanded loudly. “YOU HEARD HER MEN, NO ONE LIVES!” the knight shouted, And the chaos began once again. Ignoring the noisy racket, the woman calmly walked toward the crumble mess that was once the entrance gate to the village and stood just out side of them. She squinted her eyes and scanned the icy white tundra. She looked east, then south, then west, then north. Then said to herself “One day I will find you” In a low whisper.
