So we found a brown bat in the yard, with a broken wing. I googled how to care for it and a bat rescue site. The closest one is 80 miles away. We have a call in to see if they will take it and help it, waiting to hear back from them on if they will at least meet us half way to pick it up. I hope it survives until then. I knew I had a couple of bats that fly around our street light we have a lot. I didn't realize they made sounds like this one does. Clicking noises. We put it in a box under the carport to keep it out of the weather because we had strong winds and then a thunderstorm last night. It's still alive today. I hope they get back to us soon.

update: The Bat rescue rehabilitator finally called back and has arranged a transport for the bat. So if the bat survives the night, I will be meeting them in the morning. Just in time for the colder weather too. We have cooler weather coming in, i hope temporarily. I was really enjoying the warmer weather! But I wanted to share the good news that the bat would get to the rescue center. She said they do have circumstances where the wing tear can be repaired or heal. It depends on how bad it is.

Thanks all! I was so happy to hear from them. Theodora, I am going to ask them tomorrow if they will keep me updated, or I will just call them to check on it. I hope it just stays strong through the night.

AWW!!! OMFG, the poor widdle fing!!!! So, what ended up happening with the bat?? Did they keep you updated?? Hopefully they helped it heal and then released it into the wild instead of giving it to scientific research or something. You know how fucked up our gov't can be here in the US. :/
