Sunday ramblings

An icky rainy cold day outside. The male in my life stood me up for the weekend. So I made soup yesterday. Pretty good but I have now fulfilled the yen and will freeze the rest. I also helped a friend out by giving her a love seat, vcr, and chest of drawers from storage.
Thought I might have roast tonight but I didn't get a final invite. (slides eyes toward a certain Rat) But it is ok. I have managed to nap twice and do a bunch of nothing. I think I might be fighting something....tired and sort of achey but hard to tell if it is something or just my arthritis acting up in the coldness.
Tomorrow I have an early long day. Lots of driving and meetings.
Rambling done for now.

Thankful for so many things in my life......

On this weekend of Thanksgiving celebration I wanted to take a moment and list some things in my life for which I have been so very grateful.
Family - My parents are living and mostly healthy. I have a close knit family who are there for me no matter what.
Friends - I have some AWESOME best friends and others who I consider good friends and still others that are good acquantinces.
Education - I have an excellent education with the culmination in two Master's and then liscenure beyond that in one of them.
Employment - I have a good reputation in what I do and it is spread into a large community in my field. I am employed with a good full time job and several part time jobs that are my "fun" monies.
Housing - I have lived in the same apartment for over 18 years. I would like a home of my own that has NO stairs but I can make do still.
Transportation - I will have by auto paid off in Feb and it is doing well. I love my Honda.
Health - I am pretty healthy for the weight and age I am. My knees are pretty bad, but I am in physical therapy for that and there I see others worse off than me.
Leisure - I am actively involved in Civil War reenacting and have managed to help the local one grow and flourish. I enjoy time with friends. I like movies and reading and taking drives in the country. And naps are good too!
Travel - I have managed to see about 20 states, Canada, and the Bahamas. The ocean or water in general pulls at my soul as nothing else can.
Spiritually - I have explored this area in my life and have come to be at peace with my idea of God/dess. That the God and Goddess are just opposite sides of the same coin. I am still basically Christian (hard to get away from that upbringing) but with some Wiccan ideas and rituals mixed into my life and spirituality.
Love - I have not gotten this area of my life to my liking as yet. But I keep trying. I have had a few I thought were the "right" ones and they have not been. I saw a quote on a friend's myspace and stole it for this.
"Someday someone will walk into your life and you will realize why it never worked out with anyone else."
Well I think I have covered most things. I do try to be thankful every day for these things in my life. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes not. But at least I keep trying.

Muscle relaxer last night

I forgot how bad they make me feel the next day. I took ONE flexeril last night thinking that it might relax my muscles so that my knees wouldn't hurt as much.
Well that happened...sort of....but dang...I feel like I should be under the building. I slept until 11:30 and just had a nap from 3-4:30 and I just feel lifeless and drugged still.
So no more.....nope....that stuff is nasty.

Today I had the urge to start my own group on the SciFi net..it is Stargate. Come see what the "big sideways flushing toilet" leads to in another galaxy.
It should be an interesting ride.

One of these days I am going to have enough time, energy, and want - to actually write something interesting here.
In the mean time.....you get this.
I might even put some photos in from my photo class. :)
I worked on restoring old photos tonight. :)
Way early morning for me tomorrow....on the road by 8 and all day meetings until 5. YUCK!!!

Opps... I have to say I did not get that roast cooked till 5:00 or so. I layed around Sat and spend Sunday doing all that I needed to do. :)
