Snorts......lol.......I see VW as a lot of things.....motherly is not really one of them.
Strong, assertive, protective of and loyal to those she loves......but motherly? (Hears her saying..if you are sick...don't you come near me.....stay the hell away...)

Am so not liking the time change....it always leaves me feeling rushed and tired.
Course having a week off for Spring Break didn't really help any.
My students are doing a Teddy Bear drive for April...for Child Abuse Prevention month. We will then in turn give them to the area law enforcement to give children when they are taken from their homes and parents. I lead them a little to the project but am still proud of them for all the work they are putting into it.
Going to go through mail tonight. Have a really bad habit of letting it pile up and then having tons of it to go thru and toss or pay the bills.
Finally got around to reading the Twilight saga over Spring Break. Not too bad ...:) I like happy endings and the way the author tied up all the various threads.
My knees.....have been aching much more the last few days. Even my one that usually doesn't hurt ...IS hurting.

Mom made it through the surgery with flying colors. In fact, she has done so well that she has not had to take a single pain med. WOOT!!
But the motion sick patch she has...has made her loopy enough. She has been .....hilarious. :)
Tomorrow is my Dad's 74th birthday. :)
I am so lucky to have them....and to have them still active and mostly healthy.

Mom is having gall bladder surgery in the morning. It should be fine..but as with any surgery.....there are risks.
I pray she will come through with flying colors.

It has been going on all week.......and I must say I do love it.
What? My birthday of course, Silly!!
Today is my actual birthday but in order to fit the various groups of friends in that I have, we started on Wednesday.
Wednesday night was dinner out with my friends from the hospital where I used to work for 10 years full time and only part time for the last nine and a half. Yes I have been there ...20 years this July 30. Some of them have been right there with me since day one. It has been good to have friends there who see you day in and day out and still like you.
Thursday night was dinner with my high school friend Donna. She and I have been best friends since then. Even though we had classes together and knew who each other was we did not really get to know each other well until our junior year.....and were pretty inseparable in our senior year. I am even the Godmother to her kids. No more than a day or so will pass with out one of us calling the other....usually we talk more than once a day really. We have had our ups and downs but few people really know me from that time and know what I was like and the things I experienced growing up like she does.
That has now been 30 years. WOW.
Today at lunch I went out with my parents. I love them dearly and thank God that they are still going and mostly well and healthy. Dad could not remember what time or day of my birth but he remembered that I "was held up by the Dr on your stomach and had a head full of dark hair and just squirming away". My Mom said it was 3:42 in the afternoon (Which is EXACTLY this moment) on a Thursday. It was during a flood and the first route they took to the hospital, they had to turn around and take another road as the water was too high. glad Mom made it to the hospital or I would have been a roadside baby!!
This morning I had a call from my college buddy. She had remembered! We have made tentative plans to get together this coming Saturday. It has been almost a year since I saw her.
When I logged on here to VR, there was a message and a lovely stamp from RedQueen or Puppy. A new, wonderful, friend that I found here in a most unlikely place for me. Why unlikely? Well, to be honest I would never have come here if it was not for Cat and Rat. They loved it and I didn't know what they hell they were talking about most of the time. I got tired of being left out of the conversation. Yes I am that attention needy sometimes....lol
But, I came, I saw, I stayed, I made a friend or two.
Tonight.....are my Cat and Rat and our other friend Danna. We are going to a new place here in town.....called Beef O Bradys. I am glad we hold our Friday night gal pal night. such a good way to end the week and start the weekend.
I met the three of them at the same time. It was due to a picture in the newspaper....Rat looked like ME in the photo and I knew I did not know those people in the Star Trek group.....but I wanted to...and to know who that girl was that looked like ME. Yes ..Star Trek....that is what brought us together in the first place.
It boldy went where I had never gone before anyway....lol.
So, I called the number listed...and the rest as they say....is history. They have become fast friends. I count on them for many many things.
So....it has been a good week that has not yet ended. My birthday is something I try to celebrate by looking around me and seeing the people in my life that mean so much to me. I hope that I give back to them the knowledge of just how much that is.
