I now understand why I have never seen anything exactly like the site update I am working on. It's a butt-load of work. I just spent the last 5 days (60+ coding hours) working on a single page. It's a big part of the update, but I was thinking it would take 2 days at most.

Instead, it turned into several thousand lines of code.

I think I'm around 30-35% done at this point. I'm projecting the project will be done in the second or third week of July, at which point beta testing will start. I really have no idea how long beta testing will run. It may be a few weeks or a few months.

My goal is to get the project released publicly by August 1st. However, there are numerous things that might come up that end up pushing that date back.

Now, if you were Microsoft, the update scheduled for release on August 1 would have to be pushed back, at least until 2011.

Just don't be creating Vampire Rave Vista Edition and everything will be all right.

I started work on June 10th. I've been working every day since then, somewhere between 10 and 12 hours per day.

The Next Big VR Update

I'm working on a very big update. I won't be able to keep it a secret much longer. There will be a test crew and once they start testing I don't think the cat will stay in the bag.

Phase 1 will be upper admin testing (They know how to keep a secret).

Phase 2 will be Acolytes and up testing (I don't think these guys can keep a secret).

Phase 3 will be general release.

I'm hoping to start phase 1 around July 1st. Phase 2 should start about a week after that. Phase 3 should start no later than August 1st, but the update may go online sooner than that.

I'm working 12 hour days on this project, every day. I'm not taking any breaks until it's done.

This update is big. I think it may be bigger than the Society System update. It may totally reshape the landscape of Vampire Rave.

While you're at it, could you upgrade the vampire box too, to make it a little bit more conventional in its use? Perhaps making it bigger and with an ability to send private messages and having the BLOCK function work on it too (Or just a separate blocking for it)

You could just steal code from elsewhere, y'know what I'm sayin'

i LOVE surprises. AND its my birthday soon so this might very well be the birthday pressie im most pleased with.
