Over the last several years I have been very disappointed in the movies Hollywood has released. There just haven't been any good films. However, over the last two months I've seen three-and-a-half movies that are just outstanding. It almost makes up for the garbage that's been out there over the last few years.
Here's my brief reviews:
COMMENTS
I honestly adore most of Natalie Portman's work. I am looking forward to seeing the Black Swan. As well as Winter's Bone.
I usually stay away from newer movies when they come out, 99% of them are crap and not worth the film they are printed on. Although there are, as always, a few exceptions to be had.
Winter's Bone was a great film. Completely underrated too. Glad to see somebody else liked it as well.
For whatever reason, I've been remembering and thinking a lot about my past lately. More specifically, my youth. I've had numerous dreams about my childhood. In my waking hours, memories reemerge.

I remember stuff like this too. and sometimes it pulls on the heart strings. And the 1999 thing, i remember everyone buying loads of batteries, and flashlights, and can food. so scared of the worst.
I do that quite often. Remember things from when I was younger. :)
Felling your mortality maybe?
Guess 2000-2010 was a blur of Acrimony and the Rave. Do you ever dream about VR? hehe I'd love to know the answer to that cause I've had dreams about rating the dtabase and I cannot get out the gates are locked til I'm done LOL
YES! You are threshold of memories and wonderful stories - may it be sad/happy ones.
Rock on, Mr. C!
Being... *ahem* as young as you are, I know exactly what you're referring too. Especially when I hear my children lament about how many years of school they have in front of them.
We only start to learn about how quickly time passes when we realize so much is behind us... for them, it seems like the things they're looking forward to will never arrive. For us, we realize the moments we look forward to are fleeting and limited.
Life is a funny thing...
so nothing happened between 1999 and 2011?...what about vr?
I think the older we get, the more the earlier memories surface. I've been remembering things lately I had forgotten for years. Maybe a form of life flashing before our eyes? *shrugs*
I do as well, maybe because life was so much easier and carefree....(All except my brother always trying to kill me with stunts he made me try first)...lol
So what does it all mean?
You and I are the same age. I have been thinking about my past quite a bit lately as well.
I don't know how it is for men, but I can say for women (because I am one) that getting old is scary as hell!
I have days where I just sit and cry. It isn't because I'm a baby. I'm scared.
I remember when I couldn't wait to get older, so that I could go where I wanted, do what I wanted, and eat what I wanted. Now I'm sitting here wishing that I could be young again.
I wish that life would slow down a little~
There must be something wrong with me. Every frickin TV show I like this season is getting horrible ratings. Which means these shows I like won't be around long.
Lights Out - 0.5 share, 0.7 million viewers
Spartacus, Gods of the Arena - 0.8 share, 1.1 million viewers
V - 5 share, 5.278 million viewers
No Ordinary Family - 4 share, 5.292 million viewers
Justified - 2.1 share, 3.5 million viewers
Smallville (last season, already canceled) - 3 share, 2.232 million viewers
Big Love (last season, already canceled) - 0.6 share, 0.992 million viewers
V and No Ordinary Family look the best in the above list, but that's because they're compared to other shows with crappy ratings. Each will probably be canceled this year. A show with good ratings is something like this:
NCIS - 10 share, 18.977 million viewers
And NCIS is a show I can't stand. I seem to only like crappy shows.

Smallville did get kind of weird towards the end.
I have watched Smallville since season one, have not looked at one episode this season due to the direction it was going... Loved it and it was getting to weird for me like the writers were grasping for straws. I planned on grabbing the season DVD's when available.
V! Love!!! It is just getting good in my eyes! Anxious to see what happens with Lisa and Diana
yeah not sure why "V" is having so much trouble, i liked the original and i like the new one.
I will miss Smallville. It is my favorite t.v. show :(
Hey, I like Spartacus. hee heee heeeeeee
I gave Smallville a chance when it first came out as it was marketed to me as Superman the beginning years.
When I saw an episode or two it turned out to be Superman the 90210 years, bleargh teenage drama with one shot of x-ray vision an episode.
I also gave no ordinary family a chance but after a few episodes I had to drop it.
THATS WEIRD IT SOMETIMES HAPPENS TO ME 2
No, no, no... you don't like crappy shows. You're in the unfortunate demographic of NOT being the lowest common denominator. You think for yourself and don't just watch what the big 3 and society deems you will watch.
It's called... free thinking and having good taste.
If you jink the show Justified- I am not going to be happy. :(
Good shows that you have listed, but some people have no taste. Aren't you glad you are in the minority.

Adorable.
:)
Yep, those dogs definitely dig each other.
She's a good looking beagle. She'll get a lot more exercise now as well with a playmate.
:) The simple love and joy pets bring.
Awww they're so cute!
Nice :)
Love that sneeze thing most dog's seem to do
when playing they seem very happy indeed...
Absolutely ADORABLE..........And Sushi looks very good health wise for a shelter dog.......
Very smart to play and roughhouse in the shade. The sun out there can be murder! =)
I've had a beagle (named Zoey) for a little over 2 years. She's a great dog. She's got a good temperament and she gets along with any person or animal. She's unique in that she has never growled at another person or animal. It's a trait I've never seen in a dog before. There couldn't be a more friendly animal.

I am going to have my own beagle one day. They are a fantastic breed of dog.
However, with a newborn that's going to be born soon, I've opted for a smaller dog that I can raise with my daughter-- A Chic Pom.
Its awesome the Zoey has a friend now that she can form an attachment too.
Her only friend WAS a that guy that hangs banners crooked on his walls. :P
What a happy story for everyone!
It makes me smile to see Sushi with you and Zoey. =) It really does.
:)
This reminds me of when I found Megan for Holmes. Only she had been so damaged I almost didn't take her home.
Holmes however had another idea, after Megan did every behaviour that would normally have him fighting the other dog, he stood perfectly still and shot me a look, "I love her mom, can we keep her?"
They were together 11 year and only had 3 fights that literally were done before I could even stand up. It is amazing how much these animals feel- and when it is a good match, nothing will break the bond.
That is amazing.
I am glad you found Zoey a friend to play with and grow close to. I think dogs should come in pairs, especially if the owner is not home a lot or works a lot and can not give them all the attention they seek. ;)
I have a cat story like that- which is particularly strange because cats usually hate each other right away when they first meet. I have two females that on the very day of meeting curled up on the couch with their arms wrapped around each other for a nap.
Lol, "like two little lesbian puppies."
Beagles are awesome.
Doesn't Charlie Brown also have a beagle?! ;)
I just came across the beagle breed this year - you are right they are awesome dogs. I got one from a shelter on January 1st. My Julep is a mix.
Horray for you and your little family.....and no dog will love you more than a shelter dog
I love beagles!! and it's great that Zoey has a playmate...
And LOL at the two little lesbian puppy comment!
i really love the story and the dogs look so cute together! very adorable. ^_^

Ozzy is such a wreak I wonder how he manages to do anything. Period.
I watched the Osbornes at home reality show and I was horribly glued to it. Talk about dysfunctional...anyway, despite the years of heavy substance-abuse, Ozzy has a heart of gold and its very apparant how much he cares for his family. I personally think he's great, weird but great :P

Daire just pointed out, and I think it's true....
The guy who goes "I don't know, kinda looks like a girl" is Justin Bieber in makeup.
Haha.

In May 2005 Ozzy found out it was actually Parkin Syndrome, a genetic condition, the symptoms of which are very similar to Parkinson's disease. Osbourne will have to take daily medication for the rest of his life to combat the involuntary shudders associated with the condition.[
