many people dream to be immortal ,but how you gonna achieve it do you have any idea? what is immortality.
when we die body is left behind and soul is gone ,but where? actually you never die. ..to be continued
post your theory as a response .
I wish to be immortal but how to achieve that is anyones guess.
I do not think I would want to be Immortal. You out live everyone you love, over and over. That has to be harsh. Though I just thought about something. No one is immortal. We all will die. But I wonder is cloning close to Immortality? Though I would not want to be cloned either.
We are all immortal no matter what religion you follow. To Christians you go to heaven or hell, we Greeks go to one of the three lands of Hades. Witches join the mother of all witches Hacate. How ever to not leave your body you must age not or age far beyand slowly. Keep in mind that vampires are descended from witches.
I love the subject of immortality. Really we are trying to make it happen in reality. People have been cryo frozen and if in the future they can re-animate those people they will have outlived all who they know. Of course with us being on this site there are all kinds of theories how to extend or achieve immortality. Is it possible??? That remains to be seen.
I do not seek immortality. I admit the thought of all the possibilities has crossed my mind. Most think of Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and even the likes of Highlander. It has been mentioned already, Cryo sleep and such would preserve the person in to the future. That is if they survive it the process. I am not sure that I could personally endure such an eternity. The reason would have to be a really good one.
I think our soul moves on.. Never dies.. Just goes to the next place.. If I die.. I wouldn't want it to be the end of me.. I would like to believe that I would move on to something better..
I think we are immortal in a sense when our body dies do we truly know if our spirits disappear or could they take on a different form
I would be happy if my soul simply moved on to the next life. There is so much that I want to see and do that I am not sure one life time is enough.
As I say, we are all immortal. It is the body that is fleeting and if that dose not happen then your soul will not leave.
A soul truly never dies....so in other words it would be immortal
I have no desire to be immortal. I will live as long as I am meant to.
I believe everyone is immortal in their own way. I do think it depends on religion as well. No matter what, our names still live on. Our deeds on this planet live on. Isn't that enough for immortality?
Here is a thought many religious folks belive this as do many natives in my tribe. We all have a soul everything does. Hence the term soul mate ect. So if everyone has a soul it would seem that the soul would need a host body would it not? I think perhaps that the body is just a shell a sort of protective shield so to speak. The soul never dies. At least we hear things all the time. But as the spirit of animals can guide us why not then could our souls move on to guide and protect others of younger generations from a astral realm. People speak of out of body experiences makes sense if the soul leaves the body during astral travel.
I would love to be immortal. If it could happen it would be through science and a lot of research. It would not be easy to obtain.
Greetings: It thinks in me that Pythagorean Hylozoics makes the most sense. http://www.esotericscience.org

I guess your soul rests and sits on a shelf
Somewhere until your number is called!
My question if you were an average
Light / dark, bad / good person.
Would you come back similar to what
You are now maybe different sex or race.
Or do the bad ones come back as cockroaches
And good ones Gods and Goddesses???
I believe we are all immoral. I believe in reincarnation- the Pythagorean Hylozoic and Theosophical definitions. Everybody be blessed!:-) Lutris8
The material world is all an illusion, when the flesh dies, your spirit or soul moves on where it started from. The reality.Everything is energy and or atoms. This energy is God all powerful all knowing.Jesus said ''THE FLESH IS WEAK BUT THE SPIRIT IS WILLING''.You and I are spirit we all are one in the same we are all connected. There is no death. The spirit lives forever eternal.Namaste'
And the answer to your question my dear I'm already dead I was buried in Hungarian woke up afraid not realizing what happened to me for a moment then they covered up saying that my body was transferred elsewhere but reality I just left and never came back I only grabbed a few things that means something to me I have traveled ever since that day if you must know but no truly I can't die it's down on paper of the efforts of the humans though not even a bullet through my head did any good my throat slit car crashes all the sure things others say that you can die from just doesn't work with me I guess I can't die twice just continue my years
I know our spirits / Souls are immortal. However, being physically immortal would not bother me. I know science has not caught up with that desire and "Highlander" was just a TV show. The Hollywood demigod Vampire is nowhere to be found that I have seen anyway. We live our life to the fullest and do our best .
I heard something once that stood out.
The body is the vessel and the soul is the passenger.
Which makes it seem like when you
Die your car is broke down. You need
another car or a ride!
I would love to be physically immortal. I know there are some drawbacks but just think of the things you could accomplish if you had all the time in the world to do it.
I am not sure if I would want imortality in a world that is slowly killing itself, destroying its living habitat and only place that can substain life (at least for now) where everyone is killing each other because of differences that are not even real, as the we are basically to begin with the same.
The imortality of one, to live in a world doomed to end, then again, if we were imortal then maybe we would focus on making sure the planet stays a living place and work towards different goal, as time would not longer be an essence or a feeling or urgency. Disease and other means of death would not exist so the world could be a better place if all were imortal.
Immortality is said to be gained through the working of the magnum opus, a very advanced set of meditations. Through the alchemical way, the practitioner produces a type of vitae that seeps from the pineal gland and collects in the solar chakra site, and then the kundalini rises and the body is healed of all disease and immortality is reached. I even heard that Nicolas Flamel, by now a very old man, is still healthily living now in India.
Of course, experience should be our judge foremost, as long as it is accompanied by an open mind.
I have to laugh my own answer, because I can hear the combating comments. "Why would you want to live forever?"
This routes back to my younger days when I watched vampire inspired movies, there was such grace and admiration for an elder vampire. The wisdom that they collected was beyond measurable. Even though their human lives were no more, they continued to live as an example. No matter what the intentions where, many humans and fledglings alike were either frightened or in awe by the ancient being.
I think there comes a time in everyone's life, where you have to stop and appreciate the life that's in movement around you. Humans are not make to live an incredibly long life, our body must die. Yet, if I had the chance to be immortal I would take it graciously.
(If phsyical Immortality existed) I would continue to wander and watch new generations as they grow, watching humanity evolve while I would remain apart of history. Who knows, I might end up taking on a student just so I could spill my years and years of knowledge onto someone else who would use that to their advantage. If I could give the gift to someone else, perhaps I'd take on a momentary lover as a way of coping with the abundance of time.
In reality, because I would never age, I couldn't be seen too often in one place. Perhaps a hundred years of rest would do me good. (As you can see, I've put A LOT of thought of into this.)
No matter what, I'll continue to hope/ and or search for the gift in knowing that I will never see it or experience it.
@Rosenflight, I agree with you. To be immortal and live that long to have the wisdom and experience to share with the world . I would gladly do that if it would help others. A gracious gift it would be.
not many people can say that they are immortal but some for sure have been in our history . some and most are not human at all . like angels and demons and thos whos names i am very unsure about . one thing is known you do not get old by sleeping around you get old without any sleep . but then who is it that so many who say they have immortality say also they stay up most of the night. i have seen by watching animails that they do live a lot longer with less stress and more sleep and a better diet .
I desire to be immortal. I have never lived and I want to see what life really is. I love to experience it without the fear of not knowing that when will I die..
i say that death is only one form of a start not a end . death starts the rest of your life that never ever ends .
You are correct about that in order to have immortality you have to die first
Ahhh...those pesky humans. Their dreams about immortality is just a dream. Do they know that the key to immortality, exist only after you pass away? For the inmortal, they just smile, and keep walking...and reading thread like this one.....
yes, to have immortality we need die first. and that's what I said I like to be immortal to live..
and even the dead can die
I don't need eternity to enjoy a good 50-80 years of living.
Well in the age of Egyptians immortality was being teached by the gods it was as a gift to higher wisdom but there some that can leave there body and jump to new one as host so there levels of immortality so why fear death if you have to face it you may out live your love ones but you may see them at some time
Only our soul is immortal, our bodies are meant to eventually deteriorate... Live your life while you can.
ive alwys thought I was immortal. idk why - still have never broken a bone yet or gone to a hospital. I also believe I'm a descendant of greek goddess soooo lol
My this is kind of a fragile topic.
(This is my personal theory)
Death is inevitable in our physical dimension, and once our bodies pass, our energy becomes more exterior than interior. To what was once a single embodiment of our souls/energy, then transgresses to a different plane of existence. Those who are not content with passing of their death, or perhaps those who refuse to leave due to the inability of peace, will be "inbetween" death and life. Serving as apparitions and can as well serve as a "ghost" as many call them.
Immortality of the body is potentially close via technology. Check out the work of Aubrey de Grey, a professor of genetics and gerontology and chief researcher at the SENS Research Foundation. SENS is an acronym for Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence. His research focuses on arresting the aging process via medicine and emerging technologies. He gave a TED Talk on the topic that is available online.
The cultural effect of such an advance is up for debate. My own view is that it would create a dystopia straight out of a science fiction story. The treatment would be so valuable that only the most wealthy and powerful could get it, and they would then effectively be deities on this planet while everyone else shriveled with age. One can easily imagine the social consequences of such a situation.
If there is a part of the human that is immaterial and, thus, beyond the second and third laws of thermodynamics, it may continue to persist after death, but there is little clear evidence of such, and what evidence we have is anecdotal and therefore incapable of standing up to scientific standards of rigor.
immortality of the body i would think would have a ethical stand point, as to what is and what is not ethical in exploring and creating such a state with our bodies, minds or spirits
for some immortality is being remembered or known for something or having your name spoken long after your death and for others it is the desire to exist in the same vessel as you are in now in your current state but surpassing time and space to achieve these things.
Sometimes I think the others on the other side
Are laughing at us like through a two way
Mirror!
i would say a lot of the point of Immortality is how it is looked at..
To go on forever?
To live forever?
To physically live forever?
if you are decent to people have lots offriends, live a full life, do something historic, isn;t that being Immortal? you live on through those who remember you and tell of your life.
physically Drs and Scientists are getting closer with their DNA research and splicing dna strands to genetically remove certain things. pretty soon they will be able to stop aging too, or make us live longer due to hybrid splicing
I don't think I'd want to be immortal. Not because I couldn't handle the concept of never dying, but because by being immortal, that simply ensures that one will, in fact, spend their entire existence surrounded by arseholes.
And to the guy posting above, I think you need to buy better made one's.
I think one way to make sure you're immortal is though your children, having them. Leaving a legacy behind.
The answer is, we are ALL immortal and will most likely keep returning to physical manifestation because it's our "curiosity of soul" that wants to. However, some have been returning for so long they are tired of it and hope to stop at some point. Energy cannot be destroyed therefore everyone that is living, will continue to do so until they themselves decide not to anymore.
Immortality is kind of like drugs.Living forever sounds cool, but then you get bored and then what do you do?

Some folk can run out of reasons to live, others may not. Immortality would be a gift or curse depending on the individual and how well they can adapt to the changing times, a rigid person would be out of touch and be left behind in time.
And what of those that wishes to no longer be immortal what then how can they change it?
You can achieve semi-immortality by doing something worth remembering throughout the ages. Like Leonidas and the 300.
Immortality to me means, that one cannot be killed, no matter what happens. People talk about fictional vampires being immortal but, in actuality, they wouldn't be. The sun alone would kill them.
When thinking about immortality, consider, if the planet Earth were to explode to nothing but dust floating in space, what would survive? Anything that didn't survive, cannot be considered immortal.
It's just a theory of mine nothing more I'm human just like you ^_^
I believe that humans have an eternal soul. We are immortal already. Our bodies die, that is all.
Immortality isn't about the body living forever.
We're made up of materials that aren't meant to last forever.
Not unless there's a special DNA that prolongs it's deterioration, otherwise it's all about immortality of soul.

Immortality can both be defined as true immunity to all death (which I call invincibilty) or simply an immunity to "natural" death.
When folk talk about immortality they usually only mean immunity to natural death such as age, diseases, poisons and so on.
And yes indeed, another form of immortality is to be remembered for all time, Julius Ceaser, Vlad Tepes, Jack The Ripper and the Zodiak, given immortality by the world with movies, books and tv series made about them.
Sunlight killing vampires is the invention of hollywood, folklore vampires simply had nap time when the sun rose and awoke as soon at it set. Though technically speaking, sunlight can kill most things if exposed too much to it, of course only idiots sun bathe to the point of skin cancer.
I recall a medical study that concluded that the curing of cancer could lead to the development of physical immortality.
Funny how cancer is never cured even though they have been studying it for over 50 years. Then again, no disease is ever cured. The drug companies love to TREAT disease because by simply treating and never curing disease is guaranteed money in their pockets. Until healthcare becomes non profit, we will never see diseases cured.
I think when they made me they dipped me in extra layers of "Forget your past". When I used to hear quiet, now I never hear quiet but squeals, and layers of potential yet
in audible sounds!
Someone could be screaming in my ear and I don't see,
anything ever, may feel hair standing on end and the inaudible sounds. But cannot communicate with nothing
unseen! Eventually I give up and make zero progress.
But I cant help to wonder!
I do not think that one could honestly mentally stand the cost of immortality. One can only take so much heart ache.
I agree Human beings could not stand the cost of immortality.
Watching everything die around them over and over and over again.
It seems like it would make one insane.
The dark soul of the vampire is immortal. The mortal body dies only to have the dark soul reborn again. Sometime in that next life, that dark soul awakens to its true self. The Vampire. Some dark souls are ancient. They remember their past lives. Along with other souls that have the same memories from times together. I have friends who remember me as I remember them in past lives.
True, however that doesn't mean that your soul has to be vampiric to be immortal or reborn. You can also have Angelic traits of soul and still remember, like the fallen ones for example which also have vampiric traits as well, can remember almost every lifetime they have had. Not everyone remembers the same, but the soul continues. For some, recollection of the past isn't easy. For some, we burn it from our memories and start over again.
To be Immortal sounds like a punishment to me. I don't want to outlive everyone I love and go through the pain of loss over and over again.
Sometimes I wonder how strong one must be to pay such a price how much one must take into account before they become broken and how can it end questions that should be considered because eventually you'll get the chance to know what it's like to have no purpose with no end to a explanation even forget how to live how long must one live so alone in the dark without anyone by their side reality is their is no easy answers for any
I have been searching the true meaning of immortality all my life, but I have been giving up searching on it. I wish I could be immortal, but we will never know until the truth is revealed. I keep doubting about life after death, because I will not until I experience for myself.
I can honestly say that surviving death is more brutal be glad to not know what it's like I wish that upon no one
someone mentioned angelic . I don't believe in it . I believe in angels . but they are created beings not human . and no human can ever be one . they have no will of there own unless they choose so and then they are cast out . angels are not dead or alive so that alone would want me not to be one . to live is grand to die we all must but there is a 2nd death and life . the after life . what it will be like I can only wonder . what side I will go too . I can only hope and pray . I have things holding me to this world for now but I know when I die thos ties to will brake . I am even just a little not believeing in a immortal soul for God has one but does anyone else have one . or are we different . could it be we are born with a mortal soul and as we believe in God our soul is reborn to immortality.
Littleflames, YES they can be human.
If you read the old ancient texts, they came down to the Earth and mated with humans. If you want to base your BELIEF on something when it comes to angelics, you first have to realize that they were written about being on Earth since the beginning. They were materialized enough to mate with human women so i don't get where you get YOUR information to say what angels can or cannot do. Just saying...
well this is in the bible . Angels came form God and he is there maker .i could even go as to say that a word spoken is immortal for once spoken can not be taken back, most of the time unless its taken back by the person that spoke it . there for if someone says something and then dies short after thos words are only dead to the person who spoke them but to all who heard the words that were spoken they are immortal . when john wrote in the beginning was the word , and the word was with God and the Word was God . this is truth of the bible that word became flesh and then that flesh died for all . but do you think he had to die or he wanted to for he came back to life and still lives to this day in another place. and there for even His words are immortal . not all words spoken are turth but the truth will always out shine the lies and bring the truth to light . for what can one see in darkness with out the help of some kind of aide . but all can see in the light who are not blinded by all the lies .
And it was told in the book of Enoch about angels as well you should consider reading this text book it is before the bible and before religion made the bible the bible is nothing more than a belief system of whatever they want you to know not to mention it is only a small section of the real bible that is located in Italy please keep in mind that it's not the only information out there too but yes I have to agree with you that angels are immoral but also can become human it is said that they can choose to be mortal but under certain circumstances different from what we have to live by and nothing that they do are considered for their own glory but for the creator
I may know a few "humans" like you describe that may be angels . If one believes that vampires are here eternally (or until some point in the future to come) then would it not follow that god would want some sort of balance to keep the earth from being completely influenced by the cursed souls that repeatedly relive lives here on earth taking the place of a new or innocent other souls? To me you can not have angels with out demons, you can not have demons with out vampires, and you can not have vampires without angels. This is not a comprehensive forum post of all that I believe by any means
Every living thing that exists outside the space time continuum is immortal. Every living thing inside it, will die.
Does that mean that a being, that steps inside, from out side the space time continuum will die? No. Because their true existence is outside of space time. Space and time have no hold on them.
That is, they are beyond our understanding of existence.
Everything that you think about that may not be possible is understand that just because one may not does not mean it can't be understood by another earth is a home for all living things that co exist in today's society scientists are on the discovery of these things many of them still believe that the Rosetta Stone is the best alchemist finding to immortality however it is not the only creation that exists space is never ending this much is true the only thing that separates anything once you see it all is time itself yet keep in mind that the vast knowledge that still is undiscovered and never understood too that is also the best immortality idea existing as well just think that you can look at something in more details that one person can possibly make on their own so instead of just black and white or trying to figure out what something is in the dark with dust in your eyes try to see everything in every single angel you can think about that is when you will have your best answer to anything ( this is my short version of explaining. )
book of Enoch it is not a proven text you can not prove one thing in it is true . how ever almost 99 % of the bible has been excepted world wide as truth and facts . sd history not as religion . there are books of the bible that could not be put into english language for we do not know what they mean and are that old . like some of the dead sea scrols i believe that even our best scalors of day do not know what they mean if you put them into the english language . or they might even lose meaning if you try to do so . for some things just do not mean the same . that is why as english we have to go to the greek when it comes to this . for the bible is one of the most oldest books written in almost every were on earth . that is what makes the bible immortal itself for it will be here even after the written words are gone for i feel it will still spread far and wide even into the space age even if we leave earth .
well i do know that there are a lot of things out there that are immortal but one can live on it two forms . human . and soul . so will even go to argue that the soul of a human is mortal . and does not live on that it can only live on with the love of God . but i do not know witch is right here but i am sure will not get the answer online . i might not get it till after i die . this is why i would like to stay true to my self the way i was rased and the wrong way to most is most of the time the right way . for few know the answers to things this life holds and thos that do hold a little but not all power over some things . this is a little why i can say am happy i do not know yet i do know i would put my soul in the hand of God before myself or another human . for the one who made me knows more about me than i do . so if i am imortal and He does not want us to know or to come to that answer when we are alive i am good with it . just like i do believe that thos that think they have the right to clone a human are playing with fire. and some times when you do this , well most of the time you get burned . this is why i am happy with my little flame and i will always show it and never let it go out . and my hope is that my little flame is imortal and will go far after i die . and that makes it imortal .
Death is like a reset button. A chance to try again. The odd part is when those rare extraordinary things happen, like meeting someone like a true love from a past life. It lends a belief in the immortality of the soul.
Ive heard of hideous people coming back as bugs.
Good people come back in a higher sense.
If you are middle of the road I guess you get reborn into the same family like groundhogs day. If something gets altered in could be like "back to the future"?
To be immortal could be quite interesting, imagine all the wisdom you could impart on someone
If you feel like you're bored now; imagine how you'll feel in 1000 years.
well i dont know about being imortal on earth but if i lived to be 200 then i would get to see all the new IT TEC and gadgets . and see if we go underground or out into outerspace .
I believe the soul is immortal.
Physically wise, it would be a wonderful thing to achieve. Not sure how to achieve but I'm sure one day man will figure it out.
I'd love to walk the Earth or wherever humans would be living in 400 years.
some times its just in the way we look at things . and not at all act on them . if one was to try and live on forever and fail . its not their falt we are not made for that but if someone finds a way to change the dna of a human then maybe we can do it and maybe we just do not want to do that .
I believe immortality is fame. People remembering your name. That's what most dream of.
I also believe the soul is immortal. I feel like we can achieve immortality by making an impact and a difference in the world. :)
i strongly believe in reincarnation. The soul can live on within other forms long after the body has died. Our human body is just but a mere shell in which to house the soul.
I also think that what ever karma we get or give in this life will carry over into the next
It is true that physical immortality has not yet been realized by the scientific community but there are some interesting tidbits floating around in various fields of study that let us know that imortality in general may not be as impossible as we have been taught to believe.
1 Nothing ceases to exist but merely changes form.
2 Lowest order of Angels in Jewish lore is the Ishim. Ishim are angels who were once humans, like the angel Sandalphon.
3 Once a persons chi/enzymes are depleted they die.
4 Some of the oldest lived individuals recorded (that are not from the bible) were devoted practitioners of Taoist methodologies. Most in their 200 and 300s.
We know scientifically that the better ones environment and lifeforbidden, the longer one is likely to live and that when we die we do not cease to exist but merely change form.
We know religiously/spiritually that leading a healthy and highly spiritual lifeforbidden gives one a greater proficiency in energy work and further developes the soul/spirit and that when we die we have choices based on our developement, such as: reincarnating, becoming an Ishim or an Ascended Master or an Undead God.
So it would seem to me that the best method for achieving immortality would be to lead a healthy and happy lifeforbidden, become proficient in energywork, and fulfill any spiritual requirements necessary to achieve personal afterdeath preferences--if and when physical death should occur.
If we continue to lead longevity/immortal based lives eventually it will become genetic memory across the species and it will become easier to achieve with each successive generation.
There is so much information out there on the subject of longevity and immortality, all you have to do is look and you'll find it. The data I have given here is clearly just a miniscule part of the tip of the mountain.
well i think our bodies gets injured and our cells starts decaying and in the end we collapse .
you can replace your body parts by metal but then you will lose the sensations you get as a human , you will lose sexual pleasures metallic bodies can't do sex and sex gives relief from stress and it is very important in life.
