An Arrakis Officer’s jumpsuit and hat from the David Lynch Sci-fi fantasy Dune (1984). Based on the book by Frank Herbert the film stars Kyle MacLachlan as the protagonist Paul Atreides. This suit was one of many made for the production and can be seen worn by the Officers in charge of the guards on the desert planet Arrakis at various points throughout the film including when the planet is attacked by the House of Harkonnen.
The jumpsuit is made from dark sand coloured cotton, there are two large zip up pockets on the chest. The epaulettes are fastened to the shoulder and feature a black, green and red decorative eagle design, with a similar square detailed patches on the collar. Each leg features ties that go halfway up for more room to be created if needed. From the waist upwards it is fastened with black poppers and there is also a belt. No sizes are given for the outfit.
The cap is made from the same material as the jumpsuit and features an oval black and green flag design patch which has a red and green border. It has a wide rimmed top and leather strap across the front. Many of these outfits have unfortunately been destroyed making this quite a rare collector's piece. This outfit has some slight markings and distress due to use and age however is in excellent production used condition.
This item comes with a Prop Store Certificate of Authenticity.
