"Wild, dark times are rumbling toward us, and the prophet who wishes to write a new apocalypse will have to invent entirely new beasts, and beasts so terrible that the ancient animal symbols of Saint John will seem like cooing doves and cupids in comp." - Heinrich Heine
Hello, I'm Mr. D and I hope this will afford you more of an opportunity to learn something about myself. On the Rave I am currently a Dominar and proud Master of Les Enfants de Mon Dieu, the first and only Rave society dedicated exclusively to the study and support of the Left Hand Path.
I'm an easy person to get along with in general and a good friend to have around on my better days or on your worst. I like to read, write, dance, and make believe that I know what's going on in the world. I hold strong convictions that inform my world view and, provided the moment is ripe, am not inclined to be sheepish when it comes to sharing them. I am religious, albeit, probably not in the way you might be use to. I'll not go into detail as I rarely discuss it, even when asked, but since it is a part of whom I am I thought I should mention it for those of you without the stomach for something a little unorthodox. If you're a clever cookie, chances are you already know the details anyway, but no worries, I'm no zealot. So long as you can tolerate my opinions I'll do my best to tolerate and accept yours.
Nights are when I am most active so my social life is almost entirely centered around that. I work a lot of hours where I can but I do my best to keep up with people and things so long as they can keep up with me. I've been accused of being an oddball more than once, but the way I see it, everyone has their peculiarities. I'm sure you'll agree.
I love going to art galleries, museums, plays, and out to the clubs, but can't say that I've ever been too much into live music. It should go without saying that I'm not the type to get all fired up about the local music scene, but I won't shun you if you happen to be like that. I adore having the opportunity to learn about the perspectives of others, within reason, and hope to gain new insights for myself with each encounter. In fact, I am always eager to be proven wrong, as it helps to soften the ideological walls that the years cement and gives me that extra ounce of hope I need to feel the magic of possibility in the air again. Mind you, this is not a license to attempt an argument with me about your favorite pet theories on living. A good natured debate is usually welcomed, provided I'm in the mood, but I will not be drawn into a pissing match.
“Out of damp and gloomy days, out of solitude, out of loveless words directed at us, conclusions grow up in us like fungus: one morning they are there, we know not how, and they gaze upon us, morose and gray. Woe to the thinker who is not the gardener but only the soil of the plants that grow in him.” - Friedrich Nietzsche
I love to travel when I can and visit new friends along the way, and though I haven't been able to do much about that lately, you can be sure that I'm always working on changing that. I would very much like to visit Europe one day, so if I am able to make some friends that would be willing to put up with me for a couple days and show me the sights, all the merrier.
I detest extreme temperatures at either end of the spectrum and for this reason, and a few others, Spring and Fall tend to be my favorite seasons.

I am very socially liberal but semi-conservative to the extent that I'm a bit old fashioned in how I employ and believe in the value of proper etiquette. I'm not a prude by any means, but I do have standards I like to keep, so I usually get along best with people that can at least tolerate my need for that sort of thing. I tend to ramble sometimes in conversation, but thankfully I seem to be able to keep people entertained for the most part. That's not to say that I can't be a little much for some folks, but I have no intention of apologizing for speaking my mind, censorship, after all, is so un-American - ideally, at least.
I would like to meet those with the genuine urge to live, learn, and do something with their lives. People with common interests are encouraged to contact me and see what happens. I prize individuality above all and scorn naysayers that believe such a quality is unattainable; such negativity is not welcome here and will be met with silence. Artists of all kinds are my kin, and whatever your craft is, be it of words, sound, brush strokes, or flesh, you'll find a willing eye so long as our tastes mesh.
I'd like to meet people from all across the globe though I tend to prefer those from the United States, Canada, or Europe for the sake of convenience. Those living in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and New York are especially encouraged to say hello. In keeping with my desire to attract vital persons it is worth noting that I am mostly a real-time kind of man, so it follows that while I do not at all object to primarily online correspondences, you can expect that my interest will be limited unless I suspect that we might one day meet face to face. This is not something I'll push, but I am in this for the prospect of true social dynamics and have little curiosity about those whom choose to exist solely as virtual entities. Forewarned is forearmed, as they say.
The qualities I look for in potential friends are almost standard. I prefer those who are actively living their dreams and are willing to walk over hot coal to continue doing so. On the other hand, if you are content with where you are at now and believe you have reached your peak, then you should pass on by. I want people that are never complete in their deeds and always aspire to exceed their placement on the ladder. Think of it in terms of a meal we share and prepare together; I have no desire to dine on an undercooked roast and neither should you. I want in my friends the virtues of honesty and directness, as I can abide a liar no more than I can a coward. I don't have the time to play head games, so if you'll grant me the consideration I ask for in this, you can expect it in kind. Gender is of no concern to me in these matters, as I hope it will not be to you. I prefer that only adults contact me for various reasons, and while I respect the fact the neither maturity nor wisdom are necessarily imparted with age, I will not agree to in-person meetings with those under the age of 18.
In all else, past the mundane visitors, I look toward the horizon to find those that can hear the same music that I cherish so dearly in the night breeze, moving in desperate concert with the beating heart of the earth, inspiring a hunger unknown to most, so that the ones that know - those Of The Blood - might raise a brow and tip their hats in warm regard. Should such an ally see this note, just know that I am here - a living ghost just like you. For what it is worth, I welcome you here, that's what Family is for, after all.
