“Nothing reminds us of an awakening more than rain.” ~Dejan Stojanovic
One of the things I love to do when I am feeling as if it is metaphorically raining nonstop in my life, is to look back on some of the amazing times in my life. As I was reminiscing, I remembered a time in college where it had been raining for two weeks straight. My roommate and I slogged our way to campus and back each day, always getting soaked no matter how hard we tried to stay dry. One afternoon, as we were headed back to our apartment, we stopped on a nearby corner to allow the light to change. As the light changes and we began to cross, a car rounded the corner spraying water and mud all over us. To say our mood was foul would be an understatement. As we arrived on the grounds of the apartment, I began to laugh and lowered my umbrella. Jen, who had already decided I was crazy just looked at me with one eyebrow raised. I ran and jumped in the biggest mud puddle I could find laughing and crying at the same time. Slowly, Jen joined me and we played in the rain and mud for about 30 minutes before going inside, toweling off and making two nice mugs of hot chocolate.
You see this one moment of looking at life from a different perspective changed everything. It was cathartic, invigorating and a much-needed release. I wonder how different our lives would be if we chose joy in everything.
May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being, may you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life.
Welcome to my little corner of VR. I have a few profiles here, but you may know me best as Theodora.
I had to apply some security updates. I needed to take the site down for a few hours to complete everything. I did it in the middle of the night.. When hopefully, most of you wouldn't notice :)
