The new Message System is working quite well from a processing standpoint. It's performing in a far superior fashion when compared to the old system.
As a result, I will not be implementing the Message Center restrictions I outlined in site News articles last week - at least not for the time being. |

Regarding my last News article... I will be delaying the implementation of the new Message Center rules.
I am going to be writing a new function that will allow a member to easily email messages to themselves. This new feature will be available to all members.
After that is in place, I will give members some time to organize their boxes, and then I will implement the new Message Center rules. |
New policies are going into effect regarding VR messages:
Messages that have been read and which are in your inbox are deleted after 14 days.
Messages that have not been read and which are in your inbox are deleted after 30 days.
Non-Premium members can have no more than 25 messages in their Saved box.
Premium members can save unlimited messages.
It just seems to be too much of a bother for some members to keep a clean inbox. Having hundreds of messages in one's inbox in not acceptable.
These changes will go into effect on December 10th. You'll need to perform any critical message reorganization before then (IE, clean saved messages out that really aren't important or the system will pick based on message age). |
There is a new contest in play. The prize is a Vampire Rave Lifetime Membership.
The first member to receive 1000 Referral points and max out their referral bonus will be awarded the prize. If you win and already have a Lifetime Membership you may gift your prize to another Vampire Rave member.
This will be a long-ranging contest. It will take some time for a member to receive 1000 referral points. There is a new category on The Top page, Most Referral Points. There you can track your position among other Vampire Rave members. |
A modification has been made to Vampire Rave's Status System. Members will now receive a bonus based on who they have referred to Vampire Rave.

New Premium feature added: Vamp Box Window. Premium Members can now launch Vamp Box in a mini chat window that auto-refreshes.

New Premium feature added: File Storage. Premium Members can now upload and store up to 5 megabytes of data. Data can be linked in Vampire Rave profiles, journal entries, or forum posts.
