Administrators - Who They Are & What They Do
Okay, Here is to help you learn about the administrators and their duties so that you know who can help you with various problems you may have in VR..This list can also be found in the left Main Menu under User Levels.
Secondly, you need to understand that ALL VR ADMINS ARE VOLUNTEERS. They are not paid for it, and they will not put up with rudeness, they don't have to.
Acolyte - Not really administrators - but in training. They answer the VR Help Section - questions pertaining to the VR Manual, Terms Of Service, and FAQs. They answer them when you don't know where to look to find the answers pertaining to these 3 areas. You shouldn't send questions like "I want to meet a real vampire." or "How old would I be if I were born 20,000 years ago?" True question - I was asked that a few days ago. There are currently 21 Acolytes. They can NOT see suspended profiles, portfolios or journals, so do not message the help section asking them to lift suspensions, because they do not have the ability. Look at the Sentorans and message them to lift it. They are there to help you.
Dominars - There are currently 11. At this time the current Dominars are mtsoul77, CuRsEdToDaRkNeSs, deathnitegrl, MrD, MooniePie, Bones, Prophecy, Nightgame, LadyKrystalynDarkstar, Kashka, and immortalxkiss. They administor to the Vampire Rave main forums and the Vampbox. They can suspend you from the forums and vampbox for inappropraite behavior.
Procurators - At present there are 8. They are PandorasBx, Jens, Abstract, Maledicta, BleedingMassacre, lordxofxwar, Artemka and TaintedPoison. Procurators are pretty much the Librarians on VR nothing more. They add to the database. They can either approve or deny your submissions to the database - If it is already in there, then your submission will be denied. If it is not already there, they will approve and add it.
Sentorans - There are 10 currently at this level. Radu, VampireWitch39, lostinpa, MiaakodaWolf, TaintedPoison, KCRC, Ark, CherryBlossom, Silverbow, BloodMother, and MysticMoon. They are the profile, portfolio and journal police. They can suspend al 3 mentioned, and it can not be seen by the public. Only Consuls, Master Vampires, Sentorans, and Regents can view after they are suspended.
Consuls - There are 8 at this time. Joli, DarknessBound, ToiletDuc, Crazywolf, Deity, Jason, ElderDaniel, and Moreish. Former VR admins have power of dominar, procurator sentorans and acolytes. Not full administrators anymore.
Master Vampires - There are 7. There will never be more than 7. They run one of the 7 Houses in VR. There will never be more than 7 Houses. They are currently: Daire, Sabastion, meeper, sahahria, BillyTheJust, Morrigon, and Nicnivian. They are full blown administrators with ALL the powers in Vampire Rave. They can suspend you to infinity, as well. Can not be blocked.
Regents - Currently there are 2. imagesinwords and Sevenn. They are former Master Vampires, but no longer run a House. They help the prince administor to all aspects of VR and the Covens and Houses. They are also full administrators. Can not be blocked.
The Prince - Owner of Vampire Rave, administrator. THE BE ALL AND END ALL OF VR - The Maharaja of Doom - meaning what he says, goes. His word is final in all things. Message him for stupid things, especially when you don't bother to read the VR Manual, TOS, or FAQs and you will find yourself in his journal under message gems being made to look like a fool and laughed at. Or worse could find yourself banned from VR with your IP Addy blocked. Can not be blocked.
COVENS
So you have finally hit level 20 and are ready to join a Society...Well, here are things you should do.
Before you reach level 20, you should have already checked out the societies. They are located in the left Main Menu under Societies. Check out the Main Page, Welcome Pages, Rules, Inductions, ANYTHING that will help you determine if the society is the right one for you. Don't settle on the first one you come across, take the time look through ALL of them - both Houses and Covens. You have plenty of time before you hit level 20 to check them out.
Next, once you have determined where you wish to go, message the Master, the Assistants, or the Trade Master of they have one. Talk to them and tell them you wish to join their little corner of Vampire Rave. Get to know them. Add them to your friends list.
When you are close to leveling up to 20, then you should send them a message telling them you are about to hit level 20 so they can be watching to induct you. Why? Because of a little thing called FORCED INDUCTIONS. It is a part of Vampire Rave, and while a few societies reject this practice, most do not. My own coven, The Coven Of Dracula's Heart Of Darkness practices forced inductions.
What should I do if I am inducted into a coven I do not wish to be a part of?
You should message the master or the assistants - POLITELY, asking them to trade you to the society that you wish to go to. This could take anywhere to a few minutes or a few days, not all masters are on at the same time.
Do not get mad, curse the Master or the Assistants. Most are quite willing to send you where you wish to go, if you are nice. And most are quite helpful. Do not self delete if you find yourself in a society you don't want to be in either. Most masters will be watching for you to hit level 20 again and will induct you for being rude.
What do I do? Well remember one thing. Coven Masters and their assistants can blind you in the coven, they can make you stay until you reach sire with no hope of being traded out (the coven of Hell and Purgatory are like this) where the only way out is to reach sire. Becoming a sire means you can leave a society at any time and can start your own society. They are also called Immortals. Their ratings can either elevate or crush your ratings.
However a House Master is different. While they have the same powers as the Coven masters - they have more power. Coven masters run Covens. House Masters run Houses and are full Vampire Rave administrators called Master Vampires. They have the power to suspend you from anywhere to a few days or to INFINITY.
Now that you have entered into a society, here is what to expect:
Masters look for good members. They look for those who not only level up, but spend a good amount of time on Vampire Rave, which earns favor for the Society (Will go into what favors are later on this page). They look for members who will participate in the society as well. Meaning will they post in the forums, be in the contests, will they hold positions in the future in the coven (Will also go into that as well). Will they contribute to the society by writing articles and news and pages in the society. Will they be helpful to other members in the society.
Positions within a coven
*House Master - Chosen ONLY by Cancer.
*Coven Master - Only Sires can start their own society. Has all coven powers, can mark and disband the society.
*Assistant Coven/House Master - chosen by the Society Master, all Coven powers. The only excluded power is marking. If this is checked all other checked administrative settings are ignored. They also can not disband a society.
*Trade Master - Can initiate and accept trade offers from other Houses or Covens.
*Level Master - Can alter the level of Coven members.
*Forum Master - Can Open/Close/Edit/Delete Forum messages.
*Message Master - Can send Coven messages.
*News Master - Can Add/Delete News articles.
*Details Master - Can access the File Storage and Setup page, and alter society pages, make new society pages.
*Regular Member - Standard and default membership. Can view all special Coven pages but cannot administrate. If this is checked, any checked administrative settings are ignored.
*Blind Members - Cannot view any special Coven pages such as Forum or News. Will not receive Coven messages. This setting will override all other settings.
Favor
All Favor won by a member belongs to the House or Coven Master. It is up to the Master how Favor will be used. This includes Sire's who have chosen to join a House or Coven versus starting their own Coven. It can be considered currency, and is often used to facilitate trades between a House or Coven. Favor is no longer awarded for playing games. Favor is earned by spending time on Vampire Rave and reading its pages; the longer you spend actively logged onto VR, the more favor you will accumulate. There are significant safeguards built in to the site's programming to prevent cheats unfairly gaining favor or standing. Favor used to be earned through playing games. Because of cheating, the favor system has been reworked. One of the ways Favor is earned is through being logged into VR.
•25 page views equals 1 Favor. 1 page view equals 1/25 Favor.
•15 minutes of time spent equals 1 Favor. 1 second of time spent equals 1/900 Favor.
RATING
There is no such thing as down-rating. Cancer set up the rating system to use the numbers 1 - 10, therefore, 1 IS a valid rating. I myself, do not condone rating automatic 10's. I value rating on the content of the profile and how well it is set up, the spelling and grammar and use of punctuation, use of scrollboxes, etc. If it has a background on it, no matter if it is a free member background or premium. Being a premium doesn't mean you have to give an automatic 10 either. If it has no more than 2 to 4 sentences and a bunch of pictures, then they don't get a high rating from me. You also shouldn't get your knickers in a twist if you are not rated 10's either.
RANKING
Ranking is simply, what your level is. The more you gain levels, the more “points” there are for the House. So, all we ask is you do your best to do that. Don’t forget about Rating polls, the member articles, the vampire database and of course, profiles and portfolios. Posting in the Main VR forums help also, find a thread or start one of your own that will get people to come in and have fun. Like a bar, graveyard thread or start a story thread….all are very popular and helps you get forum posts. These coupled with your time spent and pages viewed, helps your status.
HONOR SYSTEM
Vampire Rave Honor is a rating system. More than just a rating of a member's profile or portfolio, Honor encompasses the entire member. It is the rating for a member as a whole.
HOW IS HONOR DIFFERENT FROM OTHER VAMPIRE RAVE RATINGS?
The current Vampire Rave profile/portfolio/etc rating system is flawed. Premium Members can see ratings others make in regard to them. As a result, the ratings left are oftentimes not honest. Some Premium Members go so far as to bully other members into raising their ratings. To counteract this effect, when you give a member Honor, it can be either visible or invisible. If invisible, the affected member will not see who did it.
Additionally, you can only rate a member's profile/portfolio/etc once. With Honor, you can give or take it multiple times, greatly affecting their overall Honor score.
I CAN TAKE A MEMBER'S HONOR OVER AND OVER AGAIN? GREAT! I'LL JUST KEEP CLICKING THAT BUTTON ALL DAY...
You can give/take Honor 5 times per day. How you choose to use this power is up to you.
IS WHAT I DO REALLY INVISIBLE?
If you leave someone Honor and make it invisible, the member you left it for will never see who did it. It's a done deal. Additionally, you can never change or alter what you've done. You can give/take more Honor in the future, but you cannot change what you've left in the past.
CAN I GIVE HONOR TO MYSELF?
No.
WHAT IS THIS "DUPLICATE ACCOUNT" ERROR
Not only can you not give/take Honor from yourself, you cannot give/take Honor for any account you've logged into. This means your duplicate accounts, accounts under the same household, and accounts you shouldn't be logging into anyway, as it's a violation of Vampire Rave policy.
DOES HONOR AFFECT MY STATUS?
No. However, when you give or take Honor, the effect or power does vary in regard to your status.
You can give a member +1 or -1. The power of your actions is 10% of your status, rounded down. For example, if you're level 59, the Honor you can actually give/take is +5 or -5.
One day the Prince may decide to factor Honor into your Status score. For now it's excluded.
You cannot start giving/taking honor until you reach level 5. However, if you're below level 5 other members can still affect your Honor.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I BLOCK A MEMBER?
A member can still give or take Honor from you if you have them blocked. However, if blocked, they will be unable to leave a comment. Visible/Invisible is unaffected.
WHO CAN SEE ALL THE HONOR I'VE RECEIVED?
Everyone, without exception. You cannot turn it off.
PROFILE/PORTOLIO SUSPENSION
YOUR PROFILE/PORTFOLIO CAN BE SUSPENDED IF YOUHAVE ANYOFTHEFOLLOWING IN THEM. THE ADMINISTRATORS REGUARLY CHECK EVERYONES PROFILE ADNPORTFOLIO'S.
DONT HAVE THE FOLLOWING THINGS IN YOUR PORTFOLIOS/PROFILES
ANY NUDE/NAKED PICTURES OR ANY KIND
ANY NASTY COMMENTS TO DO WITH RACE/RELIGION ETC
NOTHING ADVERTIING ILLEGAL ACTIVITIY
PORNOGRAPHY OF ANY KIND.
IF IN DOUBT DONT POST IT.
REMEMBERTHATYOUARE 100 PERCENT FOR EVERYTHING IN YOUR PROFILE /PORTFOLIO/JOURNAL.
DONT EVER GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE EVER AS THEY COULD DELETE YOUR PROFILE OR IF THEY POST ANY OF THE ABOVE ITEMS. AS ITS YOUR ACOUNT IT WILL BE YOU WHO GETS THE BLAME. ALSO FOR REPEATED OFFENCES SUCH AS DISPLAYING THE ABOVE YOU COULD FIND YOUR PROFILE ZAPPED WHICH MEANS PERMANTLY DELETED BY ADMINSTRATION.
IF YOU FIND YOUR PROFILE/PORTFOLO SUSPENDED THERE WILL BE A MESSAGE SAYING WHY AND WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO GET IT UNSUSPENDED. SO FOLLOW WHAT THE MESSAGE TELLS YOU AND THEN MESSAGE THE PERSON WHO SUSPENDED YOUR ACCOUNT SO THEY CAN CHECK THAT YOU HAVE DONE AS THEY HAVE ASKED AND THEN THEY WILL UN SUSPEND IT FOR YOU. HOWEVER IF YOU DONT FIND A MESSAGE TELLING YOU WHY THEN MESSAGE AN ACOLYTE FOR HELP.

Vampire Rave is administrated in a common sense manner. We will not be beholden to an all-inclusive list of acceptable behavior. If you are engaging in any activity that is considered to be unacceptable by a Vampire Rave administrator, you may be suspended or deleted
Portfolio Rules:
Portfolios are personal pictures, artistry the person created and pictures the person has taken. If they can’t verify that they have the copyright to the pictures they have on it, it is considered illegal by VR standards. Here are the Portfolio rules.
•No copyrighted work unless you own the copyright.
•You may post pictures where you are the model or where you are the photographer.
•Currently there is no limit to the number of pictures you can upload. Please do not abuse this or a limit will be imposed.
Nudity policy:
What is allowed:
- Side nude shots.
- Female breasts shots that do not include the nipple.
- Butt shots that do not include the anus or genitals.
What is NOT allowed:
- Pictures of genitals.
- Pictures of sex acts.

PROFILE BACKUPS
Here is what you can do to protect your profile so that if it gets accidently deleted you dont have to go into meltdown mode. this is what you should do each time you update your profile so that it can be instantly restored should it crash get deleted accidently.
first go to your profile then CLICK EDIT PROFILE you will then come to the box where your profile pictures etc are and what you then do is go to the bottom of that box then you then YOU LEFT CLICK THEN HIT CTRL A and then you should see your profile all highlighted then you RIGHT CLICK AND YOU SHOULD SEE A FEW OPTIONS. GHOOSE COPY. THEN GO TO THE NOTE PAD program then LEFT CLICK then when you see the OPTIONS come up click PASTE then you should see a whole heap of code and then you SAVE IT.
when you need to RESTORE your PROFILE then you go to EDIT PROFILE and in that big box after having opened WORD PAD to your SAVED PROFILE then HIGHLIGHT ALL THE CODE BY LEFT CLICKING THEN HIT COPY AND THEN go to your profile box then lLEFT CLICK and hit PASTE then go submit your password to update then click on VIEW andyour profile should have been RESTORED .
if anyone needs any further help with this please feel free to come ask me anytime. i hope this helps as one time i accidently deleted my profile and luckily one of my coven buddies told me tthat when i had remade my profile to do just that and it has saved me from a major meltdown when it crashed. i was able to restore straight away. so i now do this trick each time i update as a backup.
also as explained in the RULES section of our forum i cannot WARN you enough. NEVER NEVER EVER GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE HERE AS THEY COULD DELETE YOUR ENTIRE PROFILE WHICH MEANS IT WONT BE ABLE TO BE RESTORED AT ALL OR POST OFFENSIVE IMAGES AND THEN YOU GET INTO TROUBLE BECAUSE YOU ARE ENTIRELY RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT IS IN YOUR PORTFOLIO AND PROFILE.
NAME CHANGE TO YOUR PROFILE
Several things cannot be transferred to a new VR member name:
ALL of your messages will be deleted.
Favorite Journal data will not be transferred.
Profile pictures will not be transferred, they will be deleted.
Your Portfolio will not be transferred, it will be deleted.
The ratings YOU have received are NOT transferred.
Files in your File Storage area will be deleted.
If you have a custom message notification sound set it will be deleted.
