Tonight is my last night of work before a three day weekend. Three days of relaxation and booze. And of course three days with my beloved pets and boyfriend. My pets are my life, my everything! I still can't believe in less than three months my sweet baby ferret, Blue, will be a year old. Oh, how times fly. I'm a happy ferret mommy. And three days after Blue's birthday is my rat, Charlie's, gotcha day. Of course, they will both get treats and new toys on their special days. I love my sweet girls.
Starting next month I'm gonna happen to buy stuff for everyone. Bear's birthday is the first thing coming up in December, then our anniversary is on Christmas Eve, then Christmas and, of course, the pets' special days. So much money to spend, especially on Bear. Three days of gifts one after another.
My Jack Skellington knee high socks came in today. I woke up and saw an email from Hot Topic saying another packaged was delivered and saw it was my socks. They had some details I didn't notice in the pictures. The top of the socks each have a little bat sewn on and the bottoms say Master of Frights. I absolutely love how they look. I'm still waiting on the lipsticks but they should be coming soon...maybe... That's the thing. I don't know when they're coming. The person who sells them uses the Shop app for tracking and that thing won't update until it's already coming to your place. It's like I wanna know when I should expect my order, that way if it's late I can kindly ask whoever I bought from what happened. I mean, the lipsticks with taxes and shipping fees would have costed me over $30 since the lipsticks are $14 a pop. I did save some though since she has a 10% off sale going on since she's closing shop, but it was still more then I would have liked to spend on lipstick. I just hope it's worth the money. Especially since the black is supposed to be super pigmented and both are supposed to be smudge proof, transfer proof and water proof. Hm...maybe I can review it for TikTok... It would help with my anxiety over recording myself and I have wanted to post on TikTok, I just didn't know what. Maybe I can review and rate small businesses for TikTok. Yeah, maybe I can do that!
I finally got two of my packages today. My Nightmare Before Christmas phone case tracker updated this morning saying it was on it's way and would be arriving. It did, as well as, 3/4 of the pairs of socks I ordered off of my Hot Topic app. I got the Skelanimals bat red and black striped knee socks, the Kuromi pastel purple and pink striped over knee socks and the black moon and cherry blossoms knee socks. I'm still waiting on the Jack Skellington knee socks, they should be here either Friday or Saturday. I also bought two liquid matte lipsticks off an online shop I found on TikTok that's closing. I got the black one and the dark red. From what I've seen in the photos on their site and the videos they post on TikTok, their lipsticks are super pigmented so the black comes out looking really good with just one swipe. I can't wait for those to come in.
Now, I need to rant a teeny bit. Bear got sick, again, and went home during first break last night. Since my boss is on vacation that means I have to take the bus and train to and from work (good thing I have a bus pass loaded with money). I got off work a few minutes early last night and walked to the bus stop. The street where I normally wait for my bus was being worked on a bit so I walked a little bit to a different bus stop. I had phone out with brightness up to the max, reading Reddit. When bus came up (mind you it had the bus number so it didn't say it was going to the garage) I shown my phone screen towards the driver and they zoomed right past me. I just thought, "damn, dude must be distracted or something..." I waited for another bus to come and shown my phone screen at the driver. AGAIN, they zoomed right past me. I wasn't gonna wait in the same spot for another bus, so I just started walking towards the train station. After walking for a while, there was a couple people waiting at a bus stop. I was gonna keep walking but I heard a bus stop and hopped on, tapping my bus pass on the reader. I didn't say anything to the bus driver because I didn't want to sound rude to someone who most likely has been up for only an hour or two. But it was stupid. Ignored by TWO bus drivers. I'm gonna see if I can lodge complaint with the transit authority. Would that make me a karen if I did? I hope not.
I hated having to go in for work last night. Would have just liked to stay in bed, wrapped up in my blanket, watching the Dahmer Tapes limited series or playing video games with Bear. I'm not a HUGE gamer like Bear, I just play whenever I feel like and not for very long. Mostly I just watch TV with Bear or watch TikTok on my phone.
Going in last night did make me realize something. When my boss is working we get out at 7am (which is the latest), when the other manager who takes over for my boss when she's not working/on vacation is working we usually get out on time (530am). Whenever we get back from last break (starts at 345 and I like to come back at 405), my boss always has stocking until like 515 then have us take carts and garbage back and have like 1 or 2 people throwing away the cardboard/garbage. Which doing all that and checking the aisles to make sure everything was taken back can take a bit of time. The manager that takes over for her has people stock after last break and as people finish up he'll have them do other things in order for us to get out on time (upstock, taking carts and garbage back, throwing away cardboard/garbage, etc.). My boss wants to get mad because so many people are getting overtime and she has a limit on how much overtime she can give, but it's like that's her fault. That's her problem. She doesn't plan everything out good so that we can start cleaning up at a good time. No, it's work, work, work then when it's 15 minutes til the time we should be punching out she wants to be all "oh shit, it's time to clean up!" It's so stupid. Own up to your poor time management and don't get mad at us. Like be for real dude.
Last night was my only night off last week. Usually I work Tuesday-Saturday with Sundays and Mondays off but my boss is on vacation this week so my schedule had to be temporarily switched to Monday-Friday. It's fine cause Bear has the same schedule too and we get a three day weekend. Maybe I can convince him to take me to Walmart during our three day weekend. Hmm...
So I spent a lot this week (slowing it down because I do need to pay rent). But I was also responsible: I paid my phone bill and service restoration (over $120) and I got a $50 bus pass so I don't have to worry about not having money for the bus. Bear and I did Uber a couple of times to work (each time was about $20). But then here comes the slightly irresponsible me. I bought a new TNMBC phone case for my phone (case and shipping totaled over $24 with the case itself being just under 23$), then I bought 4 pairs of socks from Hot Topic which all of them together plus shipping was a little over $40 (but they were so cute!! I needed them!!! And, hey, they are mix of knee high, over the knee and the thigh high socks so they could be great for the winter). Also Bear saw a bar stool he really liked at work and I let him buy it (that was a teensy bit over $45). But Bear got his paycheck last night and we went grocery shopping with our boss this morning after work. She got some things for when we make breakfast burritos tomorrow. She wants everyone to bring at least one thing to put in the burritos and Bear and I opted to bring chorizo. We'll probably cook it when we get home tonight. I also remembered to grab a small box of tampons while at the store to keep in my locker at work. See? I can be responsible! Sometimes...
I was watching TikTok and eating a bag of peanut butter M&M's (I know so healthy, lol) before getting for work and I came across a video one of the creators I followed had posted and it got me thinking. In the video the creator was playing two people (it was a skit), a waitress and a customer. The waitress gave the customer such great service, granted her every wish and the customer enjoyed her experience. When the customer was ready to the pay, the waitress gave her the bill and the customer said "btw, I don't believe in tipping so you're not getting a tip." The caption at the bottom asked if this was fair. I went to look at the comments and a lot of people were saying that the customer was in the wrong (and I agree), but of course there were people saying that that customer wasn't wrong. Some people were even saying "that's not how it is in [country]".
This really got me thinking: why is tipping so big in America? And not just that but, why is America so different from the rest world? Like everything we do is different. We are the only country that doesn't use the metric system for measuring things. When we want to measure weight we use pounds instead of kilos, and for distance we use miles instead of kilometers. We are also the only country where tipping is such a big thing! In other countries tipping is either not really a thing, not a thing at all, or is seen as rude (Japan is an example where tipping is considered rude). But in America tipping has become so engrained in society the people will tip super market employees. My job (for those that don't remember I work at a home improvement store) has a rule in which we can't accept tips from guests because guests will try and tip cashiers or anyone who helped them. My job before this (fast food joint) I got tips even though fast food workers don't normally get tips. Tips are usually for servers, hairstylists, massage personnel, make up artists, etc. Not normally fast food employees, people in retail... So why is tipping so big here in America? Are big companies really that money hungry that they think employees should just live off their tips?
I really wanna see what you guys think so please leave your thoughts in the comments.

I believe tipping is polite if you have it to give even in fast food if it is a policy to accept tips. I have seen companies count tips as pay or spit tips among employees including the management which I disagree with.
Last night at work wasn't too horrible. We had an almost 1900 piece truck, with most of it being stuff for hardware that ended up being flown. I finished just after last break and started working on a cart with mixed products from around the store. I finished all but two items that Bear had thrown into my cart while I was in an aisle. Then I was tasked with getting the upstock from the light bulb aisle and taking it to the back so it can be worked tonight.
Honestly, the worst thing to happen last night was me starting my period a week early (I don't want to see any comments about how periods are gross. They're fucking normal! Stop acting like a fucking child!). I found out when I went to the bathroom and I quickly went up to my boss to see if she had any pads/tampons (I really need to get a small box of tampons for my locker), she didn't, We both went to look for my coworker that normally does bay directed packdowns but now works on the inventory. She had some at home (luckily her apartment is literally right next door to where we work) so we went really quick. She gave me a tampon, pad and "get well soon" sticker. The sticker was actually a Helluva Boss sticker with the show's title. She knows I love Helluva Boss to the point of obsession (I literally watch every show as soon as it comes out). I put it on my phone (like my actual phone, not my phone case) during first break. I also got to meet her cats and they were adorable.
I feel really bad for Bear. Ever since inventory started all he's been doing is flying shit. We have been getting an abundance of power tools since the holiday season (ya wanna get your dad a drill? My job has plenty) so all he's been doing is clearing a couple of overheads in two aisles and putting stuff up there. I help him whenever I can (pulling stickers off and putting them on the side, stacking and counting the boxes, handing him the boxes) but it's a lot of and he's sick of it. I mean, I don't blame him I would be too. My poor Bear.
It is finally October! Spooky month! I was finally able to watch the new Hocus Pocus movie and I thought it was really good. The only thing that urks me is how they got the book. (Tiny spoiler so if you haven't watched the movie you should go watch it). So if ya'll remember in the first Hocus Pocus it's said the Sanderson Sisters got the book from Satan himself (hence why they called him master). But in the new one it shows that the Sisters went into the forbidden forest on Winnifred's 16th birthday after she angered the villagers and almost got Mary and Sarah taken away. There it shows they met a witch who smelled that Winnifred was different from other children and had immense power. The witch then produces Book and gives him to Winnifred and now this witch is known as Mother. It confuses me cause then what about them getting it from Satan? Did Mother get it from Satan or was it passed down to her by another witch? All in all I really enjoyed this movie. Watching the Sanderson Sisters try to navigate the 21st century was hilarious.

What confused me, was when they looked threw a window, people in the house were watching the first movie on the tv. Like.. how is that possible.
yeah the was odd... Like how? I loved how it was gay couple watching the movie though. I just love the inclusivity and diversity
Gosh the weather last night was crazy. A full blown thunderstorm came through when Bear and I got off the train. Good thing I took my big ass umbrella. It was a total downpour and there was TONS of lightning! Like it lit up the whole sky! I don't normally like rain but I love it when storms, mostly when I'm at home in bed, because then I can watch the lightning dance across the sky. Lightning struck not too far from the station and most likely messed up something for the ticket machines because when Bear went to buy my ticket both of the machines' screens were blue. The bus driver understood and I ended up getting a free bus ride, yay!
Anyway, the new Hocus Pocus movie came out today. I was going to watch while eating my dinner after work but I had to rewatch the first one since it's been so long since I last seen it. By the time I finished the first one it was almost 10 AM and I had to get some sleep so I could get up for work today. It didn't help that Bear kept interrupting my movie, asking me for things. That just about pissed me off. He knew how excited I was for this movie to come out. And whenever he wanted something, instead of getting up and getting it himself he asked me to do it. I don't do that to him! Whenever I want something, I get up and grab it myself. The only time I ever ask Bear to get me something if he's already getting up to get something for himself. The only time I ever bother Bear with something, whether he's watching TV or playing his game, is when I need help opening something (like a bottle). He does this all the time and it bugs me. The only time I don't complain about it is if I'm already getting up to get something and he asks me. Look, we have mini fridge in our bedroom where we keep our drinks (soda, water, beer). It's on his side of the room in the corner by the TV. I could be laying on the bed watching TikTok or playing a game and he'll be like "get me a beer? get me a drink?" Every time he does this I want to say "the fucking mini fridge with our drinks is RIGHT FUCKING THERE! Get up and get it yourself!" But I don't because I love Bear. I really do love Bear but this bothers me so much and for once I don't know what to do.
Gosh, I didn't mean to turn this into a rant post but, oh well. If you read it thanks.
