INTERVIEW WITH A MERMAID

16:44 Jul 31 2011
Times Read: 760

Being a bit of a water-baby myself, I am always attracted to folk who love water. My whole childhood was spent near water of some sort, whether it was the sea, a lake or even just a river. I used to dream of being a mermaid...just imagine my surprise when I met a real-life mermaid right here on VR!

Oceanne is the prettiest mermaid I have ever seen. It's funny though, because not only does she swim ever so well, she also loves horse-riding, climbing, shooting, flying and adventure of all sorts...phew! I got tired just thinking about all that...She is a bit of an action lady for sure...

Who is Oceanne?

"OK,don't make me blush right off the bat Pagan.

Hmm, lol Last time I thought about it, was when I made my profile.

Like you though, Oceanne is just a girl who has always dreamed of being, and felt like a mermaid in everything she ever did .

Simply put, the sea is what makes her magic.

She is a woman who works at fulfilling her need to heal people, animals and plants.

She is a mom, and she is someone who loves to learn. Medical, physics, resonance, astronomy, geophysics, geology, zoology...all kinds of stuff. lol... so she spends a lot of time doing that, one way or another.

And Oceanne is a girl who enjoys trading that knowledge with others".

Once again, a modest answer...Oceanne had forgotten to tell me she was a researcher and writer too, but we will get to that just a little later...

I know your dad was a race-car driver and your mum was simply stunning, so what was it like to grow up with the coolest parents ever?

"Thank you PAGAN.

Honestly? I cant say enough about my childhood or my parents. No matter what, they encouraged me in everything I ever did, and through their teaching and guidance, I learned how to live any life I choose or any dream I ever have.

Mom fed me great..and believe me, I ate a LOT.

They kept me healthy and clean.

They love/loved me, and never embarrassed me...not even when I was a teenager...haha hell, that's when they were REAL cool.

My dad, being a Marine and rogue wildcatter along with my grandpa, we traveled all over the place. By the time I was 13, I had been to more places and done more stuff than most will do in a lifetime. See, they were firm believers that travel was the best education a kid could ever get.

You don't just read about stuff, you do it.

I got to take my friends too, so that was a lot of fun. Everyone wanted to hang with the parents. They were just great to be around.

I ended up going to school in Australia, and it was one of the best things for me.

As for mom...I have to tell you PAGAN, she was in a class all by herself. She could do it ALL, and do it with such a flourish.

Talk about graceful.

We never sassed her back though, cause she could out run us and she was good at Kempo, so we never messed with her LOL No one did. But you would have never known unless there was a reason to find out. She didn't talk about it. She was always very calm and quiet.

Everywhere she went, she turned heads..people were attracted her looks, yes..but more so to her essence. She inspired all of her five children..one of them being Trooper Jack, who spends his life running the roads of N.C.being a hero. She was just awesome like that. If I could EVER come close to being what she was one day? I would die pretty happy.

Damn happy actually.

They gave me everything I needed to thrive. And much of what I wanted".

...and having such cool parents was probably why Oceanne was a pretty cool lady herself. I was a little envious at that, I'd have loved to have had a race-car driver dad, just imagine turning up to my friends place in a sporty car with my awesome dad...

Tell me about some of your hobbies please and how do you ever find the time to fit them all in?

"Ok, now you might be in for a long story...Seriously, there are too many to even know where to start..Lets just say if its out there, and I have heard of it, then I most likely have done it, many of them, I'm still doing. Its never all at once and when it has been a normal way of going all your life, there really isn't much to it.

I would be better off listing what I don't do but will give you a short list of things I do ..swimming and SCUBA. I have been certified PADI since I was 14. I like to go on digs..for artifacts and bones, fishing, sailing or any kind of boating, beadwork..whatever I can make something with. I like making feathered fans these days...painting, sketch ...or pretty much any art form.

I was a professional musician for many years as a bassist, and now I just jam for fun with people...Flying, gardening, reading. I read anything in a pinch...Well, except romance.

I've been training horses all of my life so of course I ride. I used to exercise racehorses and train Polo ponies and I made a decent living. We have even had horses that raced in the derby..twice. It was hard work, but so much fun and excitement.

These days, I train and vet a herd of 13 and its pretty casual, which I am enjoying immensely.~Shrugs~ Those are a few of the things I enjoy doing.

Oh!..And a LOT of research".

I could just picture her long blonde hair flowing as she galloped over the fields on her favourite racehorse. That was a pretty picture.

Now then, I love reading your forum posts because there is always a measure of wholesome common-sense mixed in with a hell of a lot of science in your responses...I do notice though that some people prefer to take the mystical, or the supernatural viewpoint to explain things, why do you think that is?

~Thinks for a moment~

"Hey thank you for that, I didn't know you read them. I'm not sure why they get upset.

But the reason I bring science into the mix is to show others that there is very real science to back up what I bring to the table. I have gut feelings about things, and I learned a long time ago to go with them. It usually leads me in the right direction too. But yes, its a touchy subject talking about the metaphysical beyond testimony, but I need to go beyond testimony, I like to show what forces can make these things happen. I might not always come up with a suggestion that everyone wants to hear, but the suggestions I do give are solid. I always make sure of that. I'm simply trying to show that there are forces in this world that can account for many of these experiences. Of course I don't know it all, Heaven help us all if I did. But I spend a great deal of time pouring over information based on hunches, study, and my own experiences, and I get excited when I find that my hunch is on the right track...And...I like to share that with others. They can decide whatever they want to...in the end, I feel I did my part".

I had to agree there. People wanted a little excitement so they preferred to sometimes take an other-worldly view of things, but what I knew from reading Oceanne's posts was that there is nothing more astonishing, exciting, or weird that that which could be explained by science...You have written two articles for the Member article section of VR Empathy and You and Universal Song, can you tell me a little about them please?

"They are the tip of the iceberg and are the result of years of going at..life as I have lived it and how I perceive it. I had some crazy ideas as a kid and have been researching them since. The articles are some of the results. They are actually snippets from a much larger article I have been working on a while...That's all really. Oh, and its backed up by science btw". ~Smiles~

Ah...giving very little away there, so if you want to know more, just read the member articles...Now, it was time to leave but before I went, I had one last question... How did a mermaid come to join a vampire site like VR, and what is it that keeps our little mermaid here...have you perhaps found Nemo...?

"LOL.. no Nemo found here, but I did bring my Nemo to VR.

But seriously, I have to give much credit to Cancer. He has built a site where I feel I can talk about all this stuff freely. I can navigate the site well, I have made great friends here and I can store my files here too. Plus, I learn a lot about others as well as myself through my interactions with them. There are all kinds lurking within these halls, and I like wandering around finding them here and there. So many things interest me, and here we have great diversity.

Besides, I happen to have a vampire horse and who says mermies don't bite?" ;)

Thanks Oceanne!

The new Testament

15:30 Jul 07 2011
Times Read: 840

In the beginning there was Acrimony, and the word was The Dark Network, and Goth was the Prince. All things came into being through Him, and without Him, not one update came into being. What came into being in Him was life to The Dark Network, and the life was Goth to all vampires and otherkin.

...and so it came to pass, in the 7th year of the reign of the Prince of the Dark Network, that the Prince Himself came to the story-place and gave a message to His children...

That whosoever believeth in Goth should not perish, but have eternal life in the Dark Network. For Cancer so loved his vampires and otherkin that He gave His only begotten time to update, and maintain.

They that believeth in Goth shall have everlasting life in the Dark Network and shall not be condemed: but they that believeth not in Goth is condemned already, and shall be ignored.

Verily, I say unto you, this is the word of the Goth.

...now, before the festival of the GIF Avatars, the Prince knew that it was His time to depart from the story-place and go to the computer-room. Having loved His own creations, He wanted for the vampires and otherkin to love them too.

He took off his VR sweatshirt and tied a headband round His head. Then He poured coffee into the VR mug and annointed His golden Admins...after He had performed this duty for His golden Admins, He said to them..."I have set ye an example, that ye should drink more coffee as I have done. Very truly I tell ye, that ye shall not be able to administrate without coffee for the vampires and otherkin demand much alertness. If ye know these things, you are blessed with the Mark of the Prince".

...And many other updates truly did Cancer in the presence of His golden Admins, which are not written in this Dark Network testament: But these are written, that ye might believe that Imagesinwords, is the Hand of the Prince; and that believing ye have to speak to the Hand when the Prince is taking time off is the only thing ye needeth to know.

Here endeth the lesson

Goth is good

Amen.

I have read all of your entries. It is interesting to note the deification you have bestowed upon the select individuals in your journal. And now, bilification - how creative! Aside from the positive upsides, speaking objectively, where are the entries for the other side of the coin. You are well written, so where is your objectivity? Curious. Must one only say nice things about what one obviously loves with an extreme passion? Excellent entry, A+

LOL VSD,

Must I put forth a balanced argument? There seems to be many others who do speak for the other side of the coin. I prefer to speak positively for something I do indeed love.

Amazing as always my dear friend. Your creativity flows from your head to your hands and onto your screen much like a water cascading down from a high waterfall. So truly naturtal and with so much ease. Beautiful work my friend. Bravo !
