Kids in the Candy Store- a Rachel Maddow analogy for the Wall Street crisis. I wouldn't consider this a liberal rant as many on the conservative side have huge objections to the ideology of Washington bailing out the private industries losses.
On Friday, Keith Olbermann announced he had made good on his promise to pay $100 to charity every time Sarah Palin "lies or repeats a lie in the course of campaigning."
This week Keith donated $3,700 to the Alaskan Special Olympics Fund, and one lucky Countdown viewer "will win a can of Aunt Sarah's Moose Stew."
In a post earlier today, TMZ said Winfrey replied, "There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show."
...and she hasn't had anyone on the show while they were running for the presidency.
"At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates."
Oprah’s show has never been a platform for any political candidate past or present. All of these rumors seem to be completely void of noting that Obama has not been on the show since prior to his candidacy... and because they fly in the face of Oprah's words and actions, I think it is just some people trying to extract retribution for what Oprah does off air.
It's been amazing to me to watch. Over the last two nights, if you sit there and you watch it, you're hearing a lot about John McCain -- and he's got a compelling biography as a POW. You're hearing an awful lot about me, most of which is not true. What you're not hearing is a lot about you.
I mean, you haven't heard one word about how they're going to make the healthcare system work ... You haven't heard a word about getting serious about green and alternative energy ... You haven't heard a word about how we're going to deal with any aspect of the economy that is affecting you and your pocketbook day to day. Haven't heard a word about it. I'm not exaggerating. Literally, two nights, they have not said a word about it.
I want someone who will work for me. I am after all shelling out tax dollars to fund their decisions. What will either candidate give the public if they are in office? The abstract ideals, vague patriotism, nor moral value speeches give us any true indication of what they will do when they inherit the White House.
Give me boring policy talk any day of the week instead- at least then I can compare apples to apples.
But I am afraid all you will here from the GOP is how Obama is going to "raise taxes which will make us lose jobs", and how he is a "Tax and spens Liberal".
No mention of the "Borrow from the Chinese and spend" policies of the GOP.
