Wherefor art thou, American healthcare?
Good thing the film and photography side of life have been picking up. The tech jobs are few and far between.
Hopefully I'll get that assistant producer job, and I have another movie to act in coming up this week. But the job market is a real shit-show right now.
Back room heater is on, getting things warm for a long day of editing stuff.
Have many calls to make today to get things set up for video shoots.
Something something something...
Another successful job today, and the good news afterwards was I landed a video shoot for a literacy organization in Utah that wants to work with a professional story teller local to me. Very interesting turn of events.
Yes, we all know "beware the Ides of March..." thank you social media.
Working from home cannot be beat. I don't care what amenities you stick in the office.
To do a job, have it done, then make a bomb-ass breakfast sammich and fresh ground coffee...
Screw off with your germ infested recycled air office spaces. I want to be home snuggling my puppy.
I love these early mornings these days.
The whole sleeping for less than 5 hours every night.
If I had as much motivation as I have sarcasm, I might get some stuff done.
And here's to those possibilities being really, really brief.
Kind of knew it wasn't real anyway....
...onward.
Supreme Court says pornography is anything without artistic merit that causes sexual thoughts, that's their definition, essentially. No artistic merit, causes sexual thoughts. Hmm... Sounds like... every commercial on television, doesn't it? You know, when I see those two twins on that Doublemint commercial? I'm not thinking of gum. I am thinking of chewing, so maybe that's the connection they're trying to make.

Artistic merit in itself is a troubling term.
Who determines what is art? Courts? Stoggey old men who think there's an invisible entity watching and judging us all? Priests who condemn women for lewd behavior if they wear a tank top and show their shoulders, while they diddle a 9-year old altar boy in the rectory? Republican lawyers who argue for free-market capitalism to reign supreme, but still fight against the rights of sex workers?
Fuck this country. The people you elect are so fucking hypocritical and twisted.
I'm sorry if any of you are catholic. I'm not sorry if you're offended, I'm actually just sorry for the fact that you're catholic.

Spent the night last night listening to a friend about his breakup and subsequent problems with his ex given they have kids together.
So many familiar stories, feelings... the accusations, the demonizing of him, the lies, the manipulation, the physical altercations.
A good reminder that men too can be the victims of domestic abuse.
