Aliens, God, religion and science...



People like things to make sense and fit into little boxes. If something is hard to understand, complex or misunderstood then people tend to make up grand stories, conspiracies and mix science with myth to come to an understanding.



I wonder if the "ancient astronaut" theory is just that.



I wonder if it attempts to do what we've used religion to do, if we are trying to replace "folksy" religion with a new myth wrapped in a mix a science and sci-fi, all to understand a world we still struggle to comprehend.
