I'm getting really sick of that full-page Logan ad that keeps popping up, even on this profile which is a lifetime premium and therefore shouldn't get any ads. I get that display advertising is a revenue stream for this and many other websites but when it's detrimental to the user experience of the site is it really worth it? And because of the nature of the ad it's not easy to close, which incurs unqualified clicks not to mention the frustration of the user. There are less obtrusive ad placements which can be used (as long as it's not that top of page one we had a while back which was almost as bad!)

I think people are confused about premium membership and ads. As a premium member you will still see ads, you just see fewer than a regular member would. Being a premium member doesn't mean you see no ads at all.

It's not so much that there was an ad - I work in digital marketing, I know the value of them; it's the obtrusive ads that I object to.
