I'm on the front page of the local paper!

This is May. She is believed to be a descendant of Thomas P. Howard, a member of Lewis & Clark's expedition. She is also believed to have descended from one of the people Edward Curtis photographed while he was on the Fort Berthold reservation.

This is May with her daughter Glenda.

Note: These are simply snapshots I have taken for our records, model releases, etc.. and not representative of what the actual work we are doing.

And what a face she has given you to photograph! I'm excited by what kinds of images you will create. She is a fascinating model and I know you'll do her justice. Congratulations on the amazing turns in your career and life. While I'm delighted for you, I'm not tremendously surprised because since I first heard you sing and first saw the images you can capture and create with your unique vision and perspective.

You inspire me and have for years.

I was told today, by one of the models I worked with, Jesse Holland (the photo below this entry is one of the photos I did of him), something that blew my mind away.

This is what he said:

"I have never had an image made that pleased me the way yours did. I've looked sad, happy, sexy, strong and vulnerable but...

I've never been as completely satisfied as I am now.

Because of you."

Normally, I don't quote or share what I have been told by models I've worked with, or other photographers who follow my work, but this.. when I started out doing this, he was one of the first few people that I aspired to someday shoot. He is way beyond my experience, and I never thought he'd say yes to setting up a shoot with me when I went back to California..

His words to me today blow my mind.

I am so fucking humbled and honored.

Damn.
