Took me a while, but I finally started working on the self portraits for the clothing designer that made this particular dress for me last November. The trade was this dress, shawl, necklace and earrings for my self portraits wearing her clothing.
This is the first one:

Gorgeous! :)
What he said! Lovely.
This is amazing. Even with the what you had to do, you pulled it off splendiferously!
Thank you folks! I hadn't taken a self portrait in 6 months so it was weird to do. Thank you. :)
Love your eyes- they match the dress. Wonderful. :)
my favorite model by far :) Those eyes... wow you're going to have to draw up some maps for those of us who get lost in them Whomp whomp whomp ! I know I'm heavy on the cheese ha but really this is so very beautiful.
This is Lexington. She's a hairstylist on Melrose, and lives in Hollywood. She had wanted to shoot in Forever Hollywood, but as soon as we pulled to a stop at Rudolph Valentino's crypt, and got out with gear in tow, security was right there, letting us know that there would be no filming or photography allowed in the cemetery.
So we found another place to shoot, which was alright, and it was cool to get the Hollywood sign in the background, but I had this other concept of which I put together for the model I was to shoot on Monday. The Monday model was my only flake but it worked out, because that turned out to the the one day I was able to do some site-seeing and eat some freshly made clam chowder on the pier.
So anyway, I had this concept I wasn't able to do, and I had bought the boy underwear and under shirt here in Minot before I'd left. I bought these items according to the size of the model I was to work with who happened to be of agency stats. The only thing I didn't bring with me was the crown I intended to use - which I plan to still do since this wasn't the original idea I had in mind. But, she was all over the idea, was able to squeeze into the clothes and came up with her own take on it, which worked out awesome. I really think that these shots of her I did were more a part of who she really is as opposed to the concept that she, herself, had come up with for me to do with her.
I made the crown out of tin foil she had on hand, and because her bungalow was so freaking dark, I used her wall mirror, which she let me remove, to reflect the light from the only real source of natural light she had in the room - her barely-could-open front door.
So this is my first out of that set - The model who hosted me, was blowing an untold number of bubbles into the frame - she nearly became faint.

So creative and again love your work.
Thank you! It's nice to get some feedback - they get looked at sure enough, but it is nice to hear that it is well received, too. Thank you again! :)
What I love the most is the story that seems to be told- just simply with the look... both of the photography and the model.
Amalia Malaria - The water here, if you follow it, eventually comes out on the ocean. I wanted to walk it, but my time was so incredibly hectic that I just didn't have the personal time to do so. I spent a whole week in CA, and only was able to really do any sight-seeing one time. Although it was wonderful, it certainly wasn't a vacation.
I want to go back simply to wander and not have anything else to do, but that.
Eventually. :)

The look on her face is wonderful, the stars on her arm, the shine of the water. I love your work. :)
What is surprising about this shot is how natural she looks there in the water in a lovely gown. You'd expect her to look sodden, but her garment doesn't even look wet. She belongs there as much as the water, sunlight, and leaves.
For those curious and don't see my work elsewhere, here are a few more from California:
This is Saint Merrique. She was in the ER earlier in the day we did this shoot but she showed up nonetheless to work with me. That dedication kicked my ass. I wouldn't have blamed her a bit had she not been able to come. Of course, this is censored with butterfly pasties to obey the rules of this site. :)
This is Jesse Holland. And amazing and artistic human being. He was able to bring tears and cry to get the emotion I was looking for with him.
A costume designer named Holly Taylor created the head harness that enabled Jesse to wear the horns, as well as the clothing & etc.. he is wearing. Holly was awesome, helpful, artistic and an absolute fun person to be around.
Having an idea, and watching other people take that idea and add to it, and help make it become a reality was an incredible experience. Although I haven't shared them yet, some others from this shoot include a horse, which belongs to a group that train animals for television and film. The trainer that worked with me for these images is also a stunt man and actor and most recently, stars in a few of the episodes for, "Deadliest Warrior" as well as works with the animals that are used for the show.
Being able to work with these people was unbelievable as they are all far more experienced than myself. That's not to mention that these people don't often work for free, and with my little experience, and lack of a "name".. I am fucking honored and humbled.
And, this is Doranne, the woman who hosted me while I was in California, and who I first worked with when I was in California in November for my gallery show, 'The Anisa Effect'.
Jason Becker, an extremely talented hairstylist who works on television and film, did her hair for this shoot. Again, another individual who does not normally work for free but gave his time for a dinner and some conversation. He showed me how to watch the waves, and predict when a big one would occur. He, too, was awesome.
I also shot a crap ton of candids, landscapes, silly stuff on Hollywood Blvd. including Edward Scissorhands who gifted me with his attention even though I was shooting him from the car.. hehe
California was a learning experience, as most experiences, if not all, are. I know I haven't seen the last of her, but I can only wonder where this road will lead me next..

Who donated the heart? :p
Lovely pictures -very well done.
So very cool, Vespers :)
Love them all but the male is calling to my Pagan heart. ;)
I am back from California and though my time was creative, and incredible, there is nothing like the softness of your lover's arms, the smiles of your wildflowers, and the warmth of being cuddled in your very own bed.
I have so much editing ahead of me it is insane.. but, just for fun, I will put up some unedited peeks later. Right now, Homey needs some rest.
