Built in the early 60's if I remember right- Lane is a one screen movie theater that was built to 'update' and replace a older one the owner had in this small town. While the group has saved the building, much of the inside is gone. A new roof is on the building as they try for and await the funding/ grants to turn this place around.
The outside is a ceramic coating that is coming apart, in need of repairs. The silver stripes that hold the panels onto the building are failing after all these years and leaving this old beauty in dare need of some funds to save the front facing.
Still, even with all the damage, the small details stand out of what use to be-
The letter room- the sign rents out, can have your name in lights.
Up the stairs to the projector room. While the projects are gone, the view is stunning.
These are the old seats from the old movie place, given the group as 'they was just laying out in a barn' at the man's farm.
View from the little 'box' the projector uses-
Copies of all photos going to the group who owns and trying to save this place, as well as the historical group in the town.
My Sunday- up early. I mean really early. ;) Got a brisket on the grill to smoke, beans in the cast iron in the fire pit with the dutch oven.
6 hours later- it was allllll good. ;)
And my Fall wreath hanging in my living room. :)
Great way to start September. :D

We have some similar old empty movie theaters here as well. The Liberty theater was built in 1920 and lays empty and The Roxy Theater was built in the 40's and is being used as a soup kitchen for the needy. No one was able to attain enough funds to fully restore it.

Black and yellow outside???????? I swear it was white with red trim years ago.
And where, pray tell, is Mr. Bat????? You know I told you about him flying around during the movies. You said you saw him......where is the picture?????
It was good to see the inside again, brought back some good memories.
