Can't believe Halloween is so close. Trying to get the family locked down on what we are eating Saturday for that is the night our town is handing out candy.



So that means fire in the pit, candy passed out. Then something hot as far as food. I vote chili.



Then a home made dessert. I threw out caramel apples, but thinking my brother wants chocolate, not those. So.... yeah, that is still up in the air.



Movies- Some family favorites as it is every year. The "I don't like horror movies, or blood." ones of us make it movies like Ghost and Mr. Chicken, a family favorite. Maybe Hocus Pocus. That should take us into bed time for my brother as he has a car show on Sunday to go to.



I am getting pumpkins on Tuesday, getting them craved Wednesday. :)



Love this time of the year. Chill in the air, getting darker as the sun loses it's grip on the day, and I am loving the colors on the trees.

Now to cook dinner and watch the Talking Dead.

Seen the movie Ouija: Origin of Evil.



Loved it! Brother went with me and he likes a good scary movie that isn't too bloody, makes you jump, not a deep story line.



This fit all three. :)



We both jumped. But at least we didn't scream like the man who sat a few rolls back behind us. The whole crowd laughed at his scream. :) It was funny, he even joined in the laughter.

Was told today when I answer the phone about a move that I sounded really young to be 'retired" from the business.



Why? I am 50 years old. I work at it since I was 14 part time till 17 when it went full time. So... 33 years plus.



Shocked? Why? My parents were smart and they worked all their lives to give us a better living then they had. They had no education, but worked like dogs for years. And they gave it over when they reached 62, and went home to enjoy the last 20 years of their lives.



I just keep my mouth shut tho, say nothing.



Not like I don't have another 40 hour job a week at this point of my life. I just not doing the same job, dealing with the stress of it. Never said I wasn't working. And really no ones business.



And if you think that meant I didn't earn what I have... as your tones seems to say... then that is your issue.

:D So happy to see folks getting into the Halloween Contest.



You know how you put yourself out there, like standing in front of class room to do a report, worry if anyone would just be part of what you are trying to do....



That was me.



But we got two members putting something in so ...



YEAH!

Watching Ice Road Truckers and have to say- If you are hitching a ride with a driver that is well known to be religious- why would every word out of your mouth be a cuss word?



Really?



I mean if he was in your truck, bumming a ride, then cuss. But you are in his truck, he is doing you a favor so watch the cussing.

I go into phases on books I like to read. Of late it has been young adults ghost/ paranormal books.



Found a series of books called Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper by J. L. Bryan. I have read right thru these. Love them.



Ever read a book and think "Boy I could so be friends with this writer. He has the same sense of humor, great mind. And strange enough to enjoy being around."



:)



I have several books I would 'enjoy' hanging with the person who put those words together.

Went to go get my haircut yesterday. Seen one of the stylist, and owner of the two chair shop daughter was there. She is due to give birth this month. I commented to the small group gathered "Hey- if you wait till the end of the month you can have a Halloween baby."



And the switch was flip.



"I don't want a baby with the birthday of witches"

""Good lord no- that is evil to say."

"Oh hell no."

"People who like Halloween are sick. It is supporting the devil."



Last said with a glare at me.



Yeap- the town I live in. Closed minded as they come.

I'm so happy to live in a city that celebrates it like nothing I've ever heard anywhere else- and this includes Salem, in my opinion... there are celebrations and things we do here I've never heard of up there- as far as the incredible balls and all that. But you don't even have to go to a ball to dress up here and have an amazing time.

As much as I love being from the south I'm glad Ken convinced me to go a bit more north. A lot less of that gets thrown at me here. You're weird if you don't go whole hog for Halloween in this area.
