Some pictures from a Christmas Store. Great place to try and learn settings.

I feel like that cat bauble is something I really need in my life.
Anyway, these are gorgeous. I have to admit, I didn't feel very Christmassey yet, till I went through these. . . .
Thank you. :) I know what you mean as it is making me wish I had my tree up by now.
They are gorgeous. Mind if I use a few for a tag?
If not, that is totally ok. :D
You are the official photographer for Christmas in my universe. These pictures are flawless. The colors are amazing!
is that a french store? Cause you got one decoration that says : Noel , which is french for chrismas ;)
Some really beautiful shots here! Loving the deep purples in some.
Love them!!!!

You take the most amazing photos, wow.
The things in the window look gorgeous. What are they?
They are made of glass- flowers is my guess. :) I just loved the artwork. The 'Plant' you see is large. As in the pot it is in is a good 5 feet tall, and about as wide. It is a two story building and that is on the second floor aimed upward.
Last set! :) Rooms, and hallways.

Only noise in the place was in the basement- the locked room where the heating units where. Silent as a tome.
Mostly the equipment that is left in the hospital, which we was told would be sold off or sent to other area hospitals that did not have the equipment.
1 Standing behind the window where the tech would stand as the machine was running. Friend held the flashlight on this one.

First set of the hospital visit with the PR lady. We arrived for the meet up and found out that some of the buildings electric has been turned off, giving me a challenge as I have never taken these kinds of pictures in the dark. Yes- I could of used a flash but that ruins the atmosphere I was trying to catch. With that said- any hints on what I can do to improve is always welcome. I did use a mono pod and had one flashlight that I myself was holding in most of these.
Hope you got a drink in your hand as this is picture heavy.
Outside-
1 View from a mile away.
2 The stairs that use to be the only way up to the hospital when it was first built.
3 The stain glass from outside that is shown in the Day Tour thread
4 ER/ Latest addition to the building.
5 Dark cold morning and a empty hospital. What else can you ask for?
6
7 Café- no lights.

9 Friend with me notice the candy dish on the counter.
10 Went back into the kitchen area only to be shocked to find a flame.
11 Wish I had set the light inside the freezer. And went back to the front of the building and got the tripod. These are the pictures I wish I was able to retake, worked more on the lighting. Maybe used the mounted flash, bounce the light off the ceiling?
12 Other then a flash- I did not know how to get more from my flashlight. Help? Wish I had laid the flashlight on the floor, see what that would of done.

Ohhh my favorite picture is the cafe with no lights.
The way the light comes in the windows and just outlines the lamps from the ceiling along with the outlines of just the place in general.
I just think of hope in that picture. Like through the darkness into the light, help will help you find the way.
:) I think that is why I love the darkness so much- the light is just that much brighter, even more full of hope.
Picture of my day...uhh...night. ;)

Hospital For Sale. They moved into a new building. This is the day I was able to get in with the permission of the security guard on duty, and within 10 or 15 minutes found by another and escorted out. While I did go back with a guide of one of the PR ladies a few weeks later, these were taken during a nice sunny day, when the lights were still working.

It's hard to believe that a perfectly good hospitial has been abandoned like that! The beds, everything is modern, what a waste of money.
Meet a guy today at Eastern State Hospital and had a great time and learned a lot of the history of this pre Civil War place. While unable to get into the buildings, it was a lovely two hours or so of hearing of the history of the buildings as I took pictures of the exteriors. Hopefully I can get into the building before they start demo in the near future.
The building they are tearing down-
A few of the other buildings on the sites (total of 10 on the site)-
This is the Laundry Building that is being saved-
As a working farm back in the day – some interesting buildings for corn storage and dairy duty.
Gate at the rail road tracks for patients who travel to the hospital that way.
Can’t wait to meet up again and see the inside. :)

awesome shots VW
I wouldnt tear them down.
These are lovely!
An old abandoned Victorian style farmhouse. The place was locked up tight, only a small window beside the front door broken and another top portion of a window was gone. I pushed aside the min blind to find wood work that I would have loved to seen up close. And the piano… *sigh* The newer t-shirt hanging from the door made me think someone was staying here, uninvited I am sure.

Wow, that is really an amazing place. The details in the wood are beautiful. The pictures turned out great.
I can't believe someone put a drop ceiling in that old beauty!
Wow, Hun, your pictures are way better then mine ,
Reason I was dying to get into the place. Someone who took that much care on the outside...bet the inside was just as grand. And from what I could see of the doors into the room- it was.
I cringed when I saw the min blinds myself. I was like... Really?? Noooooo....
Great place, glad I spotted it.
Beautiful bones on the old girl.
