People who bluff me.

Called the people who would not pay the bill last week, and talked to the husband. He asked me the total of the bill and he said he would not pay that amount- that the bill was to high. Another company in town moved the same items in half the time. I informed him the time was 8 ½ hours, right at the estimate I made his wife on the phone.
“I don’t care. They wasted at least a hour of that time, so I will pay a adjusted bill.” “Sir - I will not fight with you. If the bill is not paid in full by next Friday then I will file a small caims.” “You do that.”
Fine- add it with the cold check, and the check that was returned to me for account being closed. I wait for a pile to build- as I have to take a day off for the court, sitting. I go once, maybe twice a year to small claims.
About a hour later the mother of the above man calls and she starts in on me. See- even though she had called the night of the move and said “the boys” did a great job, that she knew it would take time to move them, and she would pay the bill- now she is not going to.
These are a few of the comments made-
“You men threaten my son and his wife. The attorney I called is demanding for me to sue them, and you.”
“My very pregnant daughter in law has been ill for days now, and on the day of the move she was so upset it put the baby as risk, the doctor told us.”
“We have ten witness of what happen, and all ten was there all day.”
“The attorney said we was charging the men and your company because you threaten us, and did harm to the unborn baby. He called it endangerment of a unborn child.”
“I am trying to keep your business out of it, so if you can just give me the names of your men.”
Ok- this is how I see it.
My father was on the job about fifteen minutes after she called, telling us of her problem on the bill, the time being used. NO WORDS was spoken of any threats the boys made at that time. This is the FIRST I have heard of them.
The woman, as delicate that she was, had no problems cussing and scream at me on the phone. Or having issues with following the boys around, telling them what was what.
Funny- how this comes up a week later, when I start to try and collect my bill. I had not heard form you until I called this morning.
So let’s look at the facts here- Your wife called and I estimated the time. She stated then it was to high of a cost. She called back and booked the move. Move was done, with no damage to the items moved, or property. (But that may change going by your history so far) You do not want to pay your bill, a bill that was within the estimate I made you on the phone.
You are trying to threaten me, scare me with this “attorney” who is going to put us in jail for hurting the unborn child, and threatening people, fearing for your life, even thou you did not call the police for help. The only time I got a call from you or my crew was when you refuse to pay the bill.
When she was finally done telling me her concerns and asked me for the crewmen names- here is what I said in a very calm voice.
“You tell your attorney to call me for those names. I will be waiting for that call.”
She told me she would, then hung up.
Lesson learned kiddies- Don’t fucking try to bully me out of my money. It just pisses me off more. I have collect money since I was sixteen years old, and you are nothing new to me.

Things that aggravate the hell out the me as I drive:
Dad having insulated boot with wool socks, heavy work pants, t shirt, long sleeve work shirt, heavy thick coat and hat having to have the heat on high as he is cold.
Being told “ Speed limit is…”
Reads every road sign on the street.
Read the gas price of every gas station of every town we drive thru.
“Put the window up, it’s cold.”
"Did not know I was in the car with a Nascar driver. Put some space between you and that car."
Flash light used before the sunrise to see what the rolling noise is from the floor board.
“Police is hot in this area.”
Hard candy being sucked.
“How fast ARE you going? I can’t read the signs.”
Having directions read to you as you leave the warehouse. Then again half way to the place. Then as you eat that morning. And when you start to look for the place, and ask if you turn left or right into a street, he gets mad because you can’t remember from the three times he had read them to you before.
“If you would slow down, you would not use as much gas.”
Use of flashlight to see how dirty the windshield is before dawn.
Country radio
Country radio station news on a town that is 200 miles away from you, and he gets mad when you try to change it.
The same country radio station funeral announcements’ for the same town 200 miles away from you, and you have to listen to them.
“Look- speed limit sign is coming up. You are going to have to go to traffic school if you get caught going this fast.”
“You ever been here?” “Not that I remember.” “Good lord- we worked moving a house down that street for a day just a few years ago.” “How long ago?” “Around… about fifteen, sixteen years ago.” *rolls eyes* “You can’t remember anything. I am over 80 years old and I can remember…..”
Slurping coffee.
*All brought to me by my father this week.*
Pricks... and threats.

I answer a phone call from a man who “Wished to place a complaint.” Turns out he is not the customer, but the complaint he has is my truck turned in his driveway. Now I took it as they damaged his driveway. Knowing the truck was empty, the weight of the truck around 18,000, not many driveways unable to handle.
“Did they damage your driveway? Is the concrete that thin?” “It is not concrete- its blacktop.” Okkkk cheap ass “And the truck damaged it?” “Well… I have a tile under it” “But is it damaged?” He would not say- meaning no. Hell was not that upset about the driveway, but something else.
Then he tells me one of my guys was rude to his wife, as she was the one who had interaction with them, calling him at work, upset. Gosh now… that I am not liking. “What happen, sir?” My guys, using the only large driveway on the street, one that it would seem everyone uses to turn around in by how upset this is getting him, got out and moved the trash can at the street into the yard, and helped the driver backed up to turn around out of the dead end street.
That is when the wife came out, and told them to stop. My driver told me by then he was already cutting into the driveway, and he had pulled up straight. He had to back up one more time to turn. She told them to get off her driveway and one man told her they would only be a second. They got back into the truck and she walked up to the door, and yelled at them that she wanted a number to call, the person she can tell what happen.
One of my guys told her to call the number on the truck, the name is there. Now she did not like it, and was SOOOOO upset she had to call him and tell him. He was expecting a call from the “rude” man, to apologize to her.
O.O
For turning in your fucking ass driveway? Then telling her how to get hold of us? Now the name on the side of the truck is about 5 ft tall. NOT like it’s hidden from anyone. Been at the same phone number since 1948, so…..
“And is there a sign at your driveway it is a private driveway? To not turn around in it?” “I don’t have to. You should not turn into a driveway unless you ask. And if it had damaged my driveway, I expect you to fix it.” “Sir- the truck is not heavy enough to damage any driveway.” “They drove in my yard too.” Oh?? My guys said they did not. So I will make the trip out to the job, and I will check his story, as I know my guys make mistakes. I know they are not above being assholes. They are not perfect. I don’t get many complaints, but no one is perfect. Average complaints is 5 or 6 a year, first of the year.
Then the man asked me what I was going to do about it. I said I would talk to my men when they returned from the job, and address it from there. At this time he informed me he is the editor in chief of that’s town’s newspaper. The newspaper that comes out once a week last I heard. “I might have to do an editorial on this.” Ok- that is a threat… and I don’t take threats well. And the need to check out the driveway just left as today went along as I thought of his words, as I see assholes every day. I inform him of in no uncertain terms - editorial or not- slander is not something I will not stand for. He tells me he will wait for the man’s call.
Now I plan to write a letter, and tell him I am sorry his wife was upset. But not tonight…. I am done wearing the mask for today. I will do the bullshit in the morning.
