This is going to be random as hell so…hang in with it.
Christmas was good. On Christmas eve Cat’s sis calls me to ask about my Uncle and Aunt. Using my Aunt’s first name that I had never heard before had me off so I called my sister, who was in the middle of making cheese cake, so she could look online at the amber alert. Yeap, my Uncle and his wife got out the night before and went driving around. Now this is the only Uncle I have left on Dad’s side- and he has alzheimers. Not really sue why the wife went with it…but she is known to drink a few too many… anyway. They were found early that morning, on a country road, pickup out of gas. Back home and well by the time we ever learned of it. But it upset Mom some, brought up how Dad died the way he wanted to. In good health and of right mind, just they way some folks say that kind of pisses me off is all.
Anyway- sent the rest of the night at Cat’s and watching the kids open gifts is great fun. The circle of life and all.
Christmas was family and time spent together. I got to cook the steaks and everyone loved them, even cooked to the right doneness. Yeah for well done and med rare, and learning how to use butter to seal the deal on flavor. I got perfume from my sister, not a cheap gift as it is $60.00 a bottle. But most perfume makes my asthma kick up, so it is one I stay with for years now. And the bottle should last me a year or so.
My other sister got me a gift cert from a place in Lexington that sells olive oils and herbs. Oh baby- that is going to be fun as you can go in and sample them before you pick the one you want. Yummy.
Cat got me flameless candles I been needing, several mask that will lead to some makeup looks, and a top hat. It is way cool, and have to take the time to do some makeup looks of them.
Birdy got me books, one which is a vampire kit type that does the history of the vampire with lots of images, lots of extras. A ghost story and a murder mystery book to keep me busy this winter and she also got me a big box of my favorite candy. Yummy.
Then it was Dr. apt. for mom. She is just starting to need a hearing aid, so the testing showed. We are shopping around as they wanted to sell us a $8, 750.00 set. Sorry but that is just a little more then she is willing to spend so she can hear the TV, which is where she is having problems. She can hear you fine when one or two talk to her, but when the TV is on and people, or a crowd talks, she gets the words lost. At 83- she is refusing to put that amount into them. So we are shopping, and Birdy’s Dad got them in the next town for $4,000.00.
Then she had several skin cancer spots taken off her hand. Lucky as she did not even get any stitches- all was so close to the top of the skin. We lucked out on that one- could have been the dozen or so the doc told us to get ready for. Dr. was happy with the outcome, as was Mom.
Then before I could blink it seems- my company came a calling. Otter came for a visit, her and the 5 doggies. That was a treat, and spent a few hours catching up with her life. She was on the way to surprise Birra, which by the journal entry, sounds like she did. She was looking forward to getting back to him, and I got to spend some loving time with all the puppies, one which is ending up with Sahahria. It does a soul good to know she will take care of this beautiful puppy, teeth as sharp as razors. Lol She will fall in love, you just can’t help not falling in love with those puppies.
Now it is the last day of 2011, and I have two more items to take care of. One stop at the store for the item I forgot this morning, one at the UPS to send Otter her power cord she forgot here, and it is off to Cat’s for the night. She is making dinner, snacks, dessert, and we plan to watch movies for the night. Yeap- party animals we are not. LOL
Cold weather is heading in, and when I was taking in the groceries to Mom’s this morning, she said her hands were hurting. Mom can always tell when cold is coming. To be in the low teens, chance of snow. See me staying home Sunday and Monday, in a nice warm bed, reading. I ate lunch with them and had a good visit. My sister is cleaning house, so I left her to it. Hey- she is the out of town sister, it will not hurt her to do her part. :P So that is it, how life has been for a week or so. Sorry I have not been online much but life, been busy.
Happy New Years to all I hold dear, and please be safe tonight.
See you next year.
*hugs*
:D
Gave myself a treat of a movie last night-
Something Borrowed
It was fun, cute, just a little fluff to get my mind off things.
But one nick pick-
Kate Hudson playing a 30 year old? Really?
Someone needs to rethink the casting for her playing any woman under 40.
Lovely lady, great body, but she is no 30 year old.
COMMENTS
O.o but Kate Hudson is only 32
She is? Then someone needs to rethink the silver glitter makeup they used toward the last part of the movie. She just looked old. Really old.
The move was not friendly toward her at all.
Not been on a lot- Mom has had some Dr. visits, and some skin cancer cut off today. Just been busy. Christmas was good, fun. The day before seems my Uncle on Dad's side and his wife went for a drive and got lost,,, in another state. Amber alert and all. Time to take the keys I would say.
Just lots of family drama, health issues, and I have not even touched my housework. Grrr.. what a way to end the year. And today at work... just sucked. Take my word for it- it sucked.
But all is well- we are alive, healthy, and together.
Now to dinner, then bed early, see if I can get some sleep.
Dancing In A Wiccan Wonderland
Alexander & Aarcher
Pagans sing, are you listening',
Altar's set, candles glisten,
It's a Magickal night, we're having tonight,
Dancing in a Wiccan Wonderland
Blades held high, censer smoking,
God and Goddess, we're invoking,
Through Elements Five, we celebrate life,
Dancing in a Wiccan Wonderland,
Queen of Heaven, is in Her place,
Triple Goddess, now the Crone Face,
Above and Below, She's the Goddess we know,
Dancing in a Wiccan Wonderland
Now the God, is the Provider,
Supplying game for our Fire,
Above and Below, He's the Horned One we Know,
Dancing in a Wiccan Wonderland
In a Circle we can light a Yule Fire,
And await the rising of the Sun,
It's the Great Wheel turning for the new year,
loaded with abundance and great fun.
Later on, by the fire,
Cone of Power, gettin' higher
It's a Magickal Night we're having tonight,
Dancing in a Wiccan Wonderland
Is there anything sadder then an empty graveyard urn? Just as the sun came up I went to the graveyard to put the flowers on my Fathers grave, as well as my grandparents on my Mom side and Aunt. The ones who have no family to put flowers on their graves now.
Our family’s plot is on top of a small hill, behind it still empty of graves, just a moved field. My back to the empty lots, I stood beside my father’s grave and looked down onto the 100 or so graves the small country grave consist of.
The only tree is beside me, the wind blowing its bare leaves in the cold gray cloudy morning as I looked at the empty vases and urns. There are so many of them.
Why are they empty? The family members that could place flowers laying in the silent tombs of coffins now? Or the extra cost of silk flowers beyond their purses this year? Or is it a lack of caring for the dead?
I looked down at Dad’s grave and had to think of that. I don’t go out to his grave unless I need to change out the flowers. Maybe a few of those empty urns are empty- but the family members visiting often. Flowers don’t show love or respect of the dead. What does?
Am I not showing respect by not visiting the few half a dozen times in a years time? I talk to Dad when I am there, but then I talk to Dad at work and at home too. He is not locked into a grave in my mind. He is in my heart, goes with me.
But still- is there anything more sadder then a empty graveyard vase? This morning, this day, I can’t think of anything.
COMMENTS
I know that my dad has told me several times that he wants his ashes scattered over a lake or in a forest. So, we would have to break the urn for that. How odd to just leave them lying about like that, though.
There's often times I can't make it to my dad's grave in the winter because of road conditions. I know my dad would understand completely. He would never want me to put myself in jeopardy to visit a grave where his body lays.
I believe he isn't there. He's with me and can hear me whenever I talk to him. I talk to him all the time. =) It's kind of like my daughter. She still talks to "Old Grandma" and I often wonder if her young mind can see her since she adamantly tells me she does. I've stopped arguing with her. I talk to my dad when I'm by myself. I often write him letters. If she's not harming anyone or herself, why argue with her about it?
We couldn't afford grave blankets this year for our family members. We usually get one for my dad, grandpap, grandma, Aunt Betty, and order one for my Uncle Jeff if my Aunt Sue is interested. It's a lot of money. We put out flowers this year and solar powered angels we're hoping no one steals.
I used to eat lunch with my dad all the time. I bought him sandwiches too and left them for the wildlife. =) The squirrels actually like chicken. =| Weirdos. But I haven't been able to do that in years because of having a child and money being so tight. I miss it incredibly.
When I do get a chance to go, it's usually on impulse. The things I've bought to put out on my family who have passed, especially my dad, I don't have in the car with me. The graveyard is on a huge hill overlooking the whole city/town. (I can't remember if they lost city status) But if there's snow or ice on the road, I won't risk going up it. If it's overly windy and my daughter's with me, I won't risk her getting sick. She likes going with me though. I've explained it to her as a place to go to remember those who are no longer with us. She likes putting flowers on Old Grandma and my dad the most. I know my dad would have liked my little Princess, for sure!
Wow, I didn't mean for this to be so long.
Not strange at all. To spread the ashes someplace that meant something to them, a place you can go visit. I like that.
Never fear, I enjoyed reading it. I like people to share what they think on the subject. :)
Thank you two for the comments.
My parents are buried together in a crypt. It's outside. The graveyard it is in is rather huge. They keep adding to it; every time I go I see new areas. I haven't been down there in a while because I just lose track of things.
After reading your words and Dire's own account of her feelings, I am going to make this more of a habit. I have family buried in different cemeteries all over the county. There is no reason for me not to visit them.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts :)
Now quickly the dead can be forgotten when they are put in a place we do not frequent. How sad we no longer frequent the places to honor those who reared us. Honor the dead for they will be beside the maker upon our judgement and how will you be able to expect them to welcome you with arms open when we've done so little to remember them.
It seems you show more than respect, you still show the love.
$10.00 for the stuff, $30.00 to ship it as cheap as I can after standing in a line for a hour with 4 service windows but with only one person working.
Happy Holidays! Ho Ho Ho.
*smerk*
COMMENTS
wow.. what a helluva shipping charge. That, and the fact you gave a hour of your time waiting to pay the flippin' thing!
Dexter- what a great season. The ending was a great cliff hanger. And the man who played the killer for most of the year is Tom Hank's son. That is kind of .. odd.
Supernatural on the other hand.. they better not leave it with Bobby dying. That would be enough to really piss me off.
Justified is coming back in a few weeks so.. :D
And for what ever the reason- I booked the last day we had free for this year. Yeap, mostly small moves that will done by lunch time but still... it is work. :)
*shakes head* Good lord people.... is the attention you get from a screen worth that? No touch, no emotions but those express by :) :* :(
No wonder I trust so few on here.

This is one of the better journal entries I've read. It's so true because people thrive on drama and seem to not be able to shut the damn screen off, like some of us can, lol.
is also why i stay in my corner. :)
Watching the movies about travel for the holidays, going to see family, the fun and adventures and even the terrible times, makes me want to do it.
Never traveled to see family, always been the one they travel too.
That kind of made no sense, but .... give it a second, read it twice or so... and it might sink in.
If not- Just move along.
;)
Is there anything like reading a mystery, and getting to the plot twist?
Anything?
*snuggles under her blanket to see the plot unwind*
I still got a hour before I have to get a shower, go meet Birdy and Cat.
Today just keeps getting better. First, its Friday! :)
While a crew broke a globe on a light fixture on a move today, going down the stairway, I will handle that Monday.
We to Cat's to get some books and she gives me a early Christmas gift of several mask. So many makeup looks coming from the colorful feathers.
She had company come in and it is a lady who's hubby works at the local fire department. We started talking and it comes up for me to help with the makeup for the annual Fire Department Haunted House next year, the one charity event they hold. That would be supper cool. :D
Then home to find more great news waiting on VR for me, so...
If it snows- I will be in heaven. :D :D
Also for all who know and love PhoenicianDream- she has set her baby shower date of 1/14/12. Not leaving us much time so.. I will get this together this weekend and sent out the invites. You want one, let me know. :) She just needs to fill in a few more things for me to know what time, address.
Good day.. really good day.
:D Coming online to find this from Meeper-
"But if I were you, I would be afraid. Very very afraid mwwwaaahaha"
I swear, a shiver went up my back.

I need to do a ritual cleaning of my home. Just need to think of a chant.. anyone got a short one? Birdy is the best at making these things.

Lowes Pulls Ad from Show About Muslim Americans. I was going to put this in the House but wanted the usual readers of my journal input that are not in my House.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWcX_zKUFF4
ABC News Video, embed is not listed.
One of the best articles I read on the matter-
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-lowes-muslim-20111213,0,5909694.story
So- what do you think? Should they of pulled the ad? Is the show a cover, to make us forgive 9/11?
COMMENTS
Apparently many Americans are not ready to practice what they preach. Equality doesn't exist here. They see Muslims living their every day lives and think that it's an Islamic agenda to even PORTRAY these people as every day human beings. That to me is pathetic.
Lowes should have a spine. Lowes should not have backed down and given in to this prejudice. People who try to excuse it as anything else than prejudice need to know what it's like to be treated as a misconception and not an individual. It's pathetic.
Good points. I think the whole thing shows how some people, this case a group that is to be forgiven, understanding, accepting- how much of a lie that is. No one judges as well as this kind of group. "God loves you..but I don't" just pisses me off.
And Lowes giving into them? Bet you they never had a problem taking money from them in their stores. Lowes should put the ads back up, and do something nice for the community even. Like donate playground equipment, for this little slap in their faces.
I can't help it- I LOVE the Best Buys TV ads with the women showing up Santa. lol
The one where she kicks the plastic Santa decoration off the roof- just makes me giggle.
:)
COMMENTS
My favorite is the TV one.
Where she shows Santa how big it is and says "Daddy don't want no cologne(sp)" and there's a cheetah pouncing on a zebra (I think it's a zebra his face distracts me everytime, LOL) and Santa jumps and backs up a little with this "Oh shit... She's gonna eat me!" expression on his face and she's staring him down.
Heh heh heh.... :D
And the sneaky phone calls start...
"I know we don't buy anything at Christmas but does XXX need anything?"
"Something small... what do you think he would like?"
"I got a little something.."
Family.
Well... they will just have to live with my smile and company for Christmas. Being paid for only 3 1/2 months this year makes for a Scrooge.
I set up taking a phone line out of the office, moving the alarm system into the dedicated fax line. The service man will do it next month when he come up to do the service call, for free. :) He is a really kind man.
That takes the phones down to two lines, and the internet. And $40.00 a month saved.
Men in Black 3 trailer- :)

Police in Oklahoma arrested a woman on charges of attempting to manufacture methamphetamine inside a Tulsa Walmart on Thursday.
Shopper Alisha Halfmoon, 45, allegedly grabbed ingredients from the shelves and mixed chemicals inside the store, KJRH reports.
"While speaking with some of the firefighters on the scene she made statements that that's what she was doing; that she was attempting to obtain these chemicals and was in the process of trying to manufacture methamphetamine," police officer David Shelby told the station. "However, she said that she was not very good at it."
After Halfmoon had spent more than six hours inside Walmart, loss prevention officers alerted police about the suspect's suspicious behavior in the back of the store, according to News 9.
When an officer confronted Halfmoon at around 6 p.m., the suspect had allegedly just finished mixing a bottle of sulfuric acid with starter fluid, Shelby told Fox 23.
Walmart is known for its low, low prices, but Shelby said she couldn't afford to buy the drug ingredients.
At the time of her arrest, Halfmoon had managed to round up meth ingredients including lithium and chemical drain cleaner, Tulsa World reports.
Security cameras recorded the suspect allegedly mixing chemicals, according to KRMG.
While removing the volatile brew, one officer was treated for chemicals burns after he felt a burning sensation through his leather glove, according to Tulsa World.
This isn't Halfmoon's first arrest on drug charges.
The Tulsa County Jail website indicates that the suspect was charged with possession of methamphetamine and obtaining a drug using a forged or altered prescription on Nov 17. She was issued a deferred sentence and released on bond.
Wait- she is out on bond? But had no money to buy the stuff? Instead stayed in the store and mixed up a toxic brew with kids around?
*cuss words here*

We saw that on the news and I wanted to cuttabish.

Dear person who has only “Ask me” on their profile.
I have decided to take that step, and asking you some questions to see if you are worth talking to again. So here we go..
1- Why would you go onto a social website in the first place, if you don’t want to be social?
2- What makes you so special that anyone would take the time, type out the questions, to ask?
3- What brings you to the site?
4- Are you this lazy on all the site you visit online?
5- What is the last thing you ate?
6- What is your grandmothers maiden names?
7- What age are you going to try and pass yourself off as?
8- You do know this is not a dating site, right?
9- Have you ever peed outside?
10- What is your normal day like? If you have had a normal day?
11- Fast- what is normal?
12- How long are your toe nails?
13- What was the last lie you told?
14- Are you wishing you would not of typed out “Ask me” yet?
15- How old was you when the monster under the bed came out from under it?
16- Do you use those energy saver light bulbs?
17- Picking your teeth with your finger nail- what is your stand on this?
18- Do you think any one else will send you questions?
19- Last time you had the urge to scream, did you?
20- How annoying is this? Most annoying thing? If not- what has that been?
Depending on your answer I will either talk to you again, or never talk to you. The pressure is on, the ball in your court. Don’t fuck it up.
You might ask- What if I don't want to talk to you? Gosh... I am not the one who said "Ask me" now am I?
COMMENTS
LMAO!
lmao. They should love that!
Why don't you ask me these questions? I welcome them.
And would answer them honestly.
ciao,
vladstick
HAHAHAHA!
just for the fun of it, I think I will try and see if I can answer them all lol or not :P
I like paisley. o.o
(I forgot the questions)
I wish I had ask me on my profile, I would have so much fun with this =D
Dear responsive inquisitive vr member... Do you really
* really * want to know the answer? I've learned that many aren't that entertaining and the ones that leap out are crawl liars.
*CORRECTION*
10- What is your normal day like? If you have had a normal day?
Wake up. Bathe my son. Get him ready for day care. Bathe my ass. Get ready for work. Walk to work. Work. Get off of work. Walk home. Get home. Feed my son. Get my son ready for bed. Wash my ass (again). Get ready for bed. Lay in bed for hours. Log onto VR when I can't sleep. Go back to bed. Repeat.
I'm TIRED. :P
lol Love your answers Ducky. :D
Seems a lot of you just like random questions. I will have to keep that in mind. ;)
MF Global - wow. Thinking it is a sign of the times coming?
Off the main forum-
"As our season dwindles down put a list of compilation on what you have dealt with on VR this year?"
I became a Master Vampire the first of this year, like New Years day when I was asked. :) Blessing and a curse all wrap together. But way more good then bad.
Other then that- the site is the same for me. Still full of some crazy and some freaking great people. It all depends on what you do with your time here, how you spend it, take from it.

Hey,where there in 97 or so I believe, when they had the super bad ice storm?I was there and it was really bad.Sure hope you dont get a repeat of it this year.
LOL Did you know that you can tell what kind of winter it is going to be by a thanksgiving turkey breast?
Doe- it is already gone. :(
Really? How do you tell by a turkey? Old wise tail said every Fall day that you have fog is how many times you will get snow. :)
Well, they say that if the meat of the breast is light coloured, the winter will be mild.If its darker..like bluish or purple, the winter will be harsh. The theory behind it is that Turkeys will hug the ground and stay low during the fall and this makes the meat darker.
And its said that at Thanksgiving,if the husks on the corn are thick, winter will be harsh ...
Never heard the fog thing..but I love hearing the old wives tales about this stuff..
haha...tail.. I wrote tail. ;)
I like those Ocean, and I do too.
I want that voodoo doll!!
Shake that voodoo doll some more!
It's raining and I WANT SNOW!

*shakes it for Ducky*
Nooo.... PB- you will burn it, keep it. lol
Got my tree decorated. But not for Christmas or Yule even. I do the seasons so it is for winter. White and blue lights, silver, three shades of blue, white balls. And the ice/crystal swags.
I even did up my profile a little for the season.
All I need now is snow.
Just saying...

If you wonder why my journal is not as it normally is- the men I work with found the site by the Facebook friends on my account there, comments that was made about the site. So.....
That has kept me from saying a lot of things.
Birra needs...to ....change...his...*snores*
Sitting here, waiting to go home to eat lunch/dinner. I open my desk drawer to grab a snack, thinking to myself “If he left me any…”
I cried as I ate the candy bar, wishing it had not been there.
When you call me to ask me to buy shit, at least make the noise in the background low enough for me to hear you.
Lady- I am calling in regards to the special we have..blahl...as the price...blah...blah..
Me- What?
Lady- We have special on magazines..blah blah..scream..blah...at 40%.
Me- Lady- I can't hear half of what you are saying but if you are trying to get me to...
Lady- Sorry, but can you speak up?
O.O
Me- Sure, how is this? *hangs up*
Asswipe...
Well crap on a stick.
I spent a few hours at the Christmas shop yesterday redoing the photos. Some great shots. Then a visit to Cat and her family for some photos of the kids.
Slept so good last night, woke up late and cooked a nice lunch, left overs for dinner. Laundry, housework all done- the rest of the day to edit photos.
Till I plug in the port, and found both cards empty.
lol
Cat's sis downloaded the photo to her computer, of the kids. Seems all the photos are gone now.
Ohhh Cat... burn me a disk please. :)

::hug:: It's fixable. :) And yay for waking late with a lovely lunch!
Well... There was this one time back in the day when I went out into the wild with my first decent camera and had neglected to change the setting "Shoot Without Memory Card."
Soooo the camera acted normal while I was out there, snapping what I was sure were amazing photos... Until I tried to review them and got the helpful notice "No Memory Card."
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUu-
Oh- that would of pissed me off too. :) And yes, easy fix. :)
While I am not in a Christmas mood- still have my fall decorations/tree up even- I am loving hearing and singing with the Christmas music. O.o
Going to skip the Christmas decorations and just go with the snowman theme I do for winter.
At some point, I still got a few more weeks of Fall left.

I need to set up some photos shoots. Thinking the two hospitals, the local collage, and might call about doing a ghost hunt in the haunted office building. I need to also contact a few historical societies, get some letters a few people have promised me so I can get into some other buildings. I need to finish my letter up, get my intro letter, portfolio in order.
And go back to the Christmas shop to take photos again. I went last Saturday but my back was hurting so bad, cramping, I could not bend over, move about much, and the photos sucked. Need to just redo them.
Bad thing about hobbies- never enough time to enjoy them.
Today was fun. Had plans, sort of. But first was a trip to the old Hospital here, as two men were hired to help load a few pieces of XRay equipment. I went to see the building, and take a few pictures if I could. I did, getting caught. lol But the lady who we had meet before, the one who let me into the building and taking photos, showed up shortly after so the Admins kind of chilled a little. :P Got a few shots. :) And got the news that the hospital is being torn down, starting mid of Dec. Seems the land is more valuable without it. Shame... :( .... me and my sisters were born there, grand parents and father died there.
One of the guys got sick, throwing up, sending his time in the bathroom so I stayed and helped with the job, thus my day was shot. Oh well... I got my electric bill paid for the month. :D And would not want to leave the one man, and the driver without some help.
Just have to shift all my "to do" list to Friday now, and adding a few more phone calls to the list. Will be a long one.
BUT- the lady at the hospital gave me a name to call, ask about getting into Mt. Sterling Hospital that has been closed half a year as they open a new one. Hope she lets me in, love to take some photos of the old hospital, the history. :)
*cross fingers*

It is strange to think of "murdermount" not standing up on that hill after all these years and so much involvement in the lives of folks around here.
Woo hoo a trip to Mt Sterling sounds fun :)
Good to have them bills paid for another month *big grin*
