Well, to follow up on my rant from earlier in the week....



I picked up the computer from the local repair store this afternoon and paid them the $25 diagnostic. I then proceeded to Best Buy where I had bought said new computer four months ago. I knew from the outset they were going to try to get me to agree to send the thing off and have the manufacturer repair it, but I don't have 10-14 days to waste with my paralegal not having her computer, so I was prepared. It only took two easy steps!



1. Theo birthed a goose at the Geek Squad desk and

2. Theo exhibited her redhead temper.



Actually, I was able to reach the solution I wanted without a scene. :-) They backed up all of her files, replaced the computer with a better model AND gave us a nice big monitor for our troubles. :-)

So, my paralegal's BRAND NEW computer (think four months old) wouldn't turn on when she got to the office on Monday. At lunch, I took it to a local computer shop because it was going to take 10 day, at the minimum, to have it sent off from Best Buy, which is where I purchased it originally. The computer repair person just called. According to them, the cheapest thing to do would be to get a new computer! OH HELL NO. My happy ass will be taking the damned thing to Best Buy, with a print out of all that is wrong with the little fucker and demanding a new computer in its place. RIDICULOUS that things are not built to last more than four months. ARRGGHHHH.
