Peter Capaldi the new Doctor has in fact already appeared in the Whovian Universe in Doctor who as Caecilius Series 4, Episode 2: "The Fires of Pompeii" In Torchwood the Doctor who successful spin off John Frobisher "Children of Earth" . He has appeared in some prominent shows in the Uk, including as Charles I in 'The Devil's Whore'

Hello everyone. As you can tell I'm a big fan of The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy.



It has to be said, I am far more of a fan of The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy in it's Televersion aperance, than it's Big Screen contarpart. The small screen adaptation, though dependant on 1980's technology is storyline wise more witty than the polished Holywood version. Don't get me wrong, I apriciate the movie verion, but it just lacked the charm of the television series. Albeit the effects of the day were ropy, but lack of cg caused the makers to be more visually creative. One thing I did like about the big screen version was Alan Rickan as Marvin The Paranoid Android. He is one of my favorite all time characters in science fiction. This misanthropic, intellectual depressive that I relate to at times. It's writer Douglas Adams is very gifted at reflected our varied oddities as a human species into a sci fi world. He takes mundane situations such as a Demolition of property to make a Bypass into social commentary. His use of pathos, wit, wisdom and human curiosity lead to this being an inventive world that many a reader adored
