Here is to this bird of mine:
This bird of mine, he flew far away
he took my love with him then threw it all away.
This bird of mine, he flew far away
He found a new flower that could make him want to stay.
This bird mine that flew far away,
he turned my world into hues of gray.
He took a single seed and threw the rest behind,
He took a million drops and left me dry and blind.
This bird of mine, he flew far away,
he gave me a glimpse of light then left me back in the dark,
This bird of mine, he takes lives away,
devours all he sees, there's always a price to pay.
This bird of mine, he watches from afar,
he judges as we fall and laughs at us all.
This bird of mine, he pretends to be a saint,
He wears a mask of hope and lies in riddles and rhymes.
This bird of mine, he flew far away, he my love with him and threw the rest away.
This bird of mine, I thought I could make him stay,
I thought my love was enough but he will always stray.
