You are the darkness
that dies the ocean black.
The force of the tide
forever taking me back.
The power of the waves
that come crashing down.
I live under your thunder
but never drown.
I drink you in
whilst searching for shore.
I sink, I swim
back to before.
The ocean's son, seas daughter.
Water merges wonderfully with water.
You are the ebb and the flow
of everything I question
and all that I know.
The ocean owns a heart
where all souls melt
a place it stores the pure
of everything ever felt.
So all forgotten love
and words left unsaid,
live within you still
just not in your head.
So when you're standing
in this ocean, staring deep in me.
I can only hope
you feel what you see.
Though great waves will
always come crashing down.
You are part of a body
that can never drown.
There is no such thing as darkness
only 'absence of light'.
For sure there is a shore
so swim for it tonight.
