I’m thinking of giving notice at my job just before the holiday season. I’ve 100% had it with the hotel industry and these past couple of weeks have just about pushed me over the edge.

I went on vacation towards the end of October and returned November 7. That commenced what was probably one of the worst work weeks I’ve ever had. I’ll spare the details, but let’s just say that once I finally reached my regular days off again, I was absolutely exhausted, sore and beyond fed up.

I’ve made no secret of the fact that I despise the hotel business and have wanted out for a very long time. Now, with everything that’s happened in addition to the fact that the holiday season is upon us has seriously caused me to consider walking away and figuring things out in the new year.

I can’t stand the holidays and am always in a shitty mood to some degree during them. And if this year is anything like last, given the way I’ve been feeling lately, I think there is a decent chance of me blowing up in some way.

Of course, I haven’t had the best luck in finding something outside the hotel industry, but even if I wind up at another hotel … *Shrugs* I don’t know. At the very least, perhaps I can simply get away from holiday bullshit for the first time in 18 years.

I haven’t made any final decisions yet - it’s just something I’m batting around in my mind. And it’s really all up to whatever I choose. So, we’ll see what happens.

Not much else to report, really, in the past year-plus (I didn’t know it had been so long since I wrote here!). I never did get a chance to ask out the girl I mentioned in my last post and she isn’t at my workplace anymore, so … meh.

My cousin asked me about joining his men’s dart league team and I agreed a few days ago. I’m writing this on a Tuesday morning and my first game with them is Thursday night, so now I’m officially playing in two leagues (that and the mixed league on Wednesdays that I’ve been a part of for a number of years). From what I hear, there are a lot of great players in the league, so we’ll certainly see how it goes, lol.
