The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

The buzzer shatters the silence,

startling and annoying me

as it breaks into my thoughts

to remind me that it's time

to change the solution to stop bath.



I change solutions in the dim yellow-green light,

shaking the container gently

as I set the timer for another minute.



BUZZ! The timer sounds its near-deafening horn again.

I change solutions to fixer,

setting the timer for 5 minutes this time.

As I wait, I watch the clock,

waiting the required 30 seconds,

then agitating 3.



The film in the rinse bucket catches my eye,

spiraling up and down in the water

like some great gray-and-black snake.

The peace I find here is like no other I know,

calming, soothing my troubled, angry heart

as I watch the film float and sink in the rinse.
