Fuck this entire day. Bad enough it’s the anniversary of the day that’s haunted my dreams since 2005, but the coroner finally got back to us my step uncle’s death.

Slipped on the carpet, cracked his skull on the fireplace, faceplanted into the floor and drowned in his own blood. No way for a man that kind to others to die.

Funeral was…nice, as funerals go. Service was Episcopal. First time I’ve been to one. Apparently they take communion during the funerals?

Little better off financially, though not by much, but chipping away at the bills little by little.

End of the work week tomorrow…then it’s off to Alabama to help my college roomie sell die cast cars. 150 bucks for two days of work. Could be better, but I certainly won’t complain.

Wants me to dust off the EMF detector. Says that “one side of the mall is…weird.” …whatever the hell that means.

Guess it’s time to bring the whole kit, break out the leather duster and what not. We’ll see how it goes. Last time I pulled an investigation in that state I almost got stabbed.

Bleh. Can’t sleep again.

Financially speaking, still in the hole, so I’m eating a lot of ramen until further notice. Got lots to do still.

Blergh. Headache, cold. Bones ache. -gives middle finger to Covid-

Had to put down another horse today. Tranq rifle since the vet couldn’t get close enough to put the needle in herself.

Also I got dragged ten feet the mud by a pissed off horse today. Shoulder is outta whack, but damn it, I got that horse to stop.

It’s been a shitty day and all I want to do is sleep, but my shoulder hurts too much.

Funeral is next week some time.

When I eventually manage to take over the world, the entire month of February will be outlawed, lol

But seriously, I need a vacation.

A member of my family has been dead for two days. No cause of death discernable. He was my step-grandmother's son. One of the nicest guys in the family, kind to give you the shirt off his back. Funeral may be Wednesday or Thursday. Been in sort of a fog these past couple days.

Glad I have tomorrow off.

Also may finally have some traction on the family inheritance squabble...

After waiting for so frickin long, I bit the bullet and called in a favor. My mother has agreed to cover the costs of hiring an attorney. Hopefully something comes of it, because things are so tight financially at work, one of my coworkers has been talking about quitting because what we're paid isnt enough for her to live on.

Also, it would be rather nice to afford a vacation somewhere.
